22.01.2022 We Need Another GP! If you are a GP or know one that is keen to make a change we would love to chat about joining our Parklands team. All three clinics in our A...live & Kicking Medical group have very high nurse to GP support levels. All clinics are equipped with the latest equipment and personnel training is up to date. Pathology and pharmacy adjoin the clinic. All our clinics use BP clinical software. We have 36,000 patients in our A&K group. The single greatest source of our new patients is referrals from friends and family, which is testimony to how highly patients regard our medical teams. We are professionals and skilled at dealing with the smallest issue to the most distressing cases, but also happy and ready to share a laugh where appropriate! When you work hard it is important to have time off to recharge, so we are very accommodating with holidays. Clinic hours of operation are designed for lifestyle, with no after-hours or weekend work. What's the point of living near all our gorgeous beaches if we never see them? Enjoy life surfing, swimming, kayaking, kite surfing, fishing, diving or ... just relaxing with family and friends Our top priority is talking to a VR GP about joining our team at Parklands Medical Centre within 30-60 days. If this sounds interesting please call/text managing director Kath Davis this week at 0413209486 or email [email protected]. * We are not DWS clinics but if you are nearing 18 months to the end of your moratorium we could rotate you through 6 month posts at all three clinics at which time you could settle at your favourite one!

14.01.2022 National Carers Week begins today running from Sunday 15th of October to the 21st, dedicated to acknowledging carers throughout Australia. There are over 2.7 million family and friend carers in Australia providing 36 million hours of care and support every week to a family member or friend who has a disability, mental illness, drug and/or alcohol dependency, chronic condition, terminal illness or who is frail. The replacement value of that unpaid care is $1.1 billion per week...! The theme and objective for National Carers Week is to highlight these incredible figures. By letting people know how many carers there are in Australia, the hours of care provided each week and the value of that care, Carers Count aims to raise awareness of the contribution made by carers. You can stay updated with National Carers Week by following @CarersNSW on Instagram and Facebook, or by following #carerscount on twitter. The best way to show carers how much they count to Australia is to say thanks and help build a carer-friendly Australia. You can easily say thanks too by writing on the carer pledge wall by clicking the following link!

10.01.2022 The National Bowel Cancer Screening Program (NBCSP) is inviting people aged 50-74 to screen for bowel cancer with a free, simple test at home. Australia has one of the highest rates of bowel cancer in the world with around one in 23 Australians developing bowel cancer during their lifetime. The NBCSP aims to reduce deaths from bowel cancer through the early detection of the disease, by taking advantage of this complimentary test. Government health authorities are asking for ...more people to take advantage of this service with still many people within Australia not returning the complimentary screening test for bowel cancer. Many lives can be saved through early detection by completing this screening test with the ability to detect the presence of bowel cancer before symptoms are even recognized by the individual. You are able to complete the Bowel Cancer screening test in the privacy of your own home, while remaining free and confidential. Complimentary tests are sent to the Australian population to people over 50. If you are not eligible for a free kit you can book in with your doctor to request a test kit. For more information visit the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program website or view this short informative Bowel Cancer screening clip provided by the Australian government.
