22.01.2022 While it’s always important to look ahead and set goals, it’s just as important to look back and review what’s been before. So here’s my decade in review: Became a sous chef Became a head chef Got myself in some trouble ... Studied and completes certificate 3 & 4 in fitness Left the hospitality industry to begin a career as a Personal Trainer Started a personal training business Travelled overseas for the first time Had a meet & greet with Juventus players Married the love of my life Moved overseas to the UK Started a personal training business in London Watched Juventus lift a trophy in person Travelled to places that I never could’ve dreamed of going too Adopted my best mate Cooper Moved back to Melbourne with my wife and new fur baby Cooper Built a personal training business from scratch again Got myself into some trouble again Built myself back up on a personal level better than ever Moved workplaces to work with the best there is in the industry Welcomed my baby boy Benny into the world Built a personal training business from scratch yet again Coming into the new decade, welcoming another baby into my growing family Studied and learnt from the best of the best in the fitness industry I’ve had money, been broke, hours away from being homeless in another country but pulled through I’ve had friends come, friends go, and real friends stay. New family, old family, and everything in between. As you can see, a lot has happened in the last decade that could well and truly break anyone, but here we go into a new decade with more grit, determination, ambition and bigger goals than ever! All I can say is that I’m thankful and grateful for it all. 2020 LEEEETTTSSSS GOOOOO!!

18.01.2022 8 weeks 8 weeks and 3 days of isolation and I’ve become a birthday victim of isolation. Yes today is my birthday. Thank you, thank you haha. I know everyone is getting a bit anxious and unsettled with restrictions and how slow they’re being lifted, but I’m going to tell you the other side of it.... I went into this isolation period like most others, I couldn’t have cared less for COVID-19, it’s just a flu, everyone will be fine, blah blah blah". As most of you will know, 2 weeks into isolation my son was born at 24 weeks gestation, which meant he was highly at risk of this new virus which was attacking people that were at high risk or underlying health problems. So I know we’re all itching for gyms, pubs, clubs, cafes, restaurantsetc to open back up and return back to normal, but I’m here to admit that these restrictions have personally worked in my favour. It kept visitors out of the hospital from visiting Sammy, it kept my wife and I away from our jobs where we're around hundreds of people a day, so basically I’m going to say that I personally think it gave Sammy a better chance of survival. For someone who has been in the workforce since he was 13 years old and is now in the 30 something club, it’s been an adjustment but also a well needed one that made me appreciate so much more and also be thankful for the measures that were put in place in our lives. So I for one, don’t really care when these restrictions are lifted and it’s purely for selfish reasons of the health of Sammy. Don’t worry if you think that I don’t care about all the people losing their businesses and jobs, I’m in with them too. My business is basically non existent, I’m pretty much jobless for the first time in nearly 20 years, so I get it, but maybe some times a change in perspective is needed to see the other side of people’s story. #isoupdate #isolation #thoughts #fatherandson #perspective

17.01.2022 Merry Christmas from my family to yours

06.01.2022 So you’ve put on a little weight after Christmas? How can you lose it? The answer is quiet blunt and simple really. Go back to doing what you were before Christmas. That most likely means, less sweet treats less or no alcohol... move more because we all know that we generally move less on holidays unless we’re in a foreign place sightseeing eat more whole foods hit your protein target get back ok your training program eat regular meals instead of snacking and grazing (your not an antelope) Will you need to be in a caloric deficit? Sure it can help, but the majority of scale weight that increased will be inflammation rather than actual fat gain. As you can see in the first photo, I weighed in at 87.2kg. After the Christmas and New Years festivities, I hit 90.1kg, but 3 days later being back to my usual routine, I quickly dropped back to 88.4kg. What did I do to drop nearly 2kg in 3 days? Everything I mentioned above, and no I actually didn’t go into a caloric deficit, I decided to go back to maintenance for myself. If you need help with your health and fitness journey for 2020, send me a message so we can organise your consultation. #girlsthatlift #girlswholift #personaltrainer #melbourne #education #gym #brain #motivation #health #healthy #performance #bodybuilding #fit #fitness #fitspo #fitfam #fitnessmotivation #strong #strongwomen #strongman #coach #life #corporate #gymmotivation #insta #instafit #supplements @ Alias Health & Performance

05.01.2022 Here we go again Another round of restrictions easing, another round where gyms, PT studios, yoga studios and everyone else that falls under the fitness banner has been left behind. I’ve tried to stay away from all the news, campaigns, social media about the lockdown this time, unlike the others, but ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Let me tell you a little about what I and my amazing colleagues at @enterprisefitnessau do everyday.... Everyday we thrive on the thought of not coming to work and earn money, but fulfilling our passions for changing people’s lives. Every damn day we don’t just help people lose weight or get in shape, we draw out paths and plans to help our clients think better, sleep better, concentrate better, perform better at work and at home; have more energy to play with their kids, have a better sex life with their partner, overcome eating disorders and self conscience issues. This is all through getting people moving, exercising, teaching them to eat better, manage their stress better, encouraging positive thoughts and behaviour, and most of all being with them by their side for every step of their journey. Now on Friday morning while the majority of people get to go back to work and do what they love, my colleagues and I will continue to sit at home bound by ludicrous government restrictions that make no sense. If your PT, coach, gym, yoga studio, Pilates studio or any fitness centre I’ve missed helps you in your life, SHARE IT! SEND IT TO YOUR LOCAL MP! SEND IT TO THE VICTORIAN GOVERNMENT! SPREAD THE WORD FAR AND WIDE! @ Enterprise Fitness

02.01.2022 The couch can be a wonderful place. With the range of streaming services available straight to your smart tv these days it’s easy to watch a weekend go right before your eyes. Here’s the thing though, none of those tv series will help you on your way to better health and performance in life (no shit Sherlock). I know what your saying, but I just want to sit and do nothing, trust me I know, I could sit in front of the tv playing PlayStation all day if life allowed it, but ...that’s just not how it goes people. So here’s what I do I use it as a reward system. Once I get everything I need done for the day finished, i.e programs, meal prep, helping out with Benny, etc. Then I can sit down and use my free time to catch up on some game time. So for you to help you perform better at life, go for a walk, get out of the house, do all your allocated training or steps, then sit down and binge on your show. Let me know how you go trying this out #girlsthatlift #girlswholift #personaltrainer #melbourne #education #gym #brain #motivation #health #healthy #performance #bodybuilding #fit #fitness #fitspo #fitfam #fitnessmotivation #strong #strongwomen #strongman #coach #life #corporate #gymmotivation #insta #instafit #supplements

01.01.2022 I'm going to be frank off the bat, I despise the majority of mental health posts from most people on Instagram, especially the influencers. They are mostly a "woah is me" like and follow baiting posts. This is not that! You might ask then, what experience do I have with mental health issues? Trust me, plenty. Those who are close to me know I could probably tick every box to qualify for depression at many points in my life, let alone the ...amount of shit that I've seen and gone through. But this is NOT about that or me, this is about ! This is about how you can improve mental health, not only during isolation but in everyday normal life so you can perform better. Now if you're suffering from anxiety or depression or something similar, odds are that either your diet or sleep sucks, not always, but I am going to generalise here. Now generally when either sleep or diet is off, the other will suffer, resulting in a vicious cycle that needs to be broken. In my experience, attacking sleep first and optimising yourself to make sure your getting 7-9 hours of QUALITY sleep is going to be key. ? ' : Set yourself a bed time routine. Go to sleep the same time every night and wake up at the same time everyday. Turn off all electronic devices an hour or 2 before your bedtime. This means not falling asleep in front of Netflix or even having a TV in the bedroom. Make your bedroom as dark as the batcave. Read a real physical book before bed. No iPads, Kindles, smart phones or Laptops Meditate before bed. I use the app called "One Giant Mind" Start a grateful journal before bed. Write down 5 things you're grateful for in that day. Sex If you find that sleep is still suffering while implementing the above measures, here's a few supplements that can help as well: Magnesium (bisglycinate or threonate strains) L-theanine GABA Melatonin 5-HTP Lemon Balm Ashwaganda/Withania Essential Oils such as chamomile or ylang ylang Tart Cherry With better quality sleep, your food choices will improve due to better cognitive function as well as less inflammation in the body and a more stable blood glucose level.

01.01.2022 Happy 1st Birthday to my little Champion Benny!! I can't believe it's already been a year since you came into our lives and made them better than I could ever imagine they could be. You're smart, cheeky, funny and your smile lights up the darkest of rooms on the darkest of days. You're the most thoughtful and caring little kid I've ever known even at only 1 year old. You drive me nuts with your incessant obsession with The Wiggles taking over my TV but I wouldn't change anyt...hing about you, you really are the greatest thing that's ever happened. Although today isn't the day we had envisioned for you or the day that you deserve, I hope it's still the greatest day, and there will be many more to make up to you when all this craziness is over. I love you my little man, more than you'll ever know or imagine. Thank you for being you and for making this past year the greatest year of my life. Love Dad xx See more
