Remember this is a free public map and will be available online via Council’s social media, website and some local media. 23.01.2022 The Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics is undertaking a review of the cycle and shared path networks in the major urban centres across the Northern Territory. The project involves a strategic review that delivers recommendations for improvements, enhanced connectivity and network extension. Stakeholder and community feedback is essential to ensure the reviews consider user requirements. Stage 1 of consultation is open from 25 November to 18 December. 18.01.2022 Held annually on the International Day of People with a Disability 3 December, the Mayoral Awards are an acknowledgement of the invaluable contribution that individuals have made to enhance the lives of others living with disability within our community Council congratulates the below category winners and all nominations. 2020 Michele Castagna Medal Winner - Virginia Heydon. As the Manager of Community Cultural Development with Incite Arts, Virginia has consulted and deve...loped work with diverse community groups, especially people with disability. Virginia has championed the rights of people with disability in Alice Springs in myriad ways through her work with Incite Arts. 2020 Noteworthy Award - Winner - Sandy Robinson. She currently sits on the PEER Support Advisory Committee providing expert advice to Disability Advocacy Service through their PEER Support Program. She is a positive, helpful person always prepared to volunteer and lend a hand volunteering in many capacities, organisations and events in Central Australia. 2020 Champion Award - Winner - King Marong. He is a Disability Support Worker at Life Without Barriers. King Marong leads the music therapy component of the Alice Springs Community Pathways Program every morning at Life Without Barriers. King brings an incredible energy and enthusiasm to his work every day, and is adored by participants, clients and colleagues.

17.01.2022 Kerbside bin collection notice: if your bin collection day is a Friday please note that for Christmas Day (Friday 25 December) collection has been rescheduled to Thursday 24 December, and New Year’s Day (Friday 1 January) collection has been rescheduled to Thursday 31 December 2020. Residents to please have bins ready for collection by 6am that day. All other scheduled collections will be carried out as normal.

09.01.2022 Have you seen the colourful new public art piece adorning the outside walls of the Alice Springs Public Library? This was a collaborative project between Alice Springs Town Council & Bindi Mwerre Anthurre Artists. Council would like to thank Bindi artist Billy Tjampijinpa Kenda for his depiction of central desert life as inspired by his childhood in Jay Creek. Council acknowledges the grant support from Arts NT: Strategic Arts Program Access for Artists with Disabilities grant to make this mural happen.
