24.01.2022 Meet our Receptionist, Sharon How long have you lived hear? Lived in Murrindindi my whole life.... Where did you work before this position? Worked in local government for many years then went back to school and got my certificate in Individual Support which allowed me to work at Kellock Lodge. Morning person or night owl? I am a morning person. Love to get in there and get the day started. Your favourite holiday destination? Favourite destination would be Italy and Ireland. What is your favourite part about working with AFMC? I love working at AFMC with an amazing team who are always ready for a challenge and happy to assist patients and each other. It's a great team environment to work in. Sharon joined the team at AFMC in October 2020 as one of our part-time receptionists. Her bubbly personality & caring nature to her colleagues & our patients is a big stand out. Sharon is learning new things everyday (no day is ever the same in a medical clinic!) & is always dotting her i’s & crossing her t’s!! Make sure you say Hello to Sharon next time you visit the clinic

22.01.2022 ALL OF VICTORIA IN STAGE 4 FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT UNTIL 11.59PM WEDNESDAY Premier press conference - Feb 12 PREMIER - Last 24 hours - 5 cases. Three of these... were announced yesterday. All are confirmed contacts of Holiday Inn cases. UK Strain - hyper-infectious and moves very fast. Don't have cases outside known contacts, but the presentation is a concern. Infecting close contacts before confirmed case. Must assume that there are further cases in the community & moving at a velocity not seen anywhere else in our country. Based on public health advice - if we wait for the theory of more cases to be confirmed it will be too late. Don't want to lock down until vaccination rolled out - months. We need a circuit breaker. 11.59pm tonight - all of Victoria into stage 4 restrictions. Until 11.59 Wednesday. There will only be four reasons to leave your home - Shopping for what you need, when you need it. Caregiving for compassionate reasons. Essential work or permitted education where that cannot be done from home. Exercise for two hours per day, with your household members, your intimate partner, or one other person who is not from your household or your partner. You must stay within 5km of your home other than for permitted work, or if you need to go shopping for things you need when you need them, and you cannot access those things that are, again, common sense tells you if they’re essential, if they can’t wait until Thursday, then you would be permitted to be beyond the 5km limit. Masks to be worn everywhere. No public gatherings. No guests at homes. School closed but remain available for vulnerable children. If can work from home, must. Childcare to remain open. Higher ed - closed Places of worship closed (apart from broadcast) Max 10 ppl at funerals. No wedding sunless compassionate ground. Closed until midnight Wednesday - Hairdressers, RE auctions & inspections, indoor phys rec and sport, community sport (playgrounds open), pools closed, libraries (unless support), creative, non-essential retail, takeaway only from hospitality venues. Must use abundance of caution. CHO BRETT SUTTON - Identifying and quarantining close contacts immediately. Want NO community transmission. HEALTH MINISTER MARTIN FOLEY - Need to avoid a catastrophic 3rd wave esp for vulnerable ie aged care. During this lockdown - No visits to aged care. Restrictions on hospitals. Support framework to be reestablished. We need to get ahead of this problem & squash it. TESTING COMMANDER JEREON WEIMAR - 13 cases in Holiday Inn outbreak, including 3 from overseas. 2 people staying, 4 staff members, 4 household members yesterday. All positives were isolating at the time they were tested. All of the UK variant. All in Terminal 4 at Melbourne airport between 4.45am and 2pm on February 9 MUST isolate and get tested. PREMIER - Have informed PM. Grateful for support. Why regional Vic? Don't want it to go there. To keep Melburnians out of regional Vic. Not enough time to set up Ring of Steel. Regional Vic - "No evidence of cases and that's the way we want to keep it." Why not 6pm? Difficult decision re operative time. Pls use common sense & good judgement and not go out tonight, but due to logistics chose midnight. Tennis, AFLW etc - no crowds. Considered a workplace. Minimal staff. Don't want to see further cases from exposure sites or mystery cases. Need to minimise contacts. Flights - If in the air, will receive those en route, but wouldn't make sense to have further flights during lockdown. Victorians are equal to this task, as painful as the next five days will be. Please follow the rules for the five days. If you don't need to travel to a holiday house etc between now and midnight, please don't. Will need to extend the State of Emergency. This is not over. Let's work through that. May need an abridged parliamentary sitting next week, making up the days at another point. The supermarkets remain open. Please don't hoard toilet paper etc. There's no need!
