16.01.2022 I remember around last year waiting in a queue, a lovely lady came up to me and asked if I was okay. I told her that I was feeling fine and it was very thoughtful of her to ask me. She proceeded to say don’t take this weirdly, but I noticed a bit of a scar on your chest and thought you may have been burnt in that area. When I told her that my scar was in fact an open heart surgery scar, she couldn’t believe it! She was so interested to find out my journey and I told her all... about my journey with heart disease and the aftermath! It was just from her noticing my scar, that a whole story was able to be told! I have also told my story through a children’s book! I am so fortunate that I have been given this opportunity to tell my story to the world, both verbal and through a story Don’t forget that you can purchase my book, by visiting my website www.alexandraworth.com.au I appreciate all the support!

14.01.2022 Hey everyone, I have been mentioning about my book launch, which was due to be held during the April school holidays. At the moment, I am unsure as to whether the book launch will go ahead or not. I have not confirmed yet, but with COVID-19 becoming more apparent over the past couple of weeks, the health and safety of everyone is paramount. I will get back to everyone as soon as possible with an answer and I do apologise in advance. If anything, the book launch will be postponed, but as to when it will be held is uncertain. Thank you guys and I do apologise.

14.01.2022 This is a photo of 10 year old me, just about ready to wake up from a four hour open heart surgery. At this very moment, I had no idea of the person I was about to wake up to; a person who was going to be more healthier, stronger and better than ever. I would no longer have to worry about always being tired and fatigued all the time. I would no longer have to worry about mum and dad changing my bed sheets twice a night because I sweated so much in warm or cold weather. I woul...d no longer have to go for drives with mum or dad to calm myself down because I panicked about my heart racing all the time. I would no longer have to worry about trips to the hospital because I was breathless and my heart was racing. I would no longer have to worry about being the kid that tried so hard in everything they did, but couldn’t keep up to the other kids my age. All this was what I experienced for 10 years, but that all suddenly changed on the 10/12/2008. My new heart is the best gift I have ever received and I am so thankful that I was given a second chance in life! My book is all to do with my journey with heart disease, as well as the surgery and life after my heart surgery! It is a book for everyone and I am so thankful for the amazing opportunity of writing a children’s book! Would you like to buy my book? You sure can, by purchasing from my website www.alexandraworth.com.au Thank you guys for the support!

13.01.2022 Received an email from Karen at Cocooned to have my story and book published on her blog Karen and her family own a clothing company, specifically designed for medical reasons for children. Clothing can sometimes be difficult during surgery or check-ups, but this clothing provides comfort and warmth to children post surgery, during treatment and during recovery. This type of clothing also takes the stress of parents and caregivers during those difficult times Her clothi...ng is designed in collaboration with Paediatric medical staff and parents who have cared for children in hospital! This is such a clever thing to have designed and if you know of anyone with children who may require surgery, ask them to check out www.cocooned.com.au Clothing is Australian made Check out the blog she posted of my book on her website too! Thank you Karen! I really appreciate it

10.01.2022 I have been so appreciative of the feedback I have been receiving for my book! It certainly inspires me to keep writing more Today, I received this message from a special heart kids mother! Some people with open heart surgery scars or any type of scar can become very insecure about ‘showing off’ their scar to public! I can definitely say I went through a stage of not wanting to show my scar, but now, I am not afraid for my scar to be shown because it tells a story...a story... that says, I survived! I am so happy that this little girl is so proud of her scar and is proud to tell others about it I am so happy too that they loved my book! What an honour to write a story about open heart surgery, that can relate to so many people who are brave ‘heart warriors’! Thank you guys for supporting me and if you would like to purchase one of my books, please visit www.alexandraworth.com.au See more

08.01.2022 Unfortunately, my book launch due to be held during the April school holidays will not go ahead. As to when my book launch will be held, I am not too certain at this point of time! I understand many people were waiting for my book launch, so they could purchase a signed copy/copies of my book. But don’t panic!! Please don’t hesitate to message me if you would like a signed copy of my book! I am happy to deliver if need be (please note that I can only deliver within the Innisfail area) or if you would like to collect from me, that is also fine If you do live away, please also message me and we can organise something! This will be the only way at the moment to purchase my book, until my website is up and running! Thank you so much guys and I do apologise for any inconvenience!

01.01.2022 What is my book about? Well as many know, I had lifesaving heart surgery back in 2008! I was 10 years old at the time and the journey was very challenging for not only me, but also for my family! During my time in hospital, I read many books and there was one children’s book in particular that I absolutely loved and was lucky enough to grab a copy of the book, that I still have with me today This moment is what inspired me to one day write children’s books! It was a dream of mine and I am very happy to say...that dream has come true! So in regards to the question, my book is about a little girl who has had open heart surgery! It details her journey before, during and after the surgery! The illustrations by Amy Louise Calautti will definitely capture the eye and the story is truly beautiful! It is a book for everyone!!
