22.01.2022 Alive Pharmacy Cooktown Fire Update 2 The new store in the old TAB is coming together nicely with the staff working tirelessly under challenging conditions. The fire has caused significant damage to the electricals and hence electricity may not be on before New Years. A big thank you to Chad from Caped Crusaders Electrical who has come off holidays to a hell of a job. I’ll send an update tomorrow on progress. Thanks for all your support.

20.01.2022 BreastScreen Queensland Cairns Service will be visiting Cooktown from 30 Sept 17 Oct, with their mobile truck located across from the Cooktown Courthouse on Charlotte Street/Esplanade. The Service provides free mammograms particularly for women aged 50-74, but is also available for women in their 40s and those over 75. Appointments can be booked by phoning 13 20 50, or online (www.breastscreen.qld.gov.au).

14.01.2022 The Alive Pharmacy Warehouse Cooktown has suffered extensive fire damage today. We will not be operational for some time. I wanted to assure the Cooktown community that we’ll do whatever we can to maintain pharmacy services to the Cooktown community. I’ve been in contact with the Cooktown Hospital and will work with them to maintain supply. We’ll update you all as we have more details. Thank you to the emergency services that extinguish the fire and offered support. Thank you to all my staff that have been there to do what they can. Nick Loukas Owner

01.01.2022 Alive Pharmacy Cooktown Fire Update 1. Prescriptions on file have been saved 2. Community DAA’s (blister packs) will be repacked in Cairns and delivered Wednesday 3. Aim is to reopen on Thursday in the old TAB next to the Pharmacy with prescriptions and medicines. All stock will be new. 4. All your script data is safe and recovered... 5. The store will be completely stripped and rebuilt We will be starting early on Tuesday morning. A very warm thank you to the Cooktown community and my staff that have offered help and support.
