21.01.2022 It's time to tell y'all about this incredible show FUCK FABULOUS @fuckfabulous playing @artscentremelbourne from 20 April - 2 May. . In 2019 I collaborated with this eclectic crew of babes for promotional photos when they were debuting at Sydney Mardi Gras. Fast forward to 2021 and this show will be getting the party protest started as part of @midsummafestival GET YOUR TIX! . This is by far one of my most favourite collaborations to date. The entire cast + crew are so, so ...talented and also just wonderful humans! To have the opportunity to do a raw, grungy, punk queer snapshot aesthetic both in colour and black and white is a dream brief come true. All the texture, the sweat, the contorted shapes and growly expressions! I can't wait to share some new hero shots from this series taken last month but for now here is fabulous @yanasbanana @yanaalanabanana with HMUA by @_katemcwilliam styling and set dress by @jnoonie . A little about the show: Serving post-punk, anti-glamour realness, F*ck Fabulous is a radical, multi-artform, variety show with it’s tongue firmly planted in it’s cheeks. Bringing together fierce queers, femmes and rebels in a show that celebrates female-masculinity, rejoices in gender-queer visibility and celebrates femme identities in diverse bodies. Hosted by Yana Alana, this epic ensemble work is where drag, visual art, trash-fashion, dance, circus and live music collide. With performances by circus icon Jess Love, queer side-show clown Dale Woodbridge-Brown, performance artist Nicci Wilks, dance duo Glitter & Snatch, aerial contortionist Seth Sladen, Drag King Koko Ma$$, performance wunderkammer Gabi Barton and our drummer boi Bec Matthews. F*ck Fabulous is an epic ensemble work, representing alternative ideas of sexy, reveling in the ridiculous and a collective reimagining of what it means to be Fabulous.

13.01.2022 It's those midnight hour moody mellows in the laneway with the rain that let the lyrics flow and give the dark day dreaming some room to breathe into those feels that I'm desperately pining for. Right now I just live vicariously through Tristan. He's somewhere behind the club lusting under the radar for a lover in a limbo of colour hues.

11.01.2022 Red gaze haze. . I've long since wanted to see a @catherinedlish robe in person and here it was! After nailing some epic head to toe shots for Evana I wanted to try some shapes and story telling I'd not seen in these epic pieces before. For example, curling up into a floofy blissful state and making strange creature shapes that reminded me of the fashion art porn mags I used to buy from France in highschool that felt fancy AF. . Lex ramble: In these incredibly surreal... times so many of us have lost our livelihoods, particularly those in the hospitality or art and performance industries. This is my stern gentle reminder that supporting freelancers and small biz goes such a long way to keep communities strong and businesses afloat. @evanadelune is one of so many supa spectacular Melbourne-based performers who creates content like a boss for us all to enjoy. She's also a really gifted model and dancer amongst many other talents. . Many underestimate just how much time and effort can go into creating quality image and video content because it's easy to assume with the click of a button on our phones it just happens. But it doesn't. It takes planning and prep, time and emotional and physical energy and labour, not to mention engaging on multiple social platforms to be seen or run a biz these days. And what are many of us doing in iso? We are watching movies and tv, live performances, listening to music, video gaming, learning from tutorials, reading books and scanning Twitter and the Gram for news from our faves. I can't believe my job involves listening to @whiskyfalls talk in that insanely sexy Scottish accent while getting to watch and photograph the way this force of nature of a human moves! . Over lockdown Whisky was a massive part of my journey to reconnect with my flesh inside and out. If you've ever taken one of her classes, ya know what I'm taking about..if you haven't, I've just given you the non-subtle nudge to go and check out her class schedule. She i...s the Slow and Sultry QUEEN but completely embraces experimentation and explorative dance without binary gender boundaries and embodies and teaches what I wish I had experienced more of in my time doing dance when I was younger in that every body is beautiful and that moving in your own individual way is not only okay, it's fucking FANTASTIC and that giggling or making noise when you dance is also such a fucking release! . 05.01.2022 Last week I emerged outta lockdown and my studio was allowed to reopen. It had been five months since I'd been able to be back in my space and eight months waiting to be able to work regularly again. I hit an all-time super outta character low just a few days before this shoot, and I was wondering if I'd be able to peel outta bed and trust that'd I'd be able to show up, be present and trust that I'd still have the hustle for being able to communicate directions, play with i...deas on the spot and continue to experiment with light and movement in ways I haven't before. . Definitely counting my lucky stars that the first shoot outta the gate was with @ashyrosemusic who is always ready for anything, willing to trust the process, get messy, get moving, and also go to those slow quiet places where the rawness is and where the music she creates comes from. It was an epic marathon for us both but holy fuck was is FUN as hell. Can't wait to share her new music out soon and more images from this set! See more

03.01.2022 A totally unplanned, shoot wrapped, video teaser @evieembermusic and I did for fun. Edited this lil' drenched in red clip with a snippet of her single 'Crazy in My Mind' which is crazy good and drops March 12th on all streaming platforms. . Planning to finally get nerd deep into brushing up on my video skills in March while I'm healing from surgery so I can revisit VHS days (yes I'm that wise in age) and start making moving pictures again. Music video directing and erotica films was part of the dream slice, so let's see what happens!
