18.01.2022 Today is our Adelaide Cup public holiday and it’s a gorgeous day. I hope everyone is enjoying themselves doing whatever makes you happy when you’re not at work . And what am I doing on this beautiful day? I’m putting some work into my business, which as I’m new to the wonderful world of celebrancy is something I’m more than happy to do. . And on that note I thought I might reveal a little about myself and how I come to find myself starting out as a Celebrant. I’ll tr...y and keep it short!!!! . Oddly enough, given its a day of work, that’s where I’m going to start. My background is predominantly the financial services and Insurance industries. I spent a large part of my time (16 years in fact!!) managing motor accident injury claims, which was work I gained a lot of both experience and satisfaction. As you could imagine sometimes the work was difficult, as you’re dealing with people who are sometimes in the midst of the most difficult time of their life. I came out of that employment with so much empathy for people who I don’t know. You never know what is happening in someone’s life just by looking at them. . It was for this reason I found the thought of becoming a Celebrant really inviting. What better way to be involved in one of the happiest times of a person’s life than as a Celebrant a complete opposite experience to my time as a CTP Claims Consultant . So the photo of Victoria Square is a link to my Monday to Friday life. 08.01.2022 I’m just working on a script and thinking back to my catch up Friday night with a wonderful group of people. The most awesome thing about these guys is that I went to school with them, and without giving my age away we’re talking about 30+ years ago !!!! My thoughts are going back to them while I’m doing this not just because they hold a special place in my heart (and we had a wonderful time ) but because two couples are in marriages that resulted from relationships that ...started way back then, and I just think that is pretty awesome Now I’m sure that if I asked them they’d be the first to say their journeys haven’t been all smooth sailing. But like any relationship it’s only worth the effort you put into it.
