25.01.2022 It's a beautiful Alice Springs spring day and the community garden is looking glorious in the morning light. Today from 9am to 11am Food for Alice will be open so come along and fill your baskets with fresh, just picked local produce. Recycle your small fruit punnets at the garden.... There are mulberries and local cooking dates available. You won't miss the aroma of fresh local Duyu coffee wafting in the breeze. Make sure to relax and have a brew in the sunshine by the M...andala Garden which is glowing in the morning sunlight. On Sunday we have our weekly Working Bee from 8am and we'd love to see volunteers come along for some fine exercise and gardening fun lead by our energetic Convener Bruce Simmons. The Alice Springs Community Garden is in Burke St Eastside. See more
23.01.2022 Food for Alice is open from 9am to 11am Saturday so drop in to the Community Garden in Burke St Eastside for freshly picked herbs, greens, radishes, bread, pickles, jam, honey and tasty dates. If you are looking for some locally grown onion seedlings for your spring garden, we have some packs of California Red and Hunter River White Onions wrapped in newspaper, ready to plant. Sit by the Mandala Garden in the sunshine and enjoy a hot Duyu coffee made by our young Batistas.
21.01.2022 A big Thank You to Bunnings for the donation of dozens of plants to the community garden. There are all kinds of onions, leeks, basil, thyme, beetroot, capsicum, kale, butternut pumpkins and (alas) some tender peas. Carnations, statice, dahlias and a variety of daisies. We would like to offer them to garden members if you have space in your plots and to any members keen on a planting spree in the community beds. Come down this Arvo if you're keen and bare in mind it's hot... now so you'll need to visit daily and give them an extra squirt or two with the hose till they're established. Happy planting. See more
19.01.2022 Hi Garden folks, Official direction as per new Covid Conditions and Direction from Chief Health Officer. We now all need to sign in everywhere we go and the Garden is no exception. From November 30 all shops, businesses and organisations must have Covid sign in sheets and the QR code for use with 'The Territory Check in' app, downloadable from Apple and Play stores. ... You are required to check in every time you're going to be there for more than 15 minutes for contact tracing. Please use the pen and folder in the box at the front gate or download the Territory Check In App and scan the QR code every time you visit the garden. More information from www.coronavirus.nt.gov.au thank you.
18.01.2022 The Alice Springs Community Garden Network grows. Great work everyone out at Gillen today. We're looking forward to sharing this journey with you.
17.01.2022 Working Bee this Sunday 8am Compost to turn and a new one to make. Time to start mulching beds in general. Some clearing out of winter crops in community beds. Buffeling if anyone interested. All working bees from herein through summer will commence at 8am.
14.01.2022 Good Morning gardeners. We have heaps of plants here at the garden donated to us from Bunnings which need planting out. So we're asking for volunteers to come... and help us plant them today. It is going to be quite hot but we do have a chance of some good rain in the next few days so that will help them settle in. There is also plenty of food in the garden beds like different basil's, bigmobs of zucchini, oregano and garlic chives in the front terrace beds and the Mandala Garden has all of your fresh herbs for your Christmas stuffing. Keep your eyes open for the cucumbers and purple beans near the Solar Pergola as they'll be producing soon. There are lots of spring onions in the sale behind the strawberry patch and there is a corn patch down near the shed but they're a few weeks off too but keep checking. The pumpkins and watermelons are few weeks away from ripen too so please don't be tempted to pick them yet. We will keep you informed when they're ready. See more

09.01.2022 Food for Alice is over for the year but will be open again in early February 2021. If garden members would like to come down to the garden there are some zucchinis, tomatoes, figs, cucumbers and grapes available on the front verandah of the kitchen and don't forget to look in the fridge as well. These are all free to members today but we do welcome any donations. Someone will be here until early afternoon for nonmember FfA customers and members can enter any time.
