25.01.2022 In VCE Theatre Studies last term, students entered the Australia-wide ‘Bell Shakespeare Short Film Festival’. Here is an entry from Charlotte Harris, with her 'Horror' reinterpretation of Romeo & Juliet. Of ASC's entries, Jayden Arnett was awarded 'Highly Commended' by the judging panel with his reinterpretation of Macbeth. Check out this week's Inside Out for a link to his entry.

20.01.2022 We feel fortunate and grateful to be open for learning to ALL of our students tomorrow. Students can check their new timetables on Sentral to ensure they have the right books and equipment for classes.

20.01.2022 Year 12 VET Hospitality students delighted staff working on campus today with their ‘prepare, serve and advise’ task. Morning tea consisted of spanakopita (the best I’ve ever tasted) a fresh scone and brownie, whilst lunch consisted of butter chicken served with coconut rice followed by tiramisu. The food flavours, presentation and service were all outstanding. The quality of the future hospitality industry is assured if these students are at the helm!

20.01.2022 Today we farewelled our Year 12 students. Due to COVID restrictions, the day played out a little differently to usual. Staff waited on students during a seated luncheon in the student shelter. The students’ dance and speeches were then presented with all students from Years 7-11 watching on from the surrounding lawns. Pavers were presented by Mr Lyttle with elbow bumps replacing the traditional hand shake and Tracy Parker’s graduation cake incorporating the colours of each of our four Houses was enjoyed by all. We thank our Year 12’s for their positive contributions to College life over the past six years, and wish them all the best for healthy, happy and successful lives.

18.01.2022 We feel privileged to have had all of our students back on campus with us at the College today. We are really looking forward to working towards making Term Three a particularly productive one.

17.01.2022 Here is a closer glimpse at the Japanese inspired artwork of our Years 7 & 8 students.

15.01.2022 We are loving the colorful and creative works of our Years 7 & 8 students completed during remote learning, and currently on display in the Art Wing. Background music is provided by our Year 8 band, ‘Those Ones’.

13.01.2022 In my excitement for students returning to school, I have misinterpreted the Department of Education's Operation Guide. Secondary school students can only return to school from Monday 12th October. This means online learning will continue for the rest of the week. I apologise for this mistake. If parents have made plans for Thursday and Friday in the belief students can return to school and so cannot have their students at home please contact the Front Office and we will supe...rvise their online learning at school. I have arranged extra staffing to accommodate this. Once again please accept my apologies for this error and for any difficulty it has caused. It will be fantastic to have everybody back on Monday. Regards, Nigel Lyttle See more

12.01.2022 Over the next two weeks, our College Captains will be running a Virtual Walk/Runathon. Every time a student goes for a walk/jog/run, they are encouraged to fill out a quick survey, which will contribute to House Points and individual prizes. We appreciate how difficult it can be to stay motivated during home-learning, and through this program our Captains hope to encourage students to go outside, keep active, and stay connected with their school community. Updates will be shared through our private Instagram page, ‘alexsecondarylife’. To make this a successful program, we would love everyone to get involved, and to send in photos of themselves out on a walk/jog/run.

10.01.2022 Restrictions mean greater distance between each other, but that doesn’t have to mean the community spirit has to stop! Students from VCE Theatre Studies have created their own readings/re-creations of children’s stories, aimed at students in Foundation-Year 2. This is Jess Waixel’s performance of ‘Where the Wild Things Are’.

08.01.2022 We trust you enjoy Jamie Baird's rendition of 'Romeo & Juliet'. Jamie has choreographed this interpretation herself, which represents Juliet’s journey and development throughout the play. This task was completed for VCE Theatre Studies as a submission for the 'Bell Shakespeare Short Films Festival'. Jamie is also completing VCE Dance via Distance Education.

04.01.2022 Our very talented Year 11 student Tayla Arnett.

04.01.2022 This week in our remote learning classes students of Japanese have learnt of the significance of August 6th 1945. To Australians, August 6th is known as VP Day. To the Japanese it is referred to as Peace Day. The Japanese make paper cranes to symbolise their hope for world peace.

02.01.2022 It was wonderful to have the College full of students again today. Our Canteen Manager, Tracy Parker cooked up a storm providing students with a choice of delicious muffins at recess. With so many flavours and toppings available making a choice was a tough decision. At lunch time sausages in bread were provided. This was all to welcome everybody back. Two of our senior bands, ‘Satis Intent’ and ‘Dedicated too..’ played live at lunchtime helping to create a great atmosphere.
