25.01.2022 Sharing this amazing story of VBAC success! This mama delivered her 12lb baby boy pushing for 6 minutes, without tearing. It was her 2nd VBAC (vaginal birth aft...er cesarean). Please don't believe them when they say your baby is "too big"! Your body is built for birth! Congratulations mama! *edited to add: the mother would like to note that she did this without an epidural!! #rockstarmama

25.01.2022 Such a great visual and description of the different stages through a breastfeed

24.01.2022 Take note mamas we have a voice and we can make the changes if we work together!! So proud of my sister Doula 2Life Doula and her beautiful clients

24.01.2022 We need more politicians just like this!!

23.01.2022 This is simply gorgeous

23.01.2022 I’m sure we can all relate

22.01.2022 Not allowing a woman to have a second birth support is ridiculous Doulas provide essential emotional and informational support and the studies support this the world over enough is enough!!

22.01.2022 It was my absolute pleasure to encapsulate for this beautiful mama Thankyou ever so much for your kind words

21.01.2022 Important information mamas

21.01.2022 Great to see even the celebrities have fun with parenting

20.01.2022 Have you thought about your birthing space?

18.01.2022 I lost my first baby at 11wks to an ectopic pregnancy and I resonate with all of these women. From the day you conceive you are your babys mama regardless of when your loss occurs. Every loss whether it be a miscarriage an ectopic pregnancy or a stillbirth every woman that goes through this should have their feelings around this devastating moment in her life validated and given profuse compassion. Please remember to always acknowledge her pregnancy and support her through her loss.

18.01.2022 Oh these pair crack me up

17.01.2022 Awwww those first cuddles all the feels and look at all that beautiful vernix Mother Natures moisturiser!!! . . .... #Repost @orgasmicbirth My Body, My Birth, My Choice @withrepost @melissa_ayling . It can be hard asking questions to your caregivers sometimes. It can be hard saying no too. You might be putting them right out of their comfort zone. You too might be right out of your comfort zone. But when you stay strong with what you want you can leave that appointment feeling empowered. You grow when you step outside of your comfort zone! If you start to second guess yourself, affirm to yourself: my body, my birth, my choice To be honest- it takes practice. But each time it will get easier. @paulabeltrao_photography #yourwaterbirth #oasisbirthpools . . #birth #vernix #cuddles #mamalove #birthchoices #baby #newborn #love #amor @doulamama.t

16.01.2022 Again our thanks to you Hannah Dahlen for speaking up for the women

15.01.2022 Awwww this is gorgeous

14.01.2022 Thankyou Hannah Dahlen for all the research and support for Doulas we thoroughly appreciate what you do for the women, Midwifery and Doulas alike.

14.01.2022 So important mamas that you as a consumer are lobbying these hospitals to reinstate the two person support for birth

14.01.2022 I have to say I am thoroughly impressed with this MP If only the QLD MP’s would also get behind this, every woman in every state deserves to have the support of her choosing and we Doulas are professionals that deserve recognition for the work we do!!

13.01.2022 Never underestimate the power and strength of a mama

12.01.2022 Midwives love doulas and appreciate that they have an important and different role in the birth team. . A Registered Midwife is a primary health care provider..., their primary focus is the health and well-being of mother and baby. Midwives are constantly assessing, providing feedback using clinical judgement to further labour progress and keep mom and baby well. Midwives perform many clinical duties such as take blood pressures, assess fetal heart tones, perform vaginal exams, insert IVs, manage hemorrhages and of course deliver babies . A (labour) Doulas primary focus is constant physical and emotional presence, support, and guidance. Doulas know a great deal about physiological birth. Ways to approach each stage of labour and how to help with pain, breathing (focus), and position change. Doulas are often helpful at involving the partner, providing information before and after birth and assisting with breastfeeding. . Of course Midwives often rub backs, use gentle words, suggest position changes and techniques to facilitate physiological birth and alleviate pain. However, none of these things supersede their clinical role. . Doulas are invaluable supports for mothers and their families and the research is good Birthers with doulas in attendance: are less likely to use epidural analgesia are more likely to have a vaginal birth are less likely to have negative feelings towards their birth (whether Cs or Vaginal) are more likely to have shorter labours are less likely to have a babe admitted to NICU* . *these stats from studies involving trained doulas, not a hospital staff members or part of the birthing persons social network. 12.01.2022 Oh how I love this and so true gosh do we love it when a mama tells us she has an uncontrollable urge to

12.01.2022 Absolutely this is not ok, regardless of the mode of birth if a woman is treated with unconditional support, dignity, respect and is active in her discussions to give care providers informed consent she will always feel empowered and satisfied with her birth experience. We need to take the power of birth and give it back to our women because birth trauma is completely unacceptable by something as simple as not listening to her wants and needs because this is her body and her baby and she will remember her birth as vividly at 90yrs old as she does the day she brings her baby earthside.

12.01.2022 OMG this is HORSESHIT Honestly now I have heard it all

12.01.2022 Fantastic podcast from Professor Jenny Gamble well worth listening to mamas

11.01.2022 Imagine if this was Australia
