In recognition of the outstanding efforts of school staff during the COVID-19 pandemic, the last two days of the school year, Thursday 10 and Friday 11 December, have been declared student free days. 15.01.2022 It was wonderful to see all of our parents and some of our students yesterday as they picked up their packs for learning at home. We've already heard from a few families that are ready to start this new learning curve adventure and we thank everyone for the positivity and supportive attitude we saw yesterday. We are all in this together.

05.01.2022 Hi all, I have finally got our official Alexandra Bay SS Facebook page up and running. We will use this site as one form of communication with our families during this confusing time. The QLD Government has made the decision to extend school holidays starting from Monday the 30th of March. At this stage school is scheduled to resume on Monday the 20th of April.... Staff will be still at the school this week. If you are an Essential Worker (Workers that must attend their workplace during this difficult time), the school staff can supervise your child/children during the hours you attend work within the normal school day. Please email Emma on [email protected] to advise if you are an Essential Worker so we can make plans to support you by supervising your children.

03.01.2022 To our Alex Bay families, Congrats, we made it through term 1 and thanks to our hard working team we have plans, resources and quality learning for whatever happens in term 2. If the school doesn't open under normal conditions know that your child's education and your sanity are our main priority. We will have packs ready for Monday the 20th of April, these packs will include PowerPoints created by the teachers with a clear routine, expectations, and instructions including vo...ice overs, videos and written instructions. They also include all physical resources, materials and extension opportunities that your child might need. As previously advertised and discussed with all parties this Playgroup does not replace the current Playgroup that is usually held at Alexandra Bay Cricket Club it merely offers an opportunity for the children of the community to familiarise themselves with the school.
