24.01.2022 Good afternoon The City of Gold Coasts Road Safety Plan 2015 2020 includes a key action in relation to motorcycles to partner with motorcycling advocacy groups to communicate road safety issues and promote external commercial rider training programs on the Gold Coast. I would like to ask that you promote to riders and social riding groups, through your communication channels, a motorcycle rider safety event being held this Sunday 20 March. Last year, 47% of all fatal traff...ic crashes across the South Eastern Policing Region involved motorcycles, more than double the state average. The majority of the Regions 15 fatal motorcycle crashes (80%) took place in the Gold Coast Hinterland and rural areas of Logan District. As a result police from both the Logan and Gold Coast Districts, in conjunction with Queensland Fire and Rescue Service, Queensland Ambulance Service, Department of Transport and Main Roads, together with the Gold Coast, Logan and Scenic Rim City Councils have joined forces to target the issue of rider safety in the hinterland area under the banner of Operation North Upright. Details of the event are: On Sunday March 20 between 7:00 am and 1:00 pm the Queensland Police Service and partners will encourage motorcyclists to stop for a free sausage sizzle and have a chat about road safety including hazard perception, braking distances and scanning techniques. The locations for the event are: Syd Duncan Park, on Outlook Ave, Lower Beechmont Tamborine School Park, on Waterford Tamborine Road, Tamborine For further details about the event please visit: http://mypolice.qld.gov.au//operation-north-upright-motor/ For further information about road safety, including motorcycle safety, please visit the City of Gold Coast website. Please let me know if you are able to promote the above event or if you run any motorcycle road safety events. If you have any further questions, please contact me. Thanks in advance. 04.01.2022 Madden ready to fly the Raceline Pirelli Suzuki flag at Coolum FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE... 28 May 2015: Melbourne, Victoria Raceline Pirelli Suzuki s Jesse Madden will head to Coolum for round five of the MX Nationals this weekend, looking to close the gap on the Pirelli MXD championship. After a successful outing at Murray Bridge where Madden collected valuable championship points, the Suzuki mounted rider will head to Coolum hoping to put in another solid charge before commencing the mid-season break. The Gold Coast based rider shared his thoughts on heading to the Sunshine Coast and says with experience at Coolum under his belt, that hes expecting big things this weekend. On Wednesday we did a lot of testing with Chris Woods from Raceline Performance and got all of the suspension dialed in for the sand this weekend which was awesome, he said. I have rode at Coolum heaps of times Im not too far from the track, so I am heading into this weekend with a fair bit of knowledge of the track. I just want to stay in that top three and hopefully gain some championship points. It would be good to get another podium before the break, or even take the championship lead I think this weekend is going to be awesome. Raceline Pirelli Suzuki Team Manager Jesse Wallace also shared his excitement in heading to Coolum, and says that further testing has certainly paid off. We are looking forward to this weekend. Jesse is looking very good on the bike after doing some more testing with Raceline Performance, and the bike is set up for the sand this weekend, he said. We made some good progress with the bike this week, and every time Jesse gets on the Suzuki hes getting better and feeling at home now We have a solid set up which certainly give us extra confidence. Jesse knows Coolum very well he knows all of the lines and the way the track forms up so were expecting good things this weekend. The Raceline Pirelli Suzuki Team will now head to Coolum on May 31 for round 5 of the MX Nationals. For spectator information, head to www.mxnationals.com.au To stay updated with all team progress, like Raceline on Facebook, follow their Instagram via Raceline_motosport or on Twiter via Raceline_ - ends - Media Enquiries: Misty Walton: 0448 725 229 [email protected] www.eskimomediagroup.com.au Stop receiving these emails: Unsubscribe
