24.01.2022 Little cool down at my gym at Patnem beach, South Goa. Watching this clip tells me my forward folds are not great, not necessarily due to tight hamstrings but more a restriction in my lower back and funnily enough I am experiencing a lot of back pain recently. For me, tight hip flexors are usually to blame. Lets see what I can do over the next 4 weeks. Thanks to Science in Sport for fuelling me throughout my time in India. XX

So STOP FOCUSSING ON WHAT EVERYONE ELSE IS DOING!!! Fitness and health should not about being fitter or better than someone else, its should be about being a better YOU, as goddamn cheesy as that is. I am a trainer and do you think I'm an uber motivated all the time and good at everything? No, ...no, no, not at all!! I am constantly faced with challenges in my own fitness and my body's willingness to cooperate. I have to drag myself to training sessions sometimes too. Human yeah, human. YOU ARE NOT SUPER HUMAN. You are uniquely you, so use that to your advantage. Accept the things you cannot change and bloody well change the things you can. Im sick of seeing idiots on Instagram depicting their healthy lifestyles that are blatantly obsessive and misguiding for so many people who are looking to lose weight or have body image issues to start with. The majority of these lifestyle bloggers are nothing but vain, rich kids with too much time on their hands. The Raw Monotarians are the WORST!!! "On Mondays I ONLY eat watermelon" ... Get real and go to Africa, or India or any developing country and understand what malnourishment looks like. Starving Africans are also Monotarians living on approximately nothing everyday, amazing willpower! This has all gotten so so so far away from what is realistic and feasible for the general population. To me healthy living is its about balance, acknowledging traditions and cultural customs, moving as much as possible in which ever way suits you and having a piece of cake and a bloody laugh about it all along the way.

Learning to recruit the abdominals and pelvic floor whilst performing big movements is key for new mothers. From a stable place more load and intensity can be added and movements can be advanced. TOP REASONS REGULAR MEALS WILL HELP YOU LOSE BODY FAT AND MAINTAIN YOUR WEIGHT: - Keeps your blood sugar and appetite stable, which keeps you more in control and less likely to binge when you eat.... - Keeps concentration and mood balanced, when you eat a big meal your body diverts blood to your stomach to digest, this can leave you feeling sleepy and foggy. Waiting too long between meals can make you feel agitated and irritable (hangry). - Increases your metabolism - YES you read it right. A lot of people think less is more when it comes to food - no, regular meals will boost your metabolism. Think of it like throwing wood on the fire, your body starts burning, but if you let it smoulder the fire stops burning. - Maintains your muscle mass, when you dont eat the most readily available source of fuel for your body is your muscle, the body is surprisingly resistant to lose fat. When your body needs fuel and is running on nothing it will burn your lean muscle mass (your gains), this process is called catabolism. Extremism in any direction is never a good thing and will only lead to trouble down the track. Eat for health, get plenty of movement of all types, spend time with people who make you tick and every now and then, go to town on a really bloody big piece of cake because we are not on this planet to say no all the time!
