24.01.2022 Here’s the results from Comp 2 in the Hopkins River, Sunday 8 November 2020: Heaviest Bag (5 Bream) - David Hall and Gary Devereux, 4.270kg. Heaviest Bream Senior Male - David Hall, 1.240kg.... Heaviest Bream Senior Female - Keira Gordon, 0.719kg. Heaviest Bream Junior Male - Jonah Maher, 1.175kg. Heaviest Other Fish (Perch) - Kurt Howard, 0.662kg. It was a great turn up to comp 2 with 26 anglers (20 seniors and 6 juniors) fishing the comp. The fishing was slow for most of the day and the south easterly made the fishing even more trying.

However in the meantime if you would like to download the Android version to your phone here is a link to our short tutorial downloading it directly from the Gone Fishing Day server. https://tmftournaments.com/gone-fishing-day-android-downlo/ It only takes an extra 10 seconds longer than usual. Just read the short instructions and pictures in the tutorial and scroll to the bottom and select the download button to begin the installation process. 22.01.2022 Here’s the results from Comp 5 in the Hopkins River, Sunday 10 January 2021: Heaviest Bag (5 Bream) - John Gordon & Aiden Gordon, 1.890kg. Heaviest Bream Senior Male - John Gordon, 1.138kg.... Heaviest Bream Junior Male - Aiden Gordon, 0.393kg. 15 anglers (11 seniors and 4 juniors) fished the Hopkins with the morning producing a few good fish but they went off the bite once the sun got up! 18.01.2022 Well guys, This is it. Our last day of trade before we go back to lockdown 2.0! Today, we will operate as normal. The bar will be open from 1pm and trading un...til late. Please note restrictions are still in place! It is crucial that everyone cooperates with us to avoid overcrowding. Please don’t shoot the messenger. We are all here for a good time. Meals will also continue as normal serving from 5-8 for both dine in and takeaway. Also, DONT FORGET YOUR MASK!!! Tomorrow, we will be taking a day of rest. We need to get our heads around everything before we get back into the swing of takeaways. For all urgent inquiries, please contact us on social media. Then from Friday at 1pm we will be back for takeaways only and starting takeaway meals again from 5-8pm daily. We kindly ask you wear your mask whilst in the hotel. And where possible please come in by yourself. We still have restrictions to abide by. But again, we Thank you for your support. Everyone’s been fantastic! It’s so overwhelming. 16.01.2022 The results from Comp 11 in the Glenelg River, Saturday 21 to Sunday 22 March 2020: Heaviest Bag (best 10 Bream for the weekend ) David Hall and Brendan Howard, 8.194kg. Heaviest Bream Senior Male - Ray Fedley, 1.067kg.... Heaviest Bream Senior Female - Wendy Pemberton, 0.738kg. Heaviest Bream Junior Male - Jett Fleming, 0.690kg. Heaviest Other Fish (Perch) - Isaac Primmer, 0.686kg. 16 anglers (14 seniors and 2 juniors) fished the comp. You know fishing is slow when you catch a turtle! (Released). Anglers toughed it out over the weekend with most fish caught from the bridge to Donovan’s. A big thanks to Ray Fedley and Mick McLaren for running the comp. Thanks also goes to Beatle Bailey for sponsoring the accommodation for the comp.
16.01.2022 The results are in for Comp 10! Well done to Isaac Primmer and Morgan Flook for taking out the Aire River comp with the best 5 Bream for the weekend weighing 3.894kg. Heaviest Bream went to Gerry Taylor weighing 931 grams. Thanks to everyone who fished the weekend comp. The fishing was slow but all fish caught were in great condition. Best baits were crabs, shrimp and clickers. Thanks also to Jett Fleming for cooking up a storm all weekend!... Congratulations again to the winners!

15.01.2022 Just a reminder that Stephen Ryan from the Glenelg Hopkins CMA will be at tonights monthly Committee meeting, 7.30pm at the Allansford Hotel. He will be highlighting opportunities for potential environmental works to expand into the Hopkins River over the next 4 years. All members are invited to attend.

13.01.2022 Here’s the results from Comp 9, the Harry Taylor Memorial, in the Hopkins River on Sunday 2 February 2020: Heaviest Bream - Kurt Howard, 1.160kg. It was fitting to see Harry Taylor’s great grandson win the memorial on the weekend. Congratulations to Kurt! ... Just a reminder that the second leg of the Clark Shield will be held this Sunday 9 February from 8am - 2pm in the Hopkins. Allansford will be hosting the event and entries will be taken at the clubrooms. Good luck.

11.01.2022 INVITATION TO ALL CLUB MEMBERS....... The club invites all members to attend a presentation being held by the Glenelg Hopkins CMA on TUESDAY 4 FEBRUARY, 7.30PM AT THE ALLANSFORD HOTEL. Stephen Ryan from the Glenelg Hopkins CMA is meeting with clubs and other user groups around Warrnambool to share the progress to date and seek input into future plans. ... The presentation will highlight the environmental works that the Glenelg Hopkins CMA have completed over the last 4 years on the Merri River. The works aimed to boost the environmental and recreational values of the Merri River through Warrnambool. This included weed control, tree planting and the restoration of fish habitat. We are seeing positive responses in key recreational fishing species such as Bream and Estuary Perch and many other small bodied natives. The CMA will also highlight opportunities for potential works to expand into the Hopkins River over the next 4 years.

Heaviest Bream Senior Male - Tim Brown, 0.987kg.... Heaviest Bream Senior Female - Wendy Pemberton, 0.788kg. Heaviest Bream Junior Male - Axel Savage, 0.829kg. It was a good turn up to comp 3 with 17 anglers (15 seniors and 2 juniors) fishing the comp. It was great to welcome some new members and see some familiar faces back the club.

Heaviest Bream Senior Male - Ray Fedley, 1.253kg.... Heaviest Bream Senior Female - Sinead Rentsch, 1.065kg. Heaviest Bream Junior Male - Rhys McDowall, 0.880kg. Heaviest Bream Junior Female - Alana Bellman, 0.940kg. Heaviest Other Fish (Perch) - Aiden Gordon, 1.390kg. It was great to get the 2020/21 season underway with 16 anglers (11 seniors and 5 juniors) fishing the comp. Some solid Bream were caught alongside a few good Perch.

Heaviest Bream Senior Male - Brendan Howard, 1.078kg.... Heaviest Bream Senior Female - Fiona Steenhuis, 1.247kg. Heaviest Bream Junior Male - Aiden Gordon, 1.031kg. 14 anglers (11 seniors and 3 juniors) braved the wild weather and fished the Christmas Break Up Comp. It was great to welcome some new members and enjoy a pizza dinner with everyone.
04.01.2022 Here’s the results from Comp 6 in the Glenelg River, Saturday 30 - Sunday 31 January 2021: Heaviest Bag (10 Bream for the weekend) - Justin Harzmeyer and Paul Lamb, 8.119kg. Heaviest Bream Senior Male - Brendan Howard, 1.160kg.... Heaviest Other (Perch) - Jodie Baillie, 1.022kg. 12 anglers fished the Glenelg over the weekend catching 36 bream in total with most fish being released back into the river. The fishing was slow but the fish caught were a good size. The next comp will be at the Hopkins River for the Harry Taylor Memorial. A raffle and bbq at the weigh in. 02.01.2022 We are saddened to have to report that the Glenelg River estuary is currently experiencing a significant fish death event following the recent flood events. Dis...solved oxygen levels in the water following the recent rainfall event has plummeted to below levels at which fish and other aquatic animals can survive. We are keeping a close eye on the river.
