25.01.2022 COVID-19 and Student Visa Holders The COVID-19 pandemic has meant many changes for International Students. The way courses are normally delivered has changed and so have some of the conditions with the student visas. The government has taken a flexible approach in regards to attendance at class and the work limitations. Many students work in critical sectors and the government has acknowledged the increase in work demand for some of these students. The 40 hour work limitatio...n per fortnight has been relaxed temporarily so the students working in supermarkets or the aged care sector can provide much needed assistance to their employers. This will continue until 1 May 2020 and will then return to the 40 hour fortnight work limit. Students who are enrolled in a nursing course can work in the health industry, where appropriate during the pandemic response. Your employers should have received information from the Government about these changes and apply only to those working in these roles prior to the COVID-19 pandemic response. If you are an international student who is unable to support yourself during the COVID-19 pandemic, you should make arrangements to return home where possible. If you are unsure on what this means for you or what your next step should be, we are able to help. Please get in touch either by going to www.aboutimmi.com.au and filling in our survey or email us at [email protected]

23.01.2022 We received a grant for one of our AAI families last week. This family was originally from the UK and came to Australia on a temporary subclass 457 visa. The main applicant, his wife and their son and daughter are all now permanent residents of Australia. The main applicant had been working for his employer for 2 years. His skills and experience were invaluable to the company so his employer decided to sponsor him to apply for his permanent residency visa. The whole family love their life in Australia and see their future here. Now they are permanent residents, they plan on purchasing their own home. We are so happy to have helped this lovely family achieve their Australian dream! When we rang them with the good news we put them on speaker so our office could share the joy with them.
21.01.2022 Every Business has a Why! Why do I wake up each day, excited about my business ... because I could not imagine what life would be like without multiculturalism. I adore meeting and helping people from many different cultural backgrounds. Our clients continually teach us about their cultural traditions, beliefs and behaviours. They all have an inspiring and brilliant story to share. They are always generous about sharing their stories. This is what I love. I have learnt so much from our clients, and I am a true believer that if you stop learning, you will never have a fulfilled and enriched life! My other why .... is because I love people, and I love Australia. So I do feel blessed to have a business which, in my heart and my mind, is worth waking up for!
20.01.2022 Dennis is my Grandson, he is 14 years old and just released his first single! Please like, share and follow him and don’t forget to have a listen to his debut single New York Taxi!
19.01.2022 I had the absolute pleasure of spending time with this amazing family! It is so lovely to be appreciated for the work you do! Kuir has recently arrived as a permanent resident. Her Aunt claimed her because she is her orphaned niece she lost her parents through war. The last four years we have worked together with her aunt and her children to bring Kuir to Australia to be reunited with family again ... it was like magic tonight to finally meet Kuir .... a moment I had thought about for many years that really came true tonight - to finally meet this wonderful person in real life! Thank you to David for arranging this evening and the beautiful gift I am holding has been hand stitched from Africa!
19.01.2022 It is hard to believe that these two performers are only 12 and 13 years old. Dennis Comino is my grandson! He has a dream to be the best performer he can be and he strives hard every day to realize this dream! We are so proud of his focus and commitment.
18.01.2022 A MEETING BY CHANCE ...Second generation Tibetan refugee Pokhara Nepal I was hanging around Fewa Lake Pokhara yesterday when a lovely soft spoken lady asked my husband if she could talk to me. She seemed somewhat nervous but passionate and intelligent. She had a soft kind voice and she had a small backpack in her hand. She was wanting to show me what the people of her Tibetan Village, females, had made and these delights were in her backpack! Typically at first I was just wa...nting to relax and enjoy the lake and take photos! She said, please Ma’am just take a look .. I have travelled 1.5 hrs to come to the lake and try my luck at selling some of our village ladies crafts. I said OK. She was so beautiful and has an incredible life of pure strength and an amazing determination and love for life her culture and her family! She had no support as a refugee from Nepal or Tibet. The bracelets earrings beads and stones from her village area were beautiful. She shared her culture with us and her story of her Mum and how they arrived in Nepal as refugees! She was grateful to Nepal for being able to live in her Tibetan Village in Nepal and she was raising her two daughters! It was a true delight to meet her and I proudly wear one of her bracelets on my right wrist each day thinking about the determination and strength I gained from meeting her ... she was a true delight and an inspiration not only to womanhood but to life itself! This is just one story of many I have endured especially from women in Nepal. I will share another in a few days! #visitnepal2020#nepalese# nepaleseyouthtasmania#nepalesecommunityBrisbane#lovenepal See more
18.01.2022 AMAZING NEPAL We have now been in Nepal for 8 days! What a wonderful place it is. We have really fallen in love with this country. The food is so fresh and organic and the people are so kind and friendly. The natural beauty of the land is breathtaking and the mountains we have climbed and the mountains we continue to see with their snow caps as we awake each day are well worth greeting each day with. The lovely dogs of Nepal that walk along the trek with you or follow you in... the street or just fall asleep in the middle of the way as everyone passes Im sure have a magical take to tell. In the mountain villages we saw goats running freely... chickens living freely and roosters crowing ... buffalo passing by ... not disturbed by humans and the life of humans and animals just seem to be equally balanced which is wonderful to see! We have climbed to 3200 meters challenging ourselves as we placed our feet carefully on thousands of stone steps as we went up, down and across the highest mountains I have ever seen! We have walked in snow forests... rain forests passing waterfalls ... some frozen ... and crossed all types of bridges including suspension bridges ... my fear of heights has lessened I cant wait to see what the next couple of weeks brings as we continue to embrace everything Nepal has for us! #nepal#travel#lovenepal#happiness#nature#visitnepal2020

15.01.2022 Over the next few weeks, we will be answering some of our frequently asked questions. If you have any questions you would like us to answer, please feel free to add them to the comments. This week, we will answer some questions about permanent residency. We will start with explaining the different between a Permanent Resident and a Citizen.
15.01.2022 On Sunday, many of you would have celebrated Mothers Day. I received messages from many of our clients wishing me a happy Mothers Day - from within Australia and across the globe. It was really touching to be thought of. All my children came to our home on Sunday for afternoon tea and were able to enjoy a gift I was given from some of our lovely clients. We helped a family from Latvia initially on a temporary work visa, and then into a permanent visa. The company they worke...d for really loved them, and the family love Australia. They are now on their way to becoming Australian Citizens. The company and the applicant family were so happy with our work that they took us out to a beautiful restaurant in Brisbane City overlooking the river. It was a wonderful evening. They arrived with the biggest bunch of flowers I have ever seen and brought me gifts. One of the gifts was a beautiful white linen tablecloth. It was made in Latvia! It is just amazing - the quality of the tablecloth is just beautiful. Well I have been looking for a special occasion to christen this tablecloth. Mother's day just seemed to be perfect for it. We all sat around that tablecloth, eating home cooked muffins and pancakes, fruit, and other goodies while we chatted and created more life memories. I told my family about that tablecloth. Everyone loved it. That table looked so pretty with elegant cake stands; pretty plates; and special dishes. We were too busy enjoying each others company that no-one took a photo of the beautiful tablecloth in use. I was spoilt by my family and feel so blessed to have such a wonderful family. I would love to hear how you spent your Mothers Day - send us an email on [email protected]
15.01.2022 We recently received a grant for 2 wonderful clients originally from the Ukraine. They are now permanent residents of Australia! I met this beautiful couple in Christchurch when I was travelling New Zealand. They met me at the airport at midnight when my plane landed. They told me that they had heard about us, through their Australian Ukraine friends who have worked with us for their immigration matters. They told me that they wanted to work in Australia, on a dairy farm. The...y had been working on a dairy farm in New Zealand and wanted to continue in this industry in Australia. They applied for a job in regional Victoria and the farm owner loved them and wanted them to work for him. They were initially on a subclass 407 training visa while they enhance their skills in the industry in Australia. We then applied for a direct entry permanent regional visa which was granted recently! They were so excited, because they are expecting their first child. As their baby will be born in Australia and at least one parent is a permanent resident; this child will be an Australian Citizen. Their baby will beat them to Australian Citizenship! After they have lived in Australia for 4 years, they will be able to apply for Australian citizenship if they wish. As I was writing this story, a beautiful bunch of long stemmed red roses 24 of them arrived from a lovely couple!
15.01.2022 Our team would like to wish our clients, their family, and friends a Merry Christmas; and a wonderful festive season. Our office is now closed and we look forward to seeing you again from 4 January 2021. If you have any urgent matters please contact us on [email protected] as I will be checking emails.
14.01.2022 COVID-19 and Expiring Visa Holders If you are on a temporary visa and are unable to support yourself for the next six months or your visa is due to or has expired, you are encouraged to return to your home country as soon as possible. The COVID-19 pandemic is not a valid excuse to be here unlawfully. ... If you cannot leave Australia due to border restrictions, you should find another valid visa pathway. A bridging visa will keep you lawfully in Australia until you need to depart or are granted a new visa. The decisions you make now may impact on your ability to gain a visa at a later date, so it is best to speak to an expert. We are here to help and are experts in finding the visa pathway that is right for you, whether it be a bridging visa, or a more long term visa. Please get in touch either by going to www.aboutimmi.com.au and filling in our survey or email us at [email protected]

12.01.2022 COVID-19 and Working Holiday Makers Depending on what industry you are working in, the advice will be different. For advice tailored to your situation, please get in touch either by going to www.aboutimmi.com.au and filling in our survey or email us at [email protected] People who are working in critical areas such as health care, aged and disability care, agriculture, food processing and childcare are exempt from the six month work limitation with one employer during t...he COVID-19 pandemic. The government has provided flexible arrangements for the ongoing employment in these sectors. This includes some working holiday makers in the critical services being eligible for a further visa to continue working in these sectors, even if your visa is due to expire in the next 6 months. There is also another temporary visa that you can apply for if you are not eligible for the extension. If you are not working in one of the critical areas mentioned above, but also cannot return to your home country due to border restrictions, you may be able to apply for a further working holiday maker visa. There is a specific visa for people working in regional Australia in industries such as mining, construction, fishing, farming and bush fire recovery. We can let you know what Visa you are eligible for if you get in touch. There are a few requirements that you will need to be aware of when applying to extend your Working Holiday Maker visa and every situation is different, so please contact us at [email protected] if you need further information.
12.01.2022 Introducing our youngest Australian Citizen The real names of this family have not been identified for privacy reasons. We are using the names of Tom and Sarah and Annie for their daughter. Tom and Sarah fell in love, from two different sides of the world. They soon became Husband and Wife. Tom saved all his annual leave to visit Sarah in Africa, and returned with mixed feeling of happiness to have seen her, and sad feelings as they missed each other very much. Their love... is pure and strong, always staying true and loyal to each other. Surviving on WhatsApp, videos, text messages and phone conversations technology is wonderful. Even though the time differences were so great between the two countries, they said their good morning and good nights every single day. After multiple visits, they found out some big news. Just before Tom was leaving to come back to Australia he found out he was going to be a father. The soon to be father had to return, and persisted to support Sarah whilst being in a long-distance relationship. When Sarah went into labour she rang Tom. Tom says he will never forget that phone call and the excitement they both felt. A few hours later their first beautiful daughter arrived. Tom said she is perfect! Their little girl was given the traditional name of her grandparent. Sarah was so happy she could not wait to ring Tom and send him a video of their newborn. Tom was an Australian citizen when Annie was born, even though she was born in Africa, we helped them with the process of Australian citizenship. Annie is the youngest child we have had they joy of processing to citizenship. Annie will arrive in Australia as a holder of an Australian passport. Tom and Sarah have applied for their partner visa and we have asked for permanent resident priority given the length of their relationship and the birth of their Australian child. We will keep you posted on the outcome! It is people like Tom, Sarah and Annie that gives us the energy and the love for the work that we do! All About Immigration would love to have you apart of the family. Visit www.aboutimmi.com.au and fill in the contact us and FREE assessment form. Cant wait to hear from you!

This is a new initiative has recently been confirmed by the Department of Home Affairs.
10.01.2022 Today I had the pleasure of catching up with 2 of our lovely clients and their beautiful baby girl. Fozia is an Australian citizen who longed for her husband to be able to join her in Australia. We worked together with them as they applied for a subclass 309 partner visa. We got to hear their amazing love story and were so happy to be able to be a part of reuniting this devoted couple. The application was lodged in May 2018 and we were able to give them the good news that th...ey had been successful with the grant, before the end of the year. Abdi and Fozia were reunited in April 2019 and began their new life together in Australia. Part of that new life was having their beautiful baby girl. She was born an Australian Citizen. In May of this year Abdi will apply for permanent residency in Australia and cant wait to hold his Australian Citizenship as his family does. To become a citizen, he will have to have lived in Australia for 4 years with the last year being a permanent resident. We have loved being part of this familys journey and seeing the joy and difference it has made in their lives. Seeing them happy together in Australia makes our team feel so happy to have been able to be a part of it!
09.01.2022 This adorable little girl misses her grandparents! Her grandparents miss her as well. We have the joy of helping this family apply for the Sponsored Parent Visa. This family are hard-working, raising two adorable children, and both run their own businesses. I do wonder when these parents have the time to sleep. Grandparents play such an important role within family structures in most homes across the globe, and it is exactly what this family need! This visa allows grandpare...nts to live in Australia for either 3 or 5 years. They cannot work, but they will not be required to leave every 3 months like many visitor visas. They will have multiple entry rights. The application process consists of two stages sponsorship first, then applicants (parents). We applied for the sponsorship and it was granted within 9 days! Congratulations to the parents the sponsorship approval lasts for 5 years from date of approval. We are now moving on to the application process. If you are interested in learning more about this visa, or think it might be ideal for your family, go to www.aboutimmi.com.au and fill in our survey or email us at [email protected] - love to hear from you.
08.01.2022 Continuing on with answering some frequently asked immigration questions, today we look at how to apply for permanent residency in Australia. Please get in touch if we can help or you have any other questions you would like answered.
08.01.2022 Today's question on Permanent Residency is specific to our Anzac brothers and sisters. If you know a Kiwi looking at becoming a permanent resident, please share or get them to get in touch with us.
08.01.2022 Did you know that new born children need Visas? Today I would like to share a story with you just in case you ever find yourself in the same situation. We have a lovely couple, which we brought to Australia, and they are living and working in a regional area of Queensland. They have settled very well and their employer is very happy with the work they are doing. The employer and his family have helped this couple settle in their regional town. They have always been supporti...ve. The couple love their life here in Australia. They have just had their first child. Because this couple are temporary residents of Australia, their baby must have a visa to be legally staying in Australia. If she stays in Australia until she is 10 years old she may be eligible to become an Australian Citizen, or if her parents become permanent residents of Australia, she can be included in the visa. Once a permanent resident and when they meet the resident requirements this family will be able to apply for Australian Citizenship. If you are in this situation, it is important to advise Australian Immigration as soon as possible so your child can gain a visa to be legally living in Australia. Just recently we received a phone call from a desperate parent, who had purchased tickets to fly to Bali. She was on a subclass 457 temporary visa and they had a child in Australia. They were not able to take the baby on the plane with them as the baby did not have a visa to legally enter Australia. If you would like to talk to anyone further about this situation, please contact us by filling in our survey at www.aboutimmi.com.au or email us at [email protected] - we would love to hear from you!

07.01.2022 COVID-19 and Employer Sponsored Temporary Work Visas There are many different scenarios that you could be in if you hold this type of Visa. We can provide generic information here, but for advice tailored to your specific situations, please get in touch with us, either by going to www.aboutimmi.com.au and filling in our survey or email us at [email protected] If you have been stood down or had your hours reduced, your visa should remain valid. If this is not possible due to border restrictions, we suggest you get in touch with us as soon as possible, as you will need to maintain a valid visa. 06.01.2022 TOGETHER IN SPIRIT BUT 15,000 KMS APART! The world that we are living in at the moment is much different to what it was just a few months ago. We have had to adjust to a new normal and expect a much different future. Some of our clients have found themselves in difficult situations when the borders started to close and we have been lucky enough to be able to assist them. We had a newly married coupled who were doing an Overseas Experience together, living in Europe. One is... an Australian Citizen and the other is from Europe and had spent 7 years in Australia, but never became a permanent resident, so his visa restrictions meant he had to return to Europe. This is how they met and fell deeply in love. He asked her to marry him, and she followed him to Europe. The Australian Citizen travelled back to Australia to visit family in March and while she was here, the world changed. Despite all her efforts, she was unable to get back to Europe to return to her husband. In Australia, our borders closed to non-citizens and non-permanent residents so her husband could not join her in Australia. This has been a very tough time for this lovely couple, not knowing how long it will be before they are reunited. They missed out on being able to spend their first wedding anniversary together during this time and had to settle for a video call instead of a romantic dinner for two! This lovely couple had already decided to return to Australia and make it their permanent home after they finished their overseas adventure. We have now been able to help them to lodge their application for a partner visa and this is what they have been concentrating on during this difficult time. They are never apart so this has been so difficult for them. This visa typically has long processing times with the department and requires a lot of supporting information. This couple have been wonderful with supplying us with the details we need to create a strong application and represent them in their dream to both settle in Australia. They will need to lodge the offshore partner visa, as the applicant is offshore at the time of application. We hope this couple can be reunited soon. Thank goodness for technology but as we all know it is just not the same as being together and living under the same roof! Once travel opens up again, I am sure they will be one of the first ones to book a flight! They have had a couple of flights cancelled already. They would have never imagined they would be stuck like this 15,000 kms apart! If you need help with finding the right Visa for your situation or have any questions, please get in touch with us. Either go to www.aboutimmi.com.au and fill in our survey or email us at [email protected] - we would love to hear from you.

On our trip we will also be embracing, learning and enjoying the Nepalese culture and the natural beauty of the country and its people. Cant wait the countdown has begun!
03.01.2022 WORKING HOLIDAY VISAS NUMBERS INCREASING If you are aged between 18 and 30 you may be able to come to Australia and work, and holiday. There is an increase in numbers being issued each year. The introduction of the three year working holiday visa is expected to assist farmers and regional businesses, where critical work shortages exist. From 1 July 2019 - allocation of Singaporean citizens will increase to 2,500 per year (from 500). Here are some places where the working holi...day visa numbers have been increased: Spain - from 1500 to 3400 places; Israel from 500 to 2,500 places; Peru 100 to 1500 places; Chile 2000 to 3400. Other passport holders from Belgium; Canada; Republic of Cyprus; Denmark; Estonia; Finland; France; Germany; Hong Kong; Republic of Ireland; Italy; Japan; Republic of Korea; Malta; Netherlands; Norway; Sweden; Taiwan;United Kingdom and Northern Ireland can also apply for this visa. Let's make their stay in Australia memorable - greet and welcome them with kindness - they are a great help to our nation, often filling jobs that just simply can't be filled in Australia by locals. They can only stay with the one employer for 6 months at a time. They often increase their English skills and sometimes am looking for an English speaker to practice - so please be patient. Always remember that our fellow young Australians have the same opportunity in their country. 03.01.2022 Meet Deepa Chaulagain - Our Guide from Katmandu Nepal I would love to introduce you to Deepa who is a leading tour guide in Katmandu! Yes a female tour guide! We had the joy of spending the day with Deepa and she was able to teach us about culture and history of Katmandu and Nepal! We went to an ancient city which was mind blowing how much history and culture Deepa shared with us. We also got to try out the pottery wheel and we had many laughs together. It was a personalized tour with only our family ... an experience we will always remember. Transport was clean and the driver was exceptional ... all organized through Deepa. I recommend Deepa and here is her business card!
03.01.2022 Client Rumors! Just heard a rumor today from one of our clients about the English language skill level being changed from 6 to 6.5 for RSMS transition Subclass 187. 03.01.2022 My first roses for 2021! One of my favourite days is to get up early and head to the Brisbane fresh flower markets. Stepping into the cold flower room is a delight in the warm Brisbane weather. I highly recommend this delightful trip walking amongst the natural, fresh, beautiful flowers and enjoying every step! If you live in Brisbane, you should try starting your day like this if you love flowers. Or maybe you have some place similar in your town! A great way to start the day

I yearn to see the northern lights but having this at my doorstep most days makes me wonder why at times.
