23.01.2022 This is the experience of a life time. I have 3 weeks in Ramingining (Arnhem land) with my childhood friend Helen. She has opened up an opportunity to spend 2weeks in the local gallery www.bulabula.com.au where I am so lucky to be doing a cultural exchange. I will post some pictures as I go but this was the trip here on the plane. Such a beautiful country!

22.01.2022 I finished my basket with help from the ladies and was gifted the beautiful basket that Mary is holding, it was so kind of them! Today I worked on a kete to show them how we created a basket as the others were just small kono.

20.01.2022 Thanks so much Daphne and Salena for my beautiful earings! I love them! All natural dyes. I was also given a beautiful woven basket and finished mine but I left it in the gallery and I want to get a picture with the artists. Feeling so blessed. Also had fun with Grace making some small woven ika/fish, then I have her some muka earings, we are both showing them off in the picture! Lol

18.01.2022 Out again with Evonne, Mary and Helen harvesting. Such fun! #bulabulaarts

11.01.2022 Thank you to Mary, Margaret and Evonne for looking after me today and sharing weaving! This has been wonderful to get to share with each other. Thanks to Hilary and Sally at Bula bula art gallery too for making this happen. If you want to check out the amazing art being created here go to www.bulabula.com.au #bulabulaarts

05.01.2022 What an eventful 2 days. I was expecting to settle and spend time with Helen but the beautiful Yolngu ladies (traditional land owner's) of north-eastern Arnhem Land kindly came and took Helen and I fishing, we also walked on country and I got to try kangaroo tail after it was cooked on the fire. Today we went to the shop and before we knew it we were off with Evonne Munuygnu and her sister Mary Dhapalany (sisters to the famous David gulpilil) harvesting Gunga (pandanus spiralis) and natural dye materials, roots and leaves. It was a great adventure! Tomorrow I am off to the gallery to see how the next few weeks will unfold. Here are a few pictures to enjoy and yes the water we went finishing in did have crocodiles in it.
