22.01.2022 Saskia Havekes is the Queen Bee of all things floral. Blooming from her tiny Potts Point flower shop (our local darling, Grandiflora) to her impressive large-scale floral installations, and even a fragrance line (why not bottle that addictive smell?!), she is the self-proclaimed Flower Addict which also happens to be the title of her third book. Everything Saskia touches turns to sculptural, floral gold and we have long admired her bold installations at various fashion shows and festivals, but it is her dogged work ethic and unwavering ambition that really steal the show. Here, we chat raising daughters, creating art and retreating to the countryside to ride horses.

20.01.2022 A sensitive reincarnation has brought new life to this Victorian terrace through a light-filled extension and reconfiguring of spaces. In working with the home’s original beauty, we have found balance and style in a quintessential Sydney terrace. Come inside Moncur Street . . .

17.01.2022 Freestanding, wall-mounted or integrated, decorative screens can define distinct areas within an open floor plan or add bold architectural interest to any outdoor or indoor space. Here, we explore our favourite ways to enhance your home by incorporating unique screens and room dividers.

14.01.2022 The best sort of projects are the ones steeped in stories, and Knox Street, with a blossoming romance at the centre of its renovation, is a story for the ages. Our client approached our studio wanting to freshen and furnish his Sydney apartment; everything from artwork to dinnerware was required, and importantly, enough feminine touches to allow new love to grow.

12.01.2022 Abby and her husband approached our studio dreaming of a total redesign of their family home. During our first meeting, we were so caught up chatting design and families just like old friends do, that I neglected to ask her for many of the usual project specifics! When we said our goodbyes I instantly knew the connection was there and everything else would work itself out. Abby has a modern, effortless chic aesthetic, so when I learned of her sleepwear company Hybernate it made complete sense. Modern sleepwear for the style conscious; no childish patterns or flannelette. Just beautiful simplicity and luxurious fibres, ethically sourced and manufactured. Exactly the ethos we hope to translate into her home. Here, we do more of what we do best, talking about family, growing a business and of the dream home we are creating.

07.01.2022 There’s nothing better than that first hint of spring, teasing us back to life from our winter slumber. Finally the months spent hunched beside the heater and weekends consisting of too much screen time are over. The first ocean swim of the season beckons and the first bloom of the jacaranda trees calls us outdoors and into the good times. Usually there are cocktails on rooftops and rosé on ice, farmer’s market mornings and afternoon beach barbecues, picnics in the park and coastal walks on the weekends. But of course this year is a little different. We haven’t quite escaped the threat of the pandemic and talk of the ‘new normal’, whatever that might be, abounds. But a new season is coming to greet us, unswayed by the virus, and we plan on basking in every inch of its sunlit glory.

07.01.2022 Project briefs come in many shapes and sizes. For some of our clients it’s clippings from a magazine, a favourite holiday destination they want to recreate at home or simply a love of a particular fabric or pattern. For the top-to-toe transformation at Macleay Street’s ‘Ikon’ building, our client’s inspirational reference was ‘more Meghan Markle than Kate Middleton’s wedding dress’.

07.01.2022 2020 has thrown many a metaphorical spanner in the works, but we’re not ready to give up on it all just yet. As the festive season nears, it’s more important than ever to keep the magic of Christmas alive, so we’re doing just that, by making magical moments amongst loved ones, good food and a whole lot of summer sunshine

05.01.2022 I N T R O D U C I N G ~ Cheltenham Early Education Centre Our client approached our studio excited by our work on the Mater Hospital Special Care Nursery, and wanting a similarly personal approach in a public setting, to transform the run-down church into a nurturing and inspiring place for children to learn, play and grow. Keen to harness our residential expertise, our client’s brief was to create a space that would feel like a second home for the centre’s little inhabitants.... We set out to create an imaginative, stimulating, out-of-the-box, yet calming and kid-friendly space, that would encourage exploration and fun while steering clear of plastic-fantastic materiality and headache-inducing colour palettes. 01.01.2022 It might seem indulgent to talk about luxury gifts at the end of a year so full of crisis, but indulge we shall, because dreaming the dreams has never been so necessary. Luxury means different things to different people. For some it might simply mean a bubble bath in peaceful solitude, for others it’s nothing short of Cartier diamonds, darling. But in the spirit of extravagance, we’ve dug deep into our fantasy wishlists (and pockets!) to bring you the gifts that will be sure to illicit all the oohs and ahhs.
