24.01.2022 This year we were planning to debut at the Gawler show and unfortunately due to COVID the following notification was advised Due to the worldwide coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and ongoing containment measures for the staging of public events, the Gawler A H & F Society has made the very difficult decision to cancel the 164th Gawler Show, which was to be held on 29th & 30th August 2020. Secretary Kate Cowell said ensuring the health and safety of the Gawler Show community an...d the general public was paramount. It is distressing and disappointing to cancel our show as it supports so many in our community she said. We appreciate that the cancellation of the Gawler Show has a huge impact on our show community, particularly exhibitors and visitors who love attending the show as an annual tradition. There will be many people who will be very upset and disappointed with this decision, however, we hope our community understands why weve reached this decision. This will be the third time in the Gawler Shows 164 year history that the show has been cancelled. It was previously cancelled in 1919 due to the Spanish Flu epidemic and in 1942 during WW2. This is a time for leadership, innovation and thinking outside the square, which is exactly what we are doing. Although the gates wont be open this year, we will still be holding a Covid-19 friendly competition section. More details will be available soon. With so many people self-isolating we have seen an increase in peoples ingenuity and creativity across social media. Why not put those skills to good use for a bit of friendly competition. Its just another way of keeping our community connected. Due to overwhelming public feedback, the Society are looking at all avenues to host an event prior to the 2021 Gawler Show when the restrictions have been lifted. Again, public safety is our number one concern so this will be at the forefront of all decision making. We thank the people of Gawler and surrounding communities for their support of our Show and we look forward to bringing the community together once again to celebrate as planning now starts on the 2021 Show.

24.01.2022 EXPRESSION OF INTEREST: Were proud to announce we are in the planning stages of planning an Event to raise Funds for Heartkids. HeartKids work is outcome-focused, demonstrating real impact for CHD families and the community, comprising four pillars under our 'AIRS' model of care: Advocacy, Information, Research, Support.... Along with direct financial assistance, a large proportion of our support services are provided by our Community Support Coordinators who operate in every major children's hospital in Australia. They provide in-hospital and in-community support through our key Teen Transition/Youth Education, Peers as Mentors, Bereavement and Families programs as well as referrals to other key services for our heart kid families. Direct support is also given through our 1800 help line and our Facebook Support Group which has 2,600 parents of heart kids and heart adults. The Day will provide fun for the whole family and small and large businesses. 20.01.2022 We have just been advised that The Salisbury Christmas Pagent that we have been previously apart of has been cancelled. EVENT CANCELLATION 30th SALISBURY COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS PARADE... The Board met this morning and unanimously voted, that due to: * Current COVID-19 restrictions for large events, * Public Liability insurance issues, * Risks to public safety, * WHS obligations and * Unattainable event management plan requirements from SA Health that this years Parade will be cancelled. But, we have great pleasure in announcing the 30th Salisbury Community Christmas Parade (2021) will be bigger and better than ever and will be held on Saturday 4th December 2021. 09.01.2022 Previously we were apart of the @Salisbury food and caultral Festival last year and as to COVID 19 we have been advised the following CANCELLATION - 2020 Salisbury Food and Cultural Festival 24th October ... Following meetings of the Festival Operations Group, and a meeting today of the SBA Board, the following decision has been made. With our primary concerns being a) the health and wellbeing of all attendees, performers, stallholders, contractors, volunteers and staff and b) the requirement from Health SA to have a COVID Management Plan, and the unbudgeted costs associated with implementing this plan, the decision has been made to cancel this event. 04.01.2022 During these tough times we have lost alot of buisness Unfortunately this is out of our control. Alot of Events that the community and Buisness owners like ourselves rely on to drive our economy have had to be cancelled or postponed DUE TO COVID. This has affected alot of Buisnesses not just the hospitality industry but other industries as well. Small family owned buisnesses have had to close their doors and unfortunately probably will not reopen.... Buisnesses are struggling, people are losing their livelihoods jobs and end up on Centrelink which puts strain on the economy even further. We have noticed that the government have packages available to buisnesses affected by CORONA VIRUS but the terms and conditions of these relief buisnesses are in favour of bigger buisnesses. For example some have to earn $100k profit per year to be eligible to apply. So we ask in this difficult time don't look at another buisness as a competitor. Let's all make a pledge to try in one way or another to support each other during this time Either by sharing liking their page or perhaps shopping with these smaller buisness rather than the major outlets. With out the support alot of Small Business owners just like us will close. It could be your favourite Pizza bar Down the road or maybe Your local fish and chip shop, or perhaps your local Mechanics. No matter the buisness let's get behind each other and take the pledge to share like support in any way we can, together we can all come through this on the other side.
