18.01.2022 Mussolini's girlfriend's Alfa. 1939 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS Berlinetta by Touring which was originally gifted by Italian dictator Benito Mussolini to his mistress... Clara Petacci. After their ''death'', in 1949 the car was shipped to US where it sat in a barn for 21 years. In 1970 an antiques dealer bought the car for $700. In 2001 after changing hands many times the car underwent a 500,000 restoration. Since then she won many awards in various prestigious car shows and events. 11.01.2022 Club photo for the month of December. Life Member Peter Axford's 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT built to Classic Sports Car group S regs which allow for the 1750 engine to be used. Alfa weighs 900Kg with plexiglass side and rear windows. Regulations demand standard brakes, upgraded suspension components but standard suspension pickup points. Restricted to 14 x 6 wheels, 166hp at the wheels, 45mm carbies, close ration gearbox, and LSD. The photo was taken 2019 at Phillip Island Lukey Heights. Note the LH front wheel in tread saver mode.
