23.01.2022 Check out our newest blog. As a practitioner, this case was challenging, yet enjoyable to run. As there should be in any sensible litigation, there were sound arguments for the Husband and Wife's respective positions in relation to the determination of the Husband's application for a divorce in Australia. My opponent and I each made robust and technical arguments and submissions for our respective clients, but ultimately, we successfully argued for the Wife that Australia was a clearly inappropriate forum to determine the divorce issue in circumstances where she had a competing application for annulment before the Family Court in India. Our blog explains why.

22.01.2022 I celebrated a birthday this week and have been incredibly spoilt, caught up with family and friends and even made a quick escape down the coast for the day. Alas, it hasn't all been Shiraz and pork belly pizza (yum!), I have also been keeping busy with a side project for the College of Law. I'm in the final stages of the first phase of content review and development for the college's PLT program Wills and Estates course. This has been a great opportunity to expand my networks in this area and brush up on all the latest legislation and case law.

22.01.2022 I am participating in 'Make a Move' for Movember. I'll be running/walking 60km this month for the 60 men lost to suicide every hour across the world. Other members of our team are doing Mo-vember, all in the name of raising funds for men's health. 22.01.2022 This has definitely been a highlight of the career so far. It is the special cases like these that make all the hours of study and time away from my own family so worth it. Despite that there was not the pomp and ceremony of a face-to-face Court Hearing that there would have been if not for COVID-19, the video link Hearing was just as special and full of emotion for the clients (and maybe just a little bit for me ).

15.01.2022 The Family Court has provided some useful guidance about complying with parenting Orders during COVID-19. The best interests of the children are, as always, pa...ramount. Parents should work together wherever possible and safe to do so to make alternate arrangements for their children where strict compliance with Orders is highly difficult or impossible. It is important to be collaborative and think creatively during these uncertain times so that children can continue to spend time or communicate with both parents. 08.01.2022 It was an absolute privilege to move the admission of this very impressive young lady, Laura, as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of the ACT today. I met Laura when we were paired as a mentor/mentee match through the University of Canberra Women Lawyers Mentor Program (UC WLMP). This program is especially close to my heart having co-founded the UC WLMP during my time at university. Laura became one of our successors who carried on and grew the program following my graduation and the graduation of its remaining inaugural members. I am incredibly proud of her and all her achievements and I wish her only the very best for her future legal career.
