23.01.2022 PERFORMER SPOTLIGHT Al Haseena Belly Dance and Ma'u Filise We welcome back one of our favourite Sydney dance troupe who have performed at Raqs & Relax since it...'s inception 3 years ago. So wonderful to be able to watch dances from many different parts of the Middle East. We can't wait to see the girls in action with all their hair flipping splendour! AL HASEENA Middle Eastern Dance school will be presenting an Iraqi dance piece from southern Iraq. Featuring Elizabeth and Natalie who have been dancing and learning Oriental dance from Terezka and MaU and now recently have been focusing on Iraqi folkloric dance with MaU at Al Haseena. The beautiful Khouloude who also shares a passion for Iraqi dance has come together to feature in this dynamic piece consisting of traditional rhythms and dance styles of Iraq such as Khashaba, Hachaa and Hewa.

12.01.2022 We welcome another stunning performer, Ma'u Filise of Al Haseena Belly Dance. Ma'u started learning and performing Polynesian music and dance styles with her fa...mily at a young age. At 14, she discovered the beautiful art form of Belly Dance and fell in love with it. Beginning by practising at home on her own and listening extensively to Arabic music, she then joined Oriental Dance Studio, where her enthusiasm and performance strength grew and flourished under Popi's guidance. Today, Ma'u teaches Middle Eastern dance in Wetherill Park. She has been involved with the local Iraqi community for many years, sharing a love of Iraqi folkloric music and dance, which she will be representing at The Cairo Connection on 25 October. Ma'u states "I can wholeheartedly say that my heart has found its place in this particular dance style that I love and respect so much."
