19.01.2022 Allamanda House Mackay has just played host to 2 lovely Finnish Couples for 3 nights. While in our fair city they escaped the heat (and saw some native wildlife) with trips to Eungella and Cape Hillsborough and last night enjoyed the cooling breezes river front at Marias Donkey Tapas Bar. The langauge of Sangria is universal! On the subject of language, we crossed that particular barrier through showing the film Red Dog and without a great grasp of English our guests underst...ood and laughed and cried through out the movie...dogs, it would seem translate world wide!! Pickles Blossom the tiny Allamana Mascot got a true work out and was much loved by our guest...a hearty Thanks to the pretty,cheeky puppy. We took our guests to the Marina and the local beaches and they were amazed at the jewels we have ripe for the plucking right at our doorstep.. Mackay shone 'bright like a diamond'" last night as the ever expandining city was laid out before us from the lookout in North Mackay..we are really coming of age as a City and I am proud to be a resident and a local!! 17.01.2022 Hello...its the Friday before QME week and we are happy to report that we almost have a full house!! 17 out of 20 beds over 4 nights have been filled....but....if any needs it or is asked about accommodation during period 23 through 26th July in Mackay we still have 1 bed on Tuesday 24/07 and 2 on 26/07...so please spread the word and thank you for all the "likes" and support....We are VERY excited...many years and many houses in the making and it all comes down to this..our maiden voyage..we only hope we are not the Titanic!!!

13.01.2022 We are so close to the stadium that I can hear Elton John singing loud and proud..hope our lovely guests are enjoying the show as much as we are ..great concert and Mackay has embraced all things Elton..... beautiful night!!
