15.01.2022 South West Metro Pirates Basketball takes very seriously the safety of its participants and spectators. On Friday evening 18th October in the last time slot, t...here was an incident that required the police to attend and assist the stadium and competitions staff (along with some parents) to maintain order. This incident has been forwarded to the police to launch a criminal investigation into the behaviour of those who entered the stadium - not for the purpose of basketball. If you were a witness to the events that occurred and wish to make a statement, can you please email: [email protected] and your details will be forwarded to the QPS so they can obtain your statement. Our venue is under constant video surveillance and the QPS will be using this to correlate the facts of the incident that took place. Our first priority is to conduct a high standard of basketball in the safest environment possible - we will do everything in our power to ensure this continues. See more

We would however encourage all players to... only attend their allocated games and then leave the premises immediately after their game’s conclusion. Any player feeling unwell and presenting with flu like symptoms MUST NOT ATTEND their game. Avoid HI FIVES and opt for elbow bumps instead. Players, wash your hands with soap after your games.
