13.01.2022 Super downsizer contributions The Assistant Treasurer, Michael Sukkar, has announced that older Australians downsizing from their family homes have contributed $1 billion to their superannuation funds. Key recent data shows 4,246 individuals have utilised the downsizer scheme which commenced on 1 July 2018. The scheme allows older Australians choosing to sell their home and downsize to contribute up to $300,000 of the proceeds from the sale of their home into superannuation.... The once off scheme can be accessed by people who are 65 years old, who have lived in their family home for at least 10 years and who are selling it to downsize.
