24.01.2022 Morning all introducing our Club Manager, Bradley Boon. Hi, my name is Bradley Boon, I was born in Gippsland in a town called Morwell and grew up in the town next door Moe. I’m Kurnai with connections to Gunditjmara, Wotjabaluk and Dja Dja Wurrung through my mums side and I have Dutch ancestry through my Dads mob who are from a little place called Texel and Friesland. I am one of nine kids ‘ 5 sisters, 3 brothers’ I have two sons 8 and 16 with my partner Belinda of nearly... 23 years. I heard about the program through Mark Atkinson and RFNC and I liked what the club and AEP are about. I have been employed with RFNC as General Manager for nearly 12 months now. I think back to when I first started out work and the one key thing that helped me through was good mentors and listeners. It’s important to have a team around you who you can talk too, seek advice from and lean on when times are tough. Great advice I once received and live by is not blaming others for your mistakes and always be respectful even when you feel respect isn’t warranted. I started my work career like many of our mob at the local co-op in Morwell. When I turned 18, I moved to Melbourne and started working at Telstra with pay tv installations of Foxtel. After a few years working in that space, I went to work at Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service to work as a field officer, spent some time at Victorian Aboriginal Health Service in Mental Health, VACSAL in Gambling Awareness Program, back to VALS while I have lived in Shepparton and the last 12 months at RFNC. I love being around my family and doing things with them that have us outdoors like riding bikes, fishing, gardening etc. I love playing the drums in my band ‘The Deans of Soul’ buying and selling vintage drums, listening to music, walking, soccer, football, talking to people and drinking coffee. During iso I have enjoyed hanging out the back around the fire with family and a nice craft beer or a glass of red.

02.01.2022 Welcome to the AEP Facebook page! There are some amazing things happening behind the scenes so we thought we would reintroduced ourselves. Over the next few weeks the AEP team will be sharing a little bit about who they are & their role within AEP. To kick it off we’ll introduce our newest member to the team. Hi my name is Alice Pettit I was born in Balranald and grew up in Griffith and Robinvale. I’m Wiradjuri, Wemba-Wemba, Nari-Nari on my mothers’ side and Tongan on my... fathers’ side. My partner Ash Miller and I have two beautiful sons, Ash Jnr and Ace, ages 4 and 3 years old. I first heard about AEP through my partner who was apart of the program. My role within AEP is the Administration Officer which I commenced in March 2020. I was previously working at Greater Shepparton City Council and I’m currently studying Bachelor of Human Services and Master of Social work at La Trobe University. I love spending quality time with my family, bike riding & watching my boys ride their motorbikes. Since restrictions we have purchased bikes and a trailer for the kids to sit in and considering I haven’t rode a bike since I was a kid, I forgot how fun it is!

01.01.2022 Introducing our Employment Broker - Mark Atkinson. Hi, I am Mark Atkinson, I was born in Echuca and spent the first 8 years of my life growing up on Cummeragunja before relocating to Shepparton. I’m married and my wife and I have four boys and an entertaining granddaughter. I’m a qualified builder by trade and I have previous experience working in the building industry, mines, security, truck driving, public service and community. ... My connection with AEP was initially through the Rumbalara Football Netball Club. The club established AEP to improve employment opportunities for community as well as job readiness through educational attainment, qualifications, apprenticeships and personal development. I understand the challenges our people face in life and in getting jobs to provide for themselves and their families. The greatest advice I received as a young fulla from my Nan Mary Briggs was to stay in school this is something I have told my kids growing up. I love being a part of the Club, watching my boys play footy and for the last few years spent most of my spare time doing house renovations.
