24.01.2022 I finally got around to installing an automatic door on our own coop. All I can say is this is a complete game changer and wish I had of done it 10 years ago! Comes complete with a solar panel to recharge the battery, though it will operate for 2 weeks even without any solar input and can be programmed to open and close whenever suits you. No more having to worry about who is going to be home to lock the chooks away from foxes. 23.01.2022 We had a customer ask us about the welfare of these three chickens who were kept in dismal conditions. The owner was elderly and they lived in a tin shed with concrete floor with very little light and never going outside. We said we would gladly take them on and they could come and live on our property free ranging with the rest of our flock. Poor girls had lice and stick fast fleas and huge clumps of poo stuck to their undersides. They had a lovely spa day to clean them up, treated for all their ailments and are now out free ranging loving life out in the open.

19.01.2022 Chooktred tredle feeders now in stock. There are lots of versions of these about but the majority of them are dodgy and downright dangerous to our feathered friends. This quality Australian made model has no side access so chooks can’t get their heads caught if trying to eat from the side, are adjustable for small light chickens and make your feed both water and rodent proof. We personally have been using one of these for the last 8 years and the chickens soon learn how to ...use it. Full instructions included for initial training. New chickens to the flock soon pick it up off the others. $210 each. Holds 14kg, roughly enough for 10 chooks for 10 days.

08.01.2022 With all the broody chooks and new mums at the moment our day runs are a great addition. Free standing runs allow chicks time out without fear of being taken by predators. Our mesh is both snake and rodent proof. We also have smaller runs which attach to our single level brooder boxes.
