25.01.2022 WERE GOING INTERNATIONAL (BUT STILL WORKING OUT THE DETAILS) This term we have been trialling out our International Baccalaurette (IB) tutoring programs (various study boards) in: Maths Chemistry... Physics Biology We are looking to be able to offer online tutoring to IB students all around the world, we are hoping to setup in the UK over the summer to offer affordable, quality online tutoring services to students in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Rozi completed her schooling in the UK and knows the ins and outs better than anyone else! The IB curriculum is a significant step up from any of the Australian senior curriculum's on offer (in the sciences we have been testing) and often reaches levels of knowledge required for first year university studies. Students in Australia who are completing the IB curriculum will be able to access tutoring of a level not currently being offered. A-LEVEL AND GSCE Further to this, if all goes to plan, students who are undertaking their A-level and GSCE level studies in 2020 and completing their exams in July 2021 in the UK/NI will be able to access tutors based in the UK and around the world. There is a significant gap in the market we aim to fill! We are currently working out the nitty gritty legal stuff - Watch this space!

25.01.2022 YOUR CHANCE TO HELP ME EMBARRASS ROZI AND MAKE A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE Ive been growing my glorious mane of hair since we arrived back in Australia in March and its time for it to go! On Friday the 25th of September i will be shaving my head for the Worlds Greatest Shave, a cause i think we can all get behind.... It will embarrass Rozi because it will expose just how odd shaped my head is, and raise a few bucks for a good cause. We will do some fund raising stuff before the event, if you can give anything please do :) https://secure.leukaemiafoundation.org.au//FundraisingPage Cheers, Liam

23.01.2022 ANOTHER CHARITY POST Our aim is to raise $10,000 by the end of next year! We currently have some absolutely amazing tutors donating their time, and instead of pocketing some easy cash, we are giving it all to worthy causes, including;... Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation Headspace Deadly Science These are all incredible organisations that we love to support. Thank you for all the support, it allows us to help as many as we can :) This is just the beginning, we have a few more charity sessions starting in term 4! Liam and Rozi

23.01.2022 Through term 4 and the summer holidays we will be running a "work along at home" exploring science session, the cost will be $20 per week and we will run a 45 minute online class and send out materials and methods for all of the experiments! These sessions will suit students in primary school who have a keen interest in science, some planned experiments include: Exploding hydrogen balloons (definitely NOT a do along at home experiment!... Boiling water using aluminium cans and drain cleaner (not a do at home experiment!) Testing the pH of various household items using cabbage Yeast powered rocket engine (i have been perfecting this for months and still haven't quite got it right!) How we can use Rube Goldberg machines to represent physical sciences! Any much much more, the cost of the session will go mostly to cover the materials each week as we build up our in home lab :) (i am definitely on a watch list somewhere). Please get in contact with us if you're interested. Cheers, Liam and Rozi

22.01.2022 TERM 3 - THANK YOU We just want to say a huge thank you for the support, this has been a very long term, we have grown to a level we never thought possible. With each like on a post, with each recommendation you're helping build a movement! We are certainly feeling worse for wear after this term, a week away with the kids is definitely needed. None of this would have been possible without the support of our incredible team of tutors, i definitely haven't been able to show... them enough support this term! They have understood and every single one has stepped up to the plate and smashed it out of the park. Thank you all, whether you're a follower, you're a parent, a teacher, a tutor, or just someone sending good vibes, from the bottom of my heart. Liam

22.01.2022 VOLUNTEER OPPURTUNITIES Some of our amazing tutors donate a portion of their time to teach sessions at no cost, with the cost of that session donated to one of our charity partners (at the end of the term). It's another way we are giving back and allows tutors to gain valuable experience as well as giving something back to the community.... Tutors also donate their time to assist those who may need it most, we have a number of sessions that are given at no cost (please see our reviews), it is incredibly rewarding for everyone involved! If you are a tutor and you are interested in donating even half an hour of your time please let us know! Cheers, Liam and Rozi

20.01.2022 ALL ACCESS LANGUAGES This is something we have been working on for months and we are still perfecting, but we are so excited to tell you we are offering the languages in the picture! We have been doing it for those who asked as we have a vast array of incredible language teachers, all of which are bilingual or native speakers!... We are still working out the details but please get in contact with us, and if you want a language we do not offer please get in contact and i will find someone :). Next year we will have a portion of the business just dedicated to the languages, we definitely think we can take it by storm :). Cheers, Liam and Rozi.

20.01.2022 RECRUITMENT DRIVE The support from the education community in Australia has been so incredibly humbling, we have a tutor and student in every state (no students in SA actually, we need to fix this!). We are looking to finish 2020 with 60 tutors on the books (actually employed, not subcontracted), and begin term 1 2021 with 150+!... We are looking to recruit the following; - Online tutors, all subjects, all age groups - In person tutors, all subjects, all age groups, every state, every city in Australia. Tutors will go to students houses to provide in person tutoring services. - Tutors to work in a pilot tutoring centre in our new FNQ (Townsville initially) HQ to begin term 1 2021. And for the first time, we are tentatively recruiting UK based tutors, all year levels, all subjects, online only for the foreseeable future. We are still in the process of working out the boring stuff for this :). Please either message the page or send us an email to; [email protected] We will aim to respond to everyone within 2 weeks as we are currently snowed under with a switch in admin systems. Cheers, Liam and Rozi.

19.01.2022 Excuse the post spamming but this is the pick me up i needed today! I have been working with "student" for the past 10 weeks, at the last exam he was only able to answer a small portion of the exam questions and had failed the exam. To the point where he was told he had to pass this term or risk dropping back to essential maths. We have been working every Monday at 7am, he has worked his butt off to get to a passing level, ESPECIALLY given the data suggests it was a very har...d exam. I know a C- may not mean much to some, but it represents an incredible improvement in understanding, confidence and abilities. The turnaround has been incredible to watch, now let's make that C a B+!!! "Hi Liam, its "Student" here.....got my maths exam results today,. Not many people in my class passed with the highest grade being a B+. I managed to get a C-. Thank you very much for everything you have done for me. I appreciate it and will see you next term!" Liam.

19.01.2022 Hey guys if you have an AUTOMATIC BANK TRANSFER setup please don't forget to cancel it while you have a break over the holidays!! (AUTOPAY customers don't need to worry they're paused until next invoices come out after holidays) Thanks guys, makes my admin much easier! :) ... Rozi

18.01.2022 Academic Burnout As we move closer to the end of term 4 it will become more and more important to keep an eye on student welfare. Many of our senior students are at the end of their tether, i can't imagine how hard this year has been! Be on the lookout for the following signs of burnout:... Can't sleep or tired all the time Lack of motivation Irritability around school work, lack of engagement Loss of confidence in their work or "giving up" Increase in bad habits such as eating, not sleeping etc. Anxiety and/or depression These are just some of the symptoms that students may experience, if you think your child is suffering from academic burnout please get in contact with us. If we think your student needs a break, we will definitely let you know, sometimes less is more! Liam and Rozi

18.01.2022 I just want to say a huge thank you for the support, at the beginning of this term we had 7 staff, 200 likes and we were growing at 2 sessions per week. At the end of week 8 we have hit 700 likes, 50 5* reviews and we are growing at 15 sessions per week. We now have around 55 staff (i can't keep up). Our aim was to provide affordable and accessible tutoring to every student who required it. Whilst it is an impossible goal, it's something we will never stop striving for we ...can hold our heads high, bring on term 4 and next year! Cheers, Liam and Rozi.

16.01.2022 Group revival I worked at Griffith University from 2011-2016 and a large portion of my work was with Open Universities Australia and Griffith Online. Throughout that time we predominantly used Facebook as a means of communicating and collaborating with our students. When we started in April we create this group but unfortunately it has fallen by the wayside as we got bigger and busier. It worked really well in the beginning, a great way to have informal discussions and... instantly get information through to everyone. We are going to start using it again and if you're a student or parent of ours, (and the tutors) please join it! I want to make it a safe, collaborative space for all of us to communicate and participate in getting the students over the line this year :). All of the research we did pointed to the fact that the more collaboration we had, the better the outcome for the student. Cheers, Liam.

16.01.2022 TUTOR SPOTLIGHT Weve been mulling over how to do this recently and i think we have finally cracked it. Ive never believed in doing staff of the week or month, i dont think it promotes anything other than a toxic work culture. Creating an inclusive work place is part of our company charter! We believe all of our tutors are worthy of the award, every week! If i didnt think that, i wouldnt trust them with our students. So we will be running "tutor spotlight" highlight...ing the incredible work out tutors do! Erin is one of our amazing primary tutors, our second primary tutor hailing from the US of A. From the moment i spoke with Erin, her infectious positivity and amazing attitude resonated with me, i had to have her on the team! She is one of our most in demand tutors, spaces with her do NOT come up very often. I asked her some questions (these will change each week): What made you want to start teaching? I knew I wanted to be a teacher ever since I was little, thanks to my mum. My mum was a teacher for 40 years before she retired. When I was a young kid, she taught night school for high school dropouts. Sometimes my dad would take us to her school and I would be mesmerised watching her in front of the classroom. Id then go home and try to be like her as Id teach my stuffed animals. They were horrible participators, but excellent listeners! Whats your favourite thing to teach? I love teaching maths. Its solving puzzles and making connections which I think is so fun! Top tip for exam/general study tip? Relax and be confident! Get a good night sleep and eat a good breakfast. What made you want to work for us? Like most of us, when Covid hit, we needed to adapt and restructure how we did things. I hadnt thought about online tutoring before but it seemed like an interesting idea. After meeting Liam and hearing about his company of putting the children first and making learning fun and accessible to families around Australia, I knew this would be a great place to work, and it is!

15.01.2022 Hey guys if you have an AUTOMATIC BANK TRANSFER setup please dont forget to cancel it while you have a break over the holidays!! (AUTOPAY customers dont need to worry theyre paused until next invoices come out after holidays) Thanks guys, makes my admin much easier! :) ... Rozi

14.01.2022 Appreciation post The best compliment someone has paid us so far, was when they asked us where our multi storey office in Brisbane was. As that was the impression they got of our business. This may seem strange, but this entire operation is run out of our home office, with kids who aren't in day care yet, we are often found in here at midnight, then back at 5am. Rozi is the backbone of the company, she's the one doing everything behind the scenes that i wouldn't have a c...lue how to do! Being a small business doesn't mean you won't get the same service as the big guys, in fact i guarantee you will get better service here than anywhere else. This won't change, never ever ever. A huge thank you to everyone for the support thus far, 5 days to go before a well deserved break for a week! Liam

14.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day Happy fathers day to all the dads out there! We hope you all had an amazing day.... Liam and Rozi

14.01.2022 ATAR CHEMISTRY EXAM PREP We are running a 4hr exam prep workshop for QCE chemistry on Thursday the 1st of October This session will focus on organic chemistry, electrochemical cells, stoichiometry and industrial chemistry. The first hour will cover units 1 and 2 and attempt to fill any knowledge gaps students may have. Students will be provided with a workbook to work along as well as an annotated practice exam based on what has been given to students this year, as well ...as previous exams. The cost will be $100 for the 4 hours, session will be recorded for life. Please message the page if you're interested. Cheers,

14.01.2022 Good News Sunday Apologies for the post spam this evening! This evening i messaged one of our parents to ask how their child was going and i was met with a message saying it was going ok, she had acheived 33% for her maths exam.... Initially i was concerned, until i probed further, in the previous exam she had received 7%, but the most important thing was that her CONFIDENCE was through the roof, and she was sure she had done better than she had. If that's not one heck of a transformation i don't know what is. This is why we do this, this and nothing else. We could both make a lot more money in our "normal jobs", but that's why we left them!

14.01.2022 AD HOC Sessions As exam and final assessments draw closer we are happy to offer once off sessions when needed. We have built an incredible bank of tutors who can take sessions as needed! Costs will be... 30 minutes - $25 45 Minutes - $35 1 Hour - $45 We can also offer assignment draft editing and proofreading services (PLEASE NOTE WE WILL STRICTLY ADHERE TO ACADEMIC INTEGRITY GUIDELINES, WE WILL NOT BE WRITING ASSIGNMENTS FOR STUDENTS). Please get in contact if you require once off sessions :) Liam

12.01.2022 In Person Tutoring This is something we have been working very hard on and have continuously pushed back our start date to make sure EVERYTHING was perfect. We have around 10 in person tutoring sessions already organised for term 4, the hardest part is not finding students but those (teachers/tutors) who fit the mould of "Us". ... All sessions conducted by our tutors will be conducted under the strictest hygiene standards that are reasonably attainable. Where a student, sibling or parent may be vulnerable, we will ensure that the precautions are even stricter. All in person tutors will receive infection control training and this will be constantly monitored. Happy learning everyone! Liam and Rozi

10.01.2022 YOUR CHANCE TO HELP ME EMBARRASS ROZI AND MAKE A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE I've been growing my glorious mane of hair since we arrived back in Australia in March and it's time for it to go! On Friday the 25th of September i will be shaving my head for the World's Greatest Shave, a cause i think we can all get behind.... We will do some fund raising stuff before the event, if you can give anything please do :) https://secure.leukaemiafoundation.org.au//FundraisingPage Cheers, Liam

09.01.2022 TWO DAYS TO GO (For QLD and VIC anyway, sorry everyone else!) We've almost made it, this term has been a mammoth effort by everyone involved and we are so grateful for everyone that's been apart of it!... Liam and Rozi

09.01.2022 School Holiday Reminder Hi All, Just a reminder for our school holiday sessions, please send us a message or email if you haven't already, we will be asking this weekend, but it's a lot of students to go through so please help us out :).... Cheers, Liam and Rozi

08.01.2022 Moving office! Hi Everyone, we are moving into a real office now, we are growing up! We will be working mobile until next Monday so please bear with us, we might be a little delayed getting back to you! Thank you for all of your support this year!... Liam and Rozi

08.01.2022 BIG CHANGES We have been working super hard on this, and we know it will put an end to any of the issues we have. What does this mean? We will be setting up TeachWorks today, the tutors are already in there and we will have all of the students and parents added tonight! ... Please check your email for a link (check spam) to setup your account. Nothing will be changing for the week of 21st-27th of September, we will phase in the new system in the second week of the QLD/VIC school holidays. Sessions will run as is for this coming week :).

07.01.2022 Can you pop a balloon with an orange peel?

07.01.2022 Thank you for your patience To everyone who has enquired about new sessions, we aplogise for the delay, we have had to slow down offers and we are working our way through the waiting list as we speak! Offers will go out tonight or Friday night with offers for term 4 :).... Liam and Rozi

07.01.2022 Thank you! So much of what we do relies on the support of everyone around us. We don't spend money on Advertising, we don't hide behind anonymous Google reviews, and we are all about accountability :), all in a bid to keep our advertising costs as low as possible to help as many people as we can. A huge thank you to all of those who have given us a review, it means the world to us. After only 5 months i cannot believe we have made it this far.... Cheers, Liam and Rozi

06.01.2022 EXPLORING SCIENCE This morning in our exploring science session we looked at; Why do we wash our hands?... How can we make mould/bacteria grow faster? We used bread and a number of variables to check these, including placing unwashed hands onto the bread, then washing using soap, then hand sanitiser. If just one person starts washing their hands properly after seeing the results, i'll be happy! Have a great weekend everybody :) Cheers,

06.01.2022 Feel good Sunday I've said it time and time again that we go above and beyond for our students! What do you get when you mix a struggling gifted student, two engineers, an organic chemist, a mathematician and a physicist?... One heck of a mind map and hopefully a path forward for one of our senior students struggling with this year! We don't do one size fits all, we don't do cookie cutter, some of our students require outside of the box thinking, which is what we specialise in! #Notjustatutoringcompany

05.01.2022 Our aim was to create a truly mobile business and I think we succeeded! We are making our way up to Townsville slowly up to Monday when we arrive. Thank you for your patience as we are a little slower in responding at the moment! What do you get when you mix two kids a car a cat and 1600km? Liam and Rozi

05.01.2022 School Holidays To all of our current students/parents, please check our email, you should have received an email asking you to confirm availability for your respective school holidays :). We have students and tutors in all states of Australia, we try to take a week off after each term for family time (and to get out of the office!) for the four of us.... We do not lock people into contracts or outrageous payment terms, the students are our main concern and if they need to take a week or 2 off to recharge and recover for the next term then that's what they should do :). If students are happy to work through the holidays then we will facilitate that as well. Throughout the first week of the Queensland school holidays from the 18th to the 25th, we will be away so admin assistance will be limited but sessions are still able to run :). Cheers, Liam and Rozi

05.01.2022 Shave the directors head! As many of you know, our director Liam Thomas had a very odd shaped head and has been growing his locks specifically to have them shaved off. We have already raised almost $400, we are hoping to raise upwards of $1000, if you are able to give anything it would be much appreciated.... We are hoping to raide $10,000 for charity in the next 12 months and this would be a great start! https://secure.leukaemiafoundation.org.au//FundraisingPage The event will be live streamed Friday the 25th with the exact time TBE, Rozi and Bella (miss 5 year old) will take great pleasure in exacting their revenge! Cheers, Liam and Rozi

05.01.2022 TWO DAYS TO GO (For QLD and VIC anyway, sorry everyone else!) Weve almost made it, this term has been a mammoth effort by everyone involved and we are so grateful for everyone thats been apart of it!... Liam and Rozi

05.01.2022 Due to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation in South Australia we are suspending all in person operations on SA until further notice. The safety of our staff and community is at the top of our priority list. Thank you for your understanding... Liam And Rozi

04.01.2022 Gifted Students At the moment we have more than 40 students who have tested as gifted on the books. Being a "gifted" student and having an understanding of the pressures of what it entails has given us the ability to match the needs of these students to our various tutors. We do not have a cookie cutter approach, every student is different and this includes gifted students. We develop individualised learning plans and constantly adapt and change our approach as the st...udent grows and develops in confidence. If you have a student who has tested gifted and requires a different approach, please get in contact :). Cheers, Liam and Rozi

04.01.2022 ATAR BIOLOGY EXAM PREP Do you want to consolidate the knowledge you have been compiling since the beginning of the year? Struggle to put together the pieces with the big questions? We will be running an intensive year 12 QCE biology exam prep session, students will be given a work book to work through during the session as well as a mock exam with answers and notations!... The session will be recorded and uploaded for further study before exams! The session will be running from 3pm-7pm Monday the 28th of September, the cost will be $100 with materials included. Please message the page if you're interested!

04.01.2022 HQ IS MOVING The time has come to make our move to FNQ to reunite our little family once and for all! We will be upgrading from our little home office and we will be opening a pilot tutoring centre using the things we have learnt this year! Nothing will change, it will still be the two of us running the company .... We will be moving at the end of this year and hoping to have our new HQ ready to go for term 1. We have made one heck of a splash this year, we know what people want and don't want from tutoring companies, and we will implement this again up North. We will still be operating in all states, cities and towns and even overseas! Just from a new location! Thank you for all of the support . Liam and Rozi . . . . . #notjustatutoringcompany

03.01.2022 We take our employee welfare very seriously, all tutors are covered by relevant insurances whilst working from home, or wherever they may be at the time. We offer a flexible, inclusive and an incredible work life balance. Next year, it is our hope to employee another director to look after the "people" section of the business, to ensure teacher, parent and student welfare. Because at the end of the day, this is the most important thing, we can't help other students if we a...ren't in a position to help ourselves. We are undertaking courses with Work Cover to ensure we are in a better position to help any employees who may be feeling the current pressures that are exacerbated by COVID-19. Thank you all for being amazing, we have your back! Liam and Rozi.

03.01.2022 We started exploring science... which crystals will grow faster?? We'd love to see photos/videos all you guys doing your experiments when you do them :) We'll see you next week to talk about the results!!

02.01.2022 TUTOR SPOTLIGHT Brenton is our amazing senior English and Japanese teacher, he has been full since he started! What made you get into teaching?... I was interested in working with young people and exploring ideas in a setting that continuously changed and allowed me to meaningfully engage with the needs of young people. What are the biggest challenges students face in this day and age? The world is changing in unprecedented ways, and school is preparing young people for a future that most adults themselves are not well equipped to handle. I think the tools for entering into a constantly shifting future from a constantly shifting present in a way that allows young people to remain positive, hopeful and healthy are being improvised, and in some sense young people are being called on to take a greater leadership role in their own communities as this process begins to create itself. What made you want to do tutoring? I wanted to build off my teaching experience in a way that stripped away some of the formal structures, and focus on teacher to student engagement, and negotiated interest driven learning.

02.01.2022 ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS A NEW WHITEBOARD We are currently putting together some programs over the summer holidays!... What would you like to see? Some of our ideas are; Transition to University Learning (from year 12) Transitioning from year 10 to senior Chemistry refreshers Biology refreshers Maths refresher Family discovering science - we will send out the list of experiments each week to do along at home. Is there any demand for it? let us know!

01.01.2022 Change is as good as a holiday After a good 2 months of deliberation, testing, customisation and pulling our hair out, we have FINALLY decided we will switch to TEACHWORKS for the rest of the year and beyond. It will be phased in this week and tested over the holidays as we are running at about 30% capacity so it's the perfect time!... Teachworks boasts features such as: Student logins Parent logins Tutors will write notes during each session Materials can be uploaded for each session All of the payment systems will also be integrated And the possibility of Zoom integration, This also means that any sessions not prepaid will not be allowed to go ahead unless previously arranged. It has been really It will make life so so so so so so much easier for everyone, thank you for the patience, we grew by 700% in term 3, and we simply haven't had time to catch up until now. Cheers, Liam and Rozi

01.01.2022 COST PRICE MADNESS Hi Everyone! After the success of my $30 sessions over the summer, we are launching COST PRICE SESSIONS FOR NEW STUDENTS from the 12th December to 24th January. These sessions will return to full cost in week 1 of the term and the session times are not guaranteed to continue into the term due to returning students.... We will not make a cent from these, actually we will almost certainly lose money but it is out turn to give something back! We also want to support our amazing tutors over the summer break (some want to take a break) because they have been so incredible to us and we are desperate to help them out! Please get in contact with us! Liam and Rozi
