24.01.2022 A huge congratulation to Harrison Knott for his 2020 NT Sports Awards Junior Sportsperson of the Year nomination, an amazing achievement and we wish Harrison all the best. We applaud you, Harrison How lucky are we at the Alice Springs Swimming Club to have an awesome group of volunteers. Congratulations to Karen and Michelle on their 2020 NT Sports Awards Volunteer of the Year nominations.... One of the greatest gifts you can give is your time; making a difference in someone else’s life will bring you pride and pride will bring such a knock-on effect in your life Joy, satisfaction, love and happiness. As quoted by Gandhi The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others. Three cheers for our volunteers x Article from the Centralian Advocate: Friday 13/03/2020 Photos Courtesy of ASSC

04.01.2022 ASSC getting their swim on hot and humid but check out this view. Looking forward to some good times in Katherine. Alice Springs Swimming Club has a strong team of eighteen swimmers at the Katherine Swimming Carnival this weekend. Seasoned campaigners Lilly and Ben Bloomer, Harrison and Anthony Knott, Hannah Markham and JJ Siah, are keen to build on previous performances. Competing in a large number of events, swimmers have been showing good form and are hoping to b...e rewarded with outstanding performances and PB’s. JJ recently broke the 10-11 years Northern Territory short course 100m breaststroke record, with a time of 1:31.02, and is keen to test herself against the long course times. With solid training behind them, brothers Paddy and Thomas van der Geest-Hester are challenging themselves to longer races, including the 400m freestyle and 200m backstroke, showing their versatility. Big improvers Megan Graves, Joshua Knott and Thomas Markham have been building momentum and smashing their times in recent completion. This has given them the confidence to try new events. Daniel Rando, Ruby Bell, Aaron Graves and Bahzi Nicholas have all recorded amazing improvements and will leave nothing in the tank. Having worked hard to improve their technique, younger swimmers Chelsea Brodie, Aquaria Nicholas and Molly Strauss are competing in their first major meet outside of Alice Springs and looking to gain valuable experience for future competitions. The team have been training hard and excited to be given the opportunity to swim against their top-end rivals.
