25.01.2022 The Joy of cooking Indian Cuisine. Its so easy to make it Vegan and soooo delicious. Great to cater for Australia India Business at The University of Melbourne. It was certainly a logistic hike and I must of completed 3500 steps within 45minutes, but hey, life and catering can be a little crazy when you are born East of The Middle!! The energy in the room was wonderful....the cooking segment pretty damn East of the Middle and the feedback, an honour. Next event Thursday March 5th called HAPPINESS AND HOMMUS. Its impossible to be happy all the time, so this topic explores hot to create a Mindset around dealing with difficult times and having strength to rise above our adversities. 17.01.2022 This lovely human whose name I still dont know, because he struggles to talk due to what I do know of, as him suffering a brain tumor. The first time I met him he looked like he was on his last wicket, head down, almost unconscious with his motor scooter heading down Lygon Street. I left the Cafe and ran after him and called the Ambulance in fear that something bad will happen. He did not know that was me that day. But somehow ever since he hasnt missed a Saturday to visit m...e and asks my Staff to go and find me so he can see me. I give him his coffee and a bowl of chips, I tell him I love him and put my arms around him every week and for the last 3 weeks he has gifted me frames with love, necklaces, makeup boxes etc. He looked at me last week and simply said I LOVE YOU. i could not control my tears. It made me realise just how blessed I feel that Alishas Cafe Collective has allowed me to meet the most amazing humans ever and there are so many more amazing stories. we are East of The Middle and our community have embraced that.
