22.01.2022 Sometimes wisdom teeth are not that wise. They tend to grow in different directions which can cause pain. Having an impacted Wisdom Tooth (where the tooth is tilted towards the 2nd molar) can be very dangerous. This can cause the 2nd molar to become infected/decay and cause a lot of discomfort. Instead of extracting just the wisdom tooth you can also potentially lose the 2nd molar too. Yikes Book an appointment with your Dentist Today and have your wisdom teeth checked out.

20.01.2022 Why do we use sealant? Did you know that your teeth have grooves on them that can be very tiny and hard to clean. It can harbor food and bacteria causing it to decay. Fissure Sealing your teeth can help prevent bacteria from seeping into those tiny grooves. For more information. Book an appointment Today and ask one of our friendly dentists.

19.01.2022 Happy Halloween everyone! Remember to floss and brush your teeth after chocolates and treats :)

13.01.2022 Did you know that you should change your toothbrush every 3 months? Studies have shown that when the bristles of toothbrushes are worn, they are less effective in removing plaque from your teeth and gums. It is also important to change your toothbrush after you have had a cold, flu, mouth infection or sore throat. The bacteria can reside in the bristles of your toothbrush, which can lead to reinfection.

12.01.2022 We all love a snack however have you considered the affects that your 3pm pick me up could be having on your oral health? Here are a few factors that we try to consider when reaching into the cupboard. 1. Avoid sticky, gummy foods- The sticker the food, generally the higher in sugar which is not ideal when stuck to your teeth all day. 2. Rethink what you drink- the acid and sugar in both energy drinks and fruit juices can cause a weakening in your tooth enamel. If you do choo...se to have either of these follow it up with a glass of water. 3. Believe it or not the frequency of your sugar intake is worse than the quantity of sugar consumed, so if you do feel the need for some sweets try to have it once a day and not spread it over a few hours. 4. Brushing after you eat is always ideal, however try to wait 30 minutes to do so. See more

08.01.2022 Brushing is important but did you know that flossing between teeth removes plaque that can lead to cavities or gum disease from the areas where a toothbrush can't reach. Remember to always floss after you eat or even just before bed. I guarantee your teeth and gums will be very happy and also your dentist.

07.01.2022 We are paying very close attention to the unfolding events surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuring that we are following with the government safety recommendations along with the Australian Dental Associations guidelines accordingly. To keep in line with these guidelines we are ceasing all non-essential treatment to minimise the volume of airborne aerosols within the practice. This includes - Examination and Cleaning procedures - Whitening and cosmetic procedures... - Non urgent fillings - Asymptomatic extractions These procedures will all be deferred until it is deemed safe to proceed. We are currently prioritising emergency pain relief and urgent treatment. If you currently have a non-urgent appointment booked with us one of our receptionists will contact you shortly. If you do require urgent dental treatment please call the practice as soon as possible so that we are able to triage you accordingly. We appreciate your support through this tough time and look forward to treating you all in the future.

07.01.2022 For those who have seen Dr Laura lately you might have noticed that her scrubs are a little tighter. As happy as we are to celebrate this great news with her, it means that unfortunately she will be heading onto maternity leave for a few months. Her final day will be 20.11.19, so if you are hoping to catch her before she pops we advise to book sooner rather than later as appointments are filling very quickly.
