24.01.2022 This Saturday - hectic tunes happening at the Red Hill! Doors 7:30, $20/$15

23.01.2022 Such a pleasure to accompany a couple of Holly McNamara's songs with her at Newstead Live Music Festival last weekend. Watch this space for future collaborative gigs!

23.01.2022 I had such a nice time playing tunes last Sunday for the Malmsbury Village Fayre. Here's Jill Findlay and I tearing it up in the town hall. This Sunday I'll be doing some solo harp tunes 10:30 til 12 at the Buda Traditional Arts Fair

23.01.2022 Had a fab time this crafternoon at a Little Grassbird workshop. . 10 points to the first person to name a tune this 6-string baby harp could (theoretically) play.

23.01.2022 I somehow ended up being the poster boy for the traditional music program of this fantastic organisation. Fond memories of doing gigs with Tolka organised by Gaelphobal An Droichead. We lived in Belfast for four months in 2014 whilst working with the legendary Brian Finnegan. Notice the PVC flute - made in Malmsbury in Andy Rigby's shed

21.01.2022 It's happening again this weekend! Let's raise the rafters with some good old-fashioned acoustic-music-induced euphoria. This Sunday, 2:00 til 5:00 at Chewton's home of trad music, The Red Hill Hotel

20.01.2022 Thanks to Tom O'Callaghan and The Bendigo Advertiser for this fantastic article on local instrument makers. I talk about making harps with Andy Rigby! https://www.bendigoadvertiser.com.au//why-this-master-cra/

20.01.2022 Weekend full of traditional music workshops and concerts from the fabulous Fèis Rois! (running on Scottish time)

15.01.2022 I'm so lucky to be part of the magical musical that is Come From Away Australia, even in my very modest role as whistle dep. This is the slightly squinty headshot Beth took of me for the show, and the main man Matt Horsley showing me all the fun things we get to blow air through!... 100% recommend seeing the show while it's in Melbourne if you have the chance. It's a very heartwarming true story, with a bangin' score!

11.01.2022 This is Andy Rigby in his shed. These are some of his quieter moments, re-stringing a hammered dulcimer, and showing me the finer points of hand tool usage. Tomorrow his Legendary status will be officially recognised at Trentham Mechanics Hall. Much excellent music will be heard, from 2 o'clock!

10.01.2022 Come From Away doesn't have long left in Melbourne. Go see it while you can! Tell your friends! It's been such a blast doing my handful of shows as Matt Horsley's whistle understudy. The team have done over 200 by now. If friends or family specifically would like to see me play the show, I am on tonight at 8, next Friday 14th at 8, and Saturday 15th at 2

10.01.2022 Tunesday is happening again tomorrow! Come along for an introduction to Irish music. We'll be learning an easy tune the traditional way, by ear. Complimentary tea and biscuits after

09.01.2022 Catching the train home with this shiny new little friend. Just polished and strung today!

07.01.2022 Behold the result of Andy Rigby's latest workshop efforts - the Romanian fipple kaval (caval) in polyvinyl chloride. This tune's strange as it's the only one I know of in the trad Irish repertoite using this funky minor scale

06.01.2022 Free concert tomorrow in Castlemaine! Excited to have the Celtic Piping Club in my hometown for some archaic cane scraping activities, as well as some crankin' tunes!

06.01.2022 So many fantastic musicians on the one stage last Saturday for the Mike Grinter tribute concert at Newstead Live Music Festival. Tonight I'll be playing my Grinter flute with Tolka at The Red Hill Hotel, ~1km from Mike's old workshop

05.01.2022 It turns out espresso martini-fuelled rehearsals are extra productive! Here's Cam and I in the midst of strategic planning - watch this space for upcoming Tolka gigs with spicy new tunes!

02.01.2022 Thanks to Elvin and Cameron for nominating me for #Quarantunes. Lovely playing there, lads! These are a couple of tunes I got from the late Chewton fiddler Alastair Maxwell: the Princess Royal & a quirky setting of the Rights of Man. Alastair was a huge influence on my playing and my repertoire during the first decade or so of my journey into Irish traditional music and he had a lovely collection of obscure versions of tunes that not many people played. I'd say the second tun...e is one of those. I am calling on some of my fellow Central Victorian trad heads to share some tunes with us all: Andy Rigby, Evan Davies, Geoff McArthur, Helen McGeachin, James Rigby, Jane Thompson, Mischa Herman, and Sean Kenan. How it works 1. Share a tune or song of your choice 2. Use the hashtag #Quarantunes 3. Include the WHO donation link: https://www.who.int//diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/donate 4. Nominate a few friends to take part Missing the tunes and company with you all!

01.01.2022 Getting ready to play some tunes at Maldon Folk Festival 2019 with Andy Rigby this weekend. As well as our duo, we're both performing with Harpers Bizarre. Plus Andy's leading the Kyneton Street Band, and somewhere in between all that he'll be at the instrument makers display!

01.01.2022 Getting excited for these gigs, coming up next weekend! Red Hill Hotel 8pm Saturday 1 Feb 163 Main Road, Chewton... $20/$15 Open Studio 8pm Sunday 2 Feb 204 High St, Northcote $10
