In China Ki is known as Chi, in India, Prana. For the Reiki Practitioner, the Reiki energy will be guided by a Higher Intelligence through the Practitioner's hands and flow where it's needed in the client. 06.01.2022 Reiki Attunement An attunement is a Western method of initiating students into the system of Reiki. Called reiju in Japan, when the system moved to the west it became known as an initiation, empowerment, attunement or transformation. An attunement is performed by a Reiki Master, who uses symbols and other gestures in a prescribed way. It can have a profound effect on each individual. An attunement is a powerful clearing of one's body. It is impossible to undo or wipe out.... Universal life energy is available to all, so why is it necessary to receive an attunement or initiation from a Reiki Master. Beth Simmons Stapor wrote, "if you are thinking about taking a Reiki class, then know that the healing energies that you were born with will only expand as Reiki begins to flow through you body, soul and spirit."
