25.01.2022 Thanks to everyone for the support in 2019! This Friday (20th) is our final day for scheduled work for the year - back on deck January 6th. We're available for emergencies only over the holidays.

24.01.2022 We've said before that loose switches are dangerous. Today we went to a job where a switch had caught fire in the middle of the night! The offending one hadn't even been visibly faulty. This family is so lucky to have been woken by the smoke. If you have ANY concerns about your switches or power points please call All Set Electrical.

24.01.2022 Got a second? Do yourself a favour... press this (safety switches), push this (smoke alarms) and check these (flexi-pipes)! It could save your life, a disaster, or at least an insurance claim! Call All Set Electrical if anything goes wrong... except the flexi-pipes. You'll need a plumber for that.

23.01.2022 Do your smoke alarms look like this? Chances are they're out of date! Smoke alarms only have a service life of 10 years, then they must be replaced. Manufactured date should be stamped on them if you're unsure. You may also be aware that new rules have been rolled in requiring, among other things, one in every bedroom. Unless you're selling, leasing or renovating you have until 2027 to comply. Get safe and compliant - Call All Set Electrical!

22.01.2022 With all that's going on... Did you remember to test your smoke alarms on April 1st? While you're at it, we highly recommend testing your RCDs (safety switches), and checking your flexi-hoses for corrosion/swelling. These simple checks will keep you, your family, and your property safe.

13.01.2022 We'd prefer it just didn't happen, to be chewful (*sorry). But whether it's act of dog, rat or even cockatoo (yes - it happens); you can count on All Set Electrical to get you fixed up.

13.01.2022 Do you have any power points around the house that feel "springy"? The plugs are hard to push in, or seem to push back out? This is caused by the backing plate cracking (as pictured). Eventually, the whole plate can snap off, leaving you with a broken, live mess in your wall. Don't wait for things to fall apart - call All Set Electrical.

13.01.2022 Can you spot the hidden danger in this switchboard? The tangled cables? The asbestos board? - No, the biggest immediate threat is the connector on the live cable. Someone has hooked it on the bolt coming through the board. That bolt is now live with no protection except the street fuse. We deal with too many messes from idiots attempting electrical work. Don't risk it (and us) - always use a licenced electrical contractor! Call All Set Electrical.

12.01.2022 Thinking about new or replacement fans? Why not consider plastic? ABS moulded blades are lighter, corrosion-free, and perfectly balanced. This means less motor strain, less chance of wobble, and more air movement. They're available in different designs & colours, and can now even include colour changing, dimmable LEDs! ... At least All Set Electrical is an easy choice!

11.01.2022 Not-so fun fact: Every replacement, new or relocated hot water system now needs an isolator installed beside it, and the circuit must then be protected by safety switch. ...You don't need to know these things - because we do. Just call All Set Electrical.

07.01.2022 It's absolutely unbelievable the things we find day to day. This old switchboard had live cables hanging out - from who knows when. No safety switch. Fortunately no one was hurt (we've now made it safe). Don't get complacent. Don't assume it's safe. Call All Set.

07.01.2022 Ok, it's weatherproof... but is it weatherproof? All external electrical items carry an "IP rating". Some (like most power points) are not rated to be installed out in the open, or in pool areas. If you're unsure of what you have or are looking at - call All Set.

05.01.2022 We've helped get many homes compliant already... but it helps to know when they must be done by! The new(ish) rules require smoke alarms in every bedroom, hallways leading to bedrooms and on every storey. They must also be photoelectric type and interconnected. There are options for every home - talk to All Set.

04.01.2022 Room with a view! So many spend good money on some of the free job perks we enjoy daily... fitness club, endurance training, sauna, escape room... and that's just in the roof!

03.01.2022 The solar boom has been around for some time now, and we're seeing problems spring up very frequently. Dead inverters, earth faults, melted cables and connectors - even this rare hail-smashed panel! Keep an eye on your inverter to make sure it's producing correctly with no fault lights.
