24.01.2022 We’ve had some really great results recently using exercise as a complimentary strategy before blocks of home schooling, particularly for autistic participants. . Many of the common barriers and symptoms that inhibit education/learning can be addressed and improved with some tailored exercise prior to starting education activities. . The cool thing is that this doesn’t just apply to this population, with the benefits translating across many conditions and types of disabiliti...es . 24.01.2022 Autism and Exercise . Along with the physical benefits, it’s important to also acknowledge and celebrate the benefits that exercise has on mental (psychosocial) health and also academic performance in the ASD population. . Depending on unique needs and goals, exercise can be adapted to best suit the individual, making it a sustainable, efficacious and enjoyable lifestyle/therapy option.... . The same applies for many other people living with disabilities - and to that also the broader population, particularly at a time like this! . Don’t underestimate what exercise can do you for you or the person(s) you support . . #allforonehealth #leavenobodybehind #autism #asd #autismspectrumdisorder #exercisetherapy #exerciseismytherapy #autismrocks #bodyandmind #academicsuccess #autismandexercise #moodstabilizer #mentalhealthsupport #disabilityinclusion #happyandhealthy #socialinclusion #disabilityrights #disabilitypride #autismacceptance #autismsupport #disabilitysupport #exercisephysiology #ndismelbourne #ndis #ndisprovider #ndisproviders #serviceprovider #exphys #lovewhatyoudo #movementculture See more
22.01.2022 With everything else going on in the world right now, events like autism awareness day which was on Thursday pass by without much fanfare. . With 1 in 34 males and 1 in 144 females diagnosed with autism, chances are you know or have interacted with someone with autism recently. . I’m currently working with several autistic participants, of differing ages and levels of function. Through these sessions, they consistently smash the misconceptions that people living with a disabi...lity face daily. . Their unique personalities, resilience and willingness to commit themselves to anything that gets thrown at them is something that should be celebrated and that we can all learn from! . At such a challenging time for all, it has been great to see the positive physical, mental, social and emotional benefits exercise has brought my participants . . . #worldautismawarenessday #autismawareness #autism #autismawarenessmonth #autismwarrior #exerciseautism #autismtreatment #autismacceptance #mentalhealthmatters #asd #autismspectrumdisorder #resilience #disabilityinclusion #smashingmisconceptions #autismwarrior #disabilityisdiversity #breakingbarriers #inclusionmatters #disabilitycommunity #perserverance #autismsupport #ndis #autismexercise #ndismelbourne #abilitynotdisability #disabilityservices #exerciseformentalhealth #exerciseforall #exercisephysiology #serviceprovider See more
22.01.2022 Did you know? . End of plan reporting, NDIS applications and reviews can be stressful. . Attaching a supporting report from a Health Professional greatly increases the chances of getting a positive result! ... . Engage with your #supportcoordinator and identify what you or the participant you support needs, and seek out a professional that you trust and have a great relationship with! They can analyse, assess and justify the benefits of the service(s), all whilst keeping it relevant to the participant. . FYI, these reports should NOT cost $700 (I have heard many stories....). . 21.01.2022 Participant spotlight. . Massive shout out to Alisha! Over the last 5 months Alisha has applied herself weekly and continues to make amazing progress! Exer...cise and general movement is part of her everyday routine, often covering 3+km’s a day. . For the first time in a long time Alisha has the strength to open bottles, and her new found balance and leg strength has opened up many more opportunities to explore! Something she loves to do. . Whilst at times it has been challenging in the climate we are faced with, we have approached each new challenge and over come it - with Alisha’s mum playing a hands on role during Telehealth sessions throughout! . Many lives and routines have been turned upside down this year, though having a focus and purpose has helped Alisha flourish. An absolute inspiration for all of us! . . #allforonehealth #leavenobodybehind #spotlight #achievement #ndis #successstory #inspiration #exploremore #abilitynotdisability #ndismelbourne #ndisprovider #ndissupport #ndisaustralia #balance #nextstop #tightrope #smashinggoals #teameffort #persistence #bigsmile #exerciseforall #movementismedicine #strengthgains #balancetraining #legstrength #lifestyle #communityfirst #teameffort See more
19.01.2022 Often when someone hears #exercisephysiology they think exercise or physical. Whilst this is partly true, it falls short of highlighting the other incredible value engaging in an Exercise Physiology intervention can bring. . A quality intervention should focus on equal parts psychosocial health as well as the bio or physical . . Some needs and goals can be identified during the initial consultation and then built upon and refined in sessions and throughout the interventio...n, while other invaluable benefits can happen below the surface, and can be used as learning experiences when they are experienced by the client/participants . . Through a strong therapeutic alliance and ability to show we care deeply for our client/participants, Exercise Physiology has practical application far beyond just exercise and rehabilitation realms. . #lifestyle #mentalhealth #learningeveryday #goalsetting #teamwork #collaborative #worklifebalance #empowerment #interactions #allforonehealth #leavenobodybehind #brainhealth #ndis #ndismelbourne #exerciseismedicine #lifestyleintervention #purpose #routine #inclusive #confidence #selfefficacy #socialinteraction #informationprocessing #learnsomethingnew #learningeveryday #disabilityawareness #businessowner #teamworking #feelgood #moodregulation See more
17.01.2022 With so much uncertainty and so many routines and supports being disrupted, I have experienced both first hand and read some really concerning things around mental health at this difficult time. . Not only are everyday working Australians grappling with the many challenges that this virus have brought, so too are people living with disabilities - and their broader support networks. . Many of whom through the circumstances have lost their supports, be it support workers or oth...er service providers. The feedback is that this has led to people feeling isolated and at times hopeless with the enormity of what they are now faced with. Which is not dissimilar to the vast majority of Aussies at present. . Unfortunately the reality is that this virus has brought with it uncontrollable mental, physical, financial, and social hardships. What we can control is our ability to reach out. Send an email, a text message, comment on a post, like a status, pick up the phone, whatever your way of showing some love and support is - do it more often. Personally and professionally it will make the world of difference! . #itsokaytonotbeokay #covid19 #mentalhealth #ndis #ndismelbourne #disabilityawareness #disabilityadvocate #powerofcommunity #covid_19 #virus #corona #coronavirus #flattenthecurve #supportcoordinator #serviceprovider #planmanagement #supportworker #communitysupport #supporteachother #familyandfriends #colleagues #professionalrelationships #personalrelationships #solidarity #physicalhealth #immunehealth #financialsupport #togetherness #love #unity See more

15.01.2022 15 playground exercises! After a few messages and comments I decided throw together a basic exercise bank of equipment free exercises which you can complete at most parks. A lot of these exercises can be performed at home also! . Across the 15 exercises I’ve added an easier variation and progression where possible (excuse the facial expressions ).... Pick 4-5 exercises based on what body parts you want to train and complete 3x10 of each. Don’t worry about technique or form, simply getting moving at a time like this is far more important! Wipes or sanitizer is also a great idea to use throughout the workout just to be safe. Any questions feel free to comment or send me a message. Hope everyone stays well

13.01.2022 Brando completing some kettlebell squats as part of his circuit with an interval timer for visual stimulus . (Captured just before he struck a dinosaur pose between sets ) . Green screen= , Red screen= . Stimulus and feedback comes in many forms, and finding effective method(s) is unique to each individual and requires some trial and error. This could involve visual input, verbal communication, auditory, tactile (hands on).... . 13.01.2022 As a community of service providers, participants and broader support network we are all in this extraordinary circumstance together. . As well as taking all the precautionary measures possible, it is also vital to ensure you remain healthy! This includes continuing to remain physically active. Even if it is in the home! . Exercise is amazing for your immune system, and also plays a huge part in improving and managing your mental health. This is something that may be very val...uable to a lot of people who are spending increasing amounts of time at home. . As an Exercise Physiologist who provides mobile services across Melbourne it is amazing to see the priority that participants have put on their health! . 11.01.2022 I refuse to accept what I’ve heard so many times, barriers and limitations placed on people because of their circumstances, diagnoses, age, socioeconomic status! We need to start looking at what people living with a disability can do, and not what they can’t. . The core value of why I started this service is to bridge the gap between participants and the right to access some regular physical activity. . Exercise doesn’t have to be in a gym, it can be in the park, in the livi...ng room, a backyard, hall or even a bedroom! . 10.01.2022 After working with NDIS participants in the leisure setting for two years I heard countless stories from clients where their friends or family in the NDIS couldn’t access any exercise. So I decided to do something about it! Enter @allforonehealth ! . Having seen the benefits that exercise brought my NDIS clients physically, mentally and socially I am of the strong belief that everyone, regardless of their circumstances should have the opportunity to engage in some exercise ... I offer Mobile Exercise Physiology Services for participants and private clients who are suited to exercise in a setting that is accessible and appropriate. . This includes; . - Tailored exercise/rehab sessions for participants based on their goals and preferences. It is very much individualised to the participant . - Report writing services. I’ve had experience contributing to successful NDIS applications and also reapplications which were previously unsuccessful, as well as general progress reports . - Conducting outcome measure testing for subjective and objective contribution to reports. This includes gathering baseline data which can then be accurately reassessed . I have all the necessary equipment for the sessions to cater for the unique needs and goals of the participant, and have the capacity to travel across Melbourne. . Feel free to send me a message for more information. . #ndis #ndisprovider #ilovendis #ndissupport #exerciseisforeveryone #exercisephysiology #planmanaged #selfmanaged #nationaldisabilityinsurancescheme #abilitynotdisability
08.01.2022 A minute to reflect (finally)... . The past fortnight has been the most unpredictable and dynamic 14 days I’ve ever experienced (I would imagine most people are in the same boat!) . Unlike so many, due to the nature of my service (mobile Exercise Physiology), I’ve been fortunate enough to continue to work with my participants. This has seen us exercising/rehabbing and engaging with each other in backyards, front yards, parks and gardens - maintaining the 2 metres apart etc.... . At a time where there is so much apprehension and unknown, the two things I’ve taken away most is the enjoyment I’ve had immersing myself into sessions with participants - seeing how it has provided them with an outlet , and the interactions and two way support I’ve experienced within this community (participants, service providers, broader family and friends). . Each service is so unique and valuable, it is my deep hope that every one (and their businesses) make it through this, as I honestly believe that so much good is coming from the work being done in the NDIS community. This stretches beyond just the physical, mental, social, emotional benefits that participants derive - but also the positive impact it has on us as providers! . Have a great weekend all. . . #covid_19 #coronavirus #coronamelbourne #covidaustralia #covid19australia #ndis #ndisprovider #ndismelbourne #ndissupport #ndisaustralia #ndisproviders #ndisprovidermelbourne #reflection #weekend #mobileservice #exercisephysiology #melbourneaustralia #disabilityawareness #disabilityinclusion #abilitynotdisability #autismawareness #schizophrenia #mentalhealth #depressionhelp #anxietyrelief #exerciseismedicine #rehabilitation #disabilityexercise #goldenretriever #workbuddy See more

06.01.2022 All For One Health at a glance . A guiding value at the core of why I started All For One Health was leave nobody behind, because I believe regardless of your circumstances or condition everyone should have the opportunity to improve their health and quality of life. . I think the diverse nature of the community reenforces the idea that exercise and lifestyle interventions are not just for ‘healthy’ people - tearing down outdated stereotypes in the process! ... . For so many of these participants, healthcare has only ever been clinical, often making them feel like patients or like something is very wrong with them, leading to isolation and a sense hopelessness. . I wanted to change this, and build progress off of teamwork, collaboration, hope, inclusiveness and positivity. I’d like to think we’ve taken some small steps towards this bigger picture so far. . Super excited for what lays ahead with the current and future community . . #allforonehealth #leavenobodybehind #exercisephysiology #mobileservice #thecommunity #ourwhy #businessvalues #healthcare #stroke #schizoaffective #bipolar #diabetes #chronicpain #autism #anxiety #depression #mentalhealthawareness #collaboration #teamwork #positivemindset #disabilityawareness #abilitynotdisability #ndis #ndismelbourne #ndisserviceprovider #communityovercompetition #lifestylemodification #exerciseismedicine #exerciseathome #nogymnoproblem See more
05.01.2022 Now more than ever do I resonate with the core value behind why I chose the business name All For One Health - which is 'Leave Nobody Behind'. At a time where we as Victorians are facing 6 more weeks of adjusted living circumstances, I look towards what this means for the community I work with across Melbourne and the broader NDIS community. For many this means an even greater divide in their connection with the outside world, leading to greater social isolation and reduced a...bility to access health care services. These health care services are not only vital for maintaining and improving individuals physical health, but also plays a pivotal role in helping to manage their psychosocial health. Which at a time like this is at risk of regressing. I have always carried the strongest belief that EVERYONE, regardless of their circumstances (and now the broader events occurring), should have the opportunity and right to engage in routine exercise and associated lifestyle interventions to benefit their overall health. Current circumstances pose both personal and professional challenges for all, including those living with disabilities. It's more important than ever to reflect on my why and the core fundamentals that underpin All For One Health.
04.01.2022 Craig getting it done yesterday on a sunny Wednesday morning. There’s a joke running between us that there must be someone or something that wants him to exercise because it’s a perfect morning every time we have a session! Yesterday he comfortably squatted with 8kg In the current climate especially, it’s important to celebrate the wins (both big and small) and find gratitu...de in what you are doing.
