12.01.2022 Thankyou for the well wishes last night, feel much better this morning. A timely reminder to all those sun seeking site workers that like to expose some skin to get that cool tanned look. It is not cool. Unfortunately it is like playing Russian roulette with your body. It just takes one Younger years as a boilermaker in a factory with no PPE rules and reg’s (short sleeve shirts, no gloves and helmet off and held in the hand) and sun, surf and no common sense, is catching up as I get older with monthly doctor appointments to surgically remove skin cancers. The body starts to resemble a patchwork quilt. I can tell you it ain’t cool. In the hot summer days quickly approaching, plan your work day, do the outside in the sun work in the cooler part of the day where possible and remember to wear all correct PPE, and Slip, Slop and Slap.

Do they have a safe system of work in the event there is an accident on your work site or do they have the relevant paperwork in the event that a Person from WorkSafe Australia (the old Workcover) happens to drive past your site and decides to call in and check for compliance. Under the WHS Act and Regulation this paperwork is mandatory carrying big fines for non compliance. My business helps trades people become compliant with little pain. 03.01.2022 If you see someone doing something unsafe stop them before they get hurt. This could be a new guy that everyone thinks that he knows how to do the job. Remember induction, training and using = competency. Don’t just assume

02.01.2022 As part of your Work Health and Safety documentation compliance in the event it all goes sour, Work Safe Australia will ask where is your Dial before you dig or 1100 documentation. Any excavations within the road or road reserve requires the contractor or machine operator to locate all utilities assets by pot holing prior to disturbing soil. Dial before you dig supplies utility plans free. A phone call or a computer request is a far cheaper option than non compliance and damaging optic fibre, high pressure gas or electricity. Are you compliant?

02.01.2022 It’s ok to cry
