23.01.2022 Waiting for my porridge after a morning pranayama session - cool little cafe.
21.01.2022 An epidemic of depression is happening. It is getting so serious there’s increasing talk of bringing psychedelic therapy back (LSD and Psilocybin). The idea is ...that ‘experience’ can break the ‘looping’ mental state of depression. But I’ve been there and done that, and written 3 books about it and my verdict is use lifestyle medicine instead! This week I’m going to explain why and how. It was drug highs and trips that created my suicidal depression, and reverse-engineering their effects with chi that brought me back out and then, to my surprise, the natural highs kept getting better. This is the antidote to depression and we can all get there with a chi & passion boosting lifestyle, and power-packed Chinese herbs and supplements including Redox. Join in and find out how to ignite your passion and prevent depression in this week’s webinar PSYCHEDELICS, PASSION & DEPRESSION Thursday 15th at 12pm Qld time, 1pm (Victoria, ACT and NSW time) Register: bit.ly/jostwebinar See more
21.01.2022 There are so many amazing and inspiring people here in India, for the past 4 weeks I’ve walked around getting stopped by smiling Indians (mostly on their yearly pilgrimage to temples here in the north) politely asking for a selfie, so in fits of internal laughter I decided to jump the gun and get in first with the request of a selfie (this is so out of my comfort zone - not sure if I’ve ever taken a selfie until now) - it started with people and naturally progressed to cows, monkeys and later a beer in an alcohol free state (please don’t tell the authorities). Ok they’re not all selfies.
21.01.2022 Arrived in India for a couple of months of training, adventure and Perspective expansion. My first room and the view of the Ganges.

13.01.2022 IN YOUR GUT I remember my confusion as a boy when one of my teacher said, What does your gut say? I had no idea what that meant. Our gut and our brains are i...ntimately connected. Psychological health and the health of our gut are entwined. Recent research has focused on discoveries related to the gut microbiome and probiotics. I would not be surprised if there are many more associations to come. In Taoist practice, there is the concept of the Lower Dantian, which means, the Field of Cultivation, or more specifically, the Field of the Elixir of Immortality. One of the central practices of meditation and Taijiquan is therefore to put your mind in your gut. Whatever the connection, putting the mind and gut into harmony is the beginning of the Way. ________ https://www.scmp.com//brain-gut-connection-how-tcm-has-kno

09.01.2022 We are not meant to be so overcommitted and pushing hard relentlessly through life. Health comes from living to a rhythm not a schedule. People often say that r...hythm is not realistic, their days are scheduled down to the minute to try and fit everything in. But this version of ‘realistic’ is seeing 60% of the population develop a chronic lifestyle disease. There’s no doubt in my mind that it’s time for a grassroots health rhythm revolution. We need to get back in touch with natural cycles, our lives depend on it, and the easiest one is the daily 24 hour chi cycle. There’s nothing like getting through the day feeling supported and being here on earth becomes so much easier and so much more pleasant. If we all keep doing what everyone else is doing, we’ll be heading towards 90% of the population with lifestyle diseases. Be a health revolutionary by making little lifestyle changes right in front of everyone! For example, refuse to eat lunch at your desk (especially if you are a manager). Step outside, get away from that sense of urgency. Or cook wholesome food and take it to work in a thermos. You’ll be energised and refreshed with no 3.30itis. Things start feeling less urgent, other people’s expectations less relevant. You gain time by taking this time. Others will notice your calm attitude, emotional balance and glowing health, and will ask questions. Change happens. We start seeing each other as fellow souls on the journey, we spread peace and wellbeing, we rewrite the future. We have the internet to share what works and what is good. These are enlightening times. Don’t waste them. #healthrevolution #minimalism #nomorestress See more
09.01.2022 This is not about wealth, it’s about values. Comparing your childrens achievements doesn't improve your relationship with them. Inspired By: Rich Dad Poor Dad book
08.01.2022 Loneliness is now considered to be a lifestyle disease and lifestyle medicine has the cure. As soon as you meet someone the Lungs engage. You ‘get a feeling’ (y...our Lungs provide feelings and sensations). If your organs are healthy contact with people can feel good. If your organs are undernourished interacting with people can make you feel exposed and vulnerable. You don’t know how to communicate, you feel like you don’t fit in, contact becomes painful and stressful and you start to withdraw socially. It’s not people that are the issue, it’s your Lungs. Given that it is now common to have a lifestyle that weakens the organs, loneliness is increasing. Independence (healthy contact) and a strong sense of identity is the lifestyle medicine grail. In Chinese medicine the strength of our sense of identity depends on how dedicated we are to cultivating our chi, and how we conduct yourself with others. Cultivate chi via chi practices and lifestyle, and we will act honourably; act honourably and we build chi. The two are interdependent and inseparable. Every contact with people either builds or disperses chi. When you ‘lose it’ and throw emotional grenades which have a negative impact on others, you weaken your chi. But when you act nobly you are polishing your armour and raising your shield. People can do you wrong, trash you behind your back, cheat on you, or whatever, but with strong chi you will respond honourably. This, in turn, builds your chi. www.TheLifestyleMedicineMan.com See more
08.01.2022 Just got back from a little hike in the mountains - 10 hours on a bus to get to Gangotri and another 7 hours walk (16km) to Bhojbasa though it only took 5 hours to get back. Amazing place - Challenging journey.
07.01.2022 Environment doesn’t mean location, though if you can’t change the environment of the location you may need change location to change the environment.
07.01.2022 Self-sabotage holds us back from destiny, but in TCM self-sabotage (all the unhealthy behaviours like procrastination, listening to the inner critic, repeating ...actions that you know will have negative outcomes etc) is not in your head, it is the manifestation of organ imbalances and these come from lifestyle factors. If you rush your meals or eat while stressed-out, for example, you interrupt the descending of stomach chi. The stomach is like a peacemaker, the U.N. ambassador of the organs, it conducts meetings to harmonise different organ interests (eg our liver has a different motive than our spleen) so they can all work together. Just changing the way you eat (slowly and with LOVE) can make sure the daily round table stomach discussions go well, your organs are in great shape, they defeat self-sabotaging behaviours and boost self-worth. We are all naturally valuable. www.thelifestylemedicineman.com See more
