25.01.2022 So whilst working on a new WW2 session for the
24.01.2022 PORT TILLAMOOK ROUTE Updated to TRS19 V2 Over the years several people have advanced this route through earlier versions of Trainz, and finally into TRS19. However many assets from textures to rolling stock have been used that are not available to everyone, ie, not on the DLS or built into Trainz. Hopefully I have now corrected that as well as many faulty industries and road/rail crossings, possibly caused by bringing it into TRS19 from earlier versions. It is available NOW on my website, and on the DLS in a couple of days. There are a number of extra industries and you may now supply the shipyard, whereas before no provision for this was made. Enjoy.
23.01.2022 With final tweaking of the Bathurst Route being done, another session has also been completed for it. I'm hoping to release it by the end of this month, ie, in one week. Meanwhile I've used google earth and TranzDem to create the ground contours for the next route, to be set in the 1940s, in northern Queensland. More info later. Photo of extensions started near Bowenfels circa 1920s.
21.01.2022 Firstly, the new Facebook layout is utter rubbish! Took some searching just to figure out how to write a post. This should be available up front, not hidden in some menu. Facebook is beyond stupid. During a time of world-wide crisis this is no time to make massive major chances, shame on them. (The box for writing is so tiny!! Now for Trains/z. I have uploaded three new sessions, 1 for the Warwick route, one for the Weddin NSW route, both made in Tane SP3 and 1 for the Heales...ville route in TRS19. My disappointment with TRS19 grows, so much in it doesn't work, it is functionally inferior to Tane IMHO. Unfortunately the company refuses to accept facts, so we are forced to tolerate it ^_^ Meanwhile I continue to update the Bathurst route in TRS19 and also working on updating it in Tane, and creating sessions for the TRS19 version.
21.01.2022 Some screenshots of the almost completed Bathurst Route, some 95 kilometres of mainline with more than 45 industries to add to the game experience.
19.01.2022 Meanwhile work on the Townsville route has started, but won't be complete for a couple of years, just like the Bathurst Route.
19.01.2022 Update on the Bathurst Route. Further tweaking continues as we speak, some splines updated with later versions, touch up to paint work (textures) as well as testing another session for it continues. Currently 3 sessions will be available, including an introductory one where you can be the passenger on a guided tour. Even an aerial session will be available.
18.01.2022 NEW ROUTE RELEASE:- Bathurst to Lithgow, as per previous post. AUD only $19.95 or US$13.32 approx.... 4 sessions included, more to follow. ^_^
18.01.2022 The complete route with traffic is now available on my website, for FREE. It will be on the Trainz DLS in a few days, although a version without traffic is already available. Two sessions are also on the DLS. Enjoy.
17.01.2022 Work continues on the Townsville Route, with a visit by the RMS Queen Mary. In 1941 this ship along with many others including the Mauritania, took troops from New Zealand and Australia to North Afica.
17.01.2022 CHRISTMAS SPECIAL:- Given we’ve had a world-wide year of hell, and now with Christmas approaching we can put it behind us, I’ve decided to drop the price of the Bathurst Route, built in TANE SP4, to $9.95 USD, about $13.38 Australian. So head over to https://alikiwistrainzaddons.com.au At this stage a TRS19 version is still underway and with a slight chance may be available by the New Year.
17.01.2022 Apart from the routes mentioned, I've updated a couple of other routes, including "The Waiau Branch (NZ) TANE V2" and "1930 Cornish Mini -Full". I've also created session for both, the later including one set in 1942, ie WW2. The session is called "Penzance 1942" and can be found via your games DLS (via CM) or on the website.
15.01.2022 Delving into Trainz paid content system where I'd originally planned to sell the Bathurst Route T:ane version, I've found their requirement which is ONLY TRS19 versions will now be accepted, has another restriction making this difficult. Owning TRS19 isn't good enough it seems, you must buy the Platinum version at least as their system for uploading content to the DLC has only been made available to the higher version. Therefore I will be releasing it soon on my website and at this stage I don't know if/when I'll spent the money (that filthy and rare word) to upgrade my TRS19 version so I can offer it through N3V. Time will tell. Meanwhile I've completed a couple of new sessions for the Bathurst to Lithgow route, and done some more work on the Townsville Route (circa 1940s).
14.01.2022 Another new session has been added to the store. This one is for the lovely East Kentucky 3 V1.1 route, a double-headed diesel coal service covering just under three hours of driving. Look for, East Kentucky Session 4 Big Coal CSX for a mere 50 cents! Another session (steam) will be available shortly for the Healesville (Victoria) route.
13.01.2022 Nearly completed updated the East Kentucky route and working on a couple of sessions for it. Still checking for floating grasses, some seem to have turned 90 degrees to hang out over embankments. Just wish I'd done this in SP2 instead of that horrible SP4. Hopefully I'll have it finished in a couple of days? What is your experience of SP4? I found a mass of broken industries and features.
13.01.2022 Whilst the new Bathurst to Lithgow route is almost complete with testing underway and sessions being created for it, circa 1920 - 1930, preliminary work has started on a new and even bigger route. In fact it may be too big and have to be scaled back slightly but time will tell. Talking of time, the Bathurst route has taken two years, so the next one may take just as long even though I'm using a a special program called TranzDem to map the area and do the contour work for me. Meanwhile another screenshot from the Bathurst route showing the Bathurst Goods Shed area.
12.01.2022 Time is running out on this sale, and with more than 45 industries and 95 kms of mainline track, there are endless possibilities.
10.01.2022 Another free session for the Zig-Zag route, circa 1910. Note, I hope to release the new BATHURST TO LITHGOW route, circa 1920-30s tomorrow with four sessions included.
08.01.2022 https://alikiwistrainzaddons.com.au/shop/ols/products/ NEW RELEASE:- After two years of work, the 95 kilometre, Bathurst to Lithgow route has been released. Started in Tane SP2, it was finalised in SP4. This route includes over 45 interactive industries and comes with 4 sessions included with it. Additional sessions are also in the making. Enjoy.
07.01.2022 Added to my blog on the website, always something is being developed. https://alikiwistrainzaddons.com.au/f/more-added
07.01.2022 As if I didn't have enough to do, I tried to create a session for the Port Tillamook route, in the TRS19 verion which Stouthm had released 2 verions. Although I had the latest (TRS19+), I immediately found problems with the AI refusing to navigate to 2 industries with a note saying missing junction lever. On investigation I found no such problem, but saw that the display at the bottom showed the track ending at the far side of the industry, but on driving through manually wha...t was in fact a continuous line, I did not derail. Moving the track found no breaks, but finally I spotted a real oddity, there was track under the industry track! Somehow the industry had connected to the track, but track had been added under it! Probably a TRS19 fault when the route was imported from TANE (still more stable than TRS19 IMHO). Further investigation found 9 industries that were broken like that, and I found old YARN intersections and road splines which had not been replaced when the majority had been updated to YARNish assets. There was only one option, with permission, and that was to fix the route. A few other oddities and fixes have been done and in a couple of days I will upload it to the DLS and my website as Port Tillamook TRS19 V2. Now, back to building the Townsville route.
06.01.2022 BATHURST TO LITHGOW ROUTE TRS19 Coming soon. Pending some feedback, the TRS19 version is almost ready for release. Initially it will only be available on my website, but if N3V and TRS19 SP2 co-operate, it may also be available through them. Once I'm certain I am happy with it I'll let you know when it's being released.
05.01.2022 Since uploading the East Kentucky 4 Route, I've become aware I forgot to include the region file. Just as well as it appears Dermmy included a number of 'traffic' items for Yarnish roads (yet it still had old Yarn roads.) There was also one I created out of Car11, which I've already uploaded to the DLS together with
05.01.2022 "The Great Zig-Zag" Route. There are nine sessions for this route including, 'Cattle Run', 'Double Headed Sheep Run', 'Morning Passenger Run', 'New Coal Run', 'Works Train', 'Zig-Zag Rescue Service', and 'Zig-Zag Up Mixed Goods'. These sessions may be found via the DLS or by visiting my website on the link above.
03.01.2022 Work is progressing on bringing the Bathurst Route into TRS19, along with some sessions, both from T:ane and new.
01.01.2022 Additional Info. Of the four bird sounds I recorded and added for the game, 2 are Australian Eastern Whipbird sounds (think "Skippy" TV show), and 2 are of the Black Cockatoo. The first 3 are already on the Trainz DLS, so if you already own the game in the either of the two versions I've mentioned, you can download them for free. Look for Oz Bird 1 - 3.
01.01.2022 Meanwhile, I've started another smaller project, updating the somewhat old East Kentucky 3 route. Set in the 1960s-90s period, I'm replacing cardboard type trees with realistic speed trees which are seasonal. All roads, track and bridges are now updated with newer assets, and I'm studied the species of trees growing there and using them where-ever possible. I've also add an engine coaling station at Hazard and two water columns so you can refuel the steam engines, if you use them.
