01.01.2022 About two months ago, I finally went part time at work. I did this for one main reason. To be with my kids during this time of their lives that we can never get back. This was the BEST decision I have ever made for our family and this weekend has been my ultimate confirmation of this. With working full time as a travel consultant, and makeup work when I could, I couldn't even take my kids to swimming lessons or sports - we just couldn't schedule in the time due to work - let ...alone have a real relationship with my kids as a mum. I was having to rely on others to raise my kids and my kids didnt treat me like they should. I always fought for the respect and love that I always thought would be there regardless. Last night, my redhead asked for a hug, proceeded to ask me for a kiss. This kid hugged me so tight, and turned my cheek so he could kiss me like I do to my kids. Heaps of small little kisses all over their faces until they bursting with laughter or pleading with me to stop. He did this to ME. And repeated! I burst into tears. I used to fight with this kid almost on a daily basis to even say hello or goodbye to me, hug me or show respect. Today, he has made me finally feel that my choices are the right ones for my family by this one huge gesture, which to him isn't a gesture, it's normal for him! Now, my kids (over these two months) snuggle me more, listen more, and tonight, cant get close enough. Spend more quality time with your kids and reap the rewards.
