Psychological studies about context-dependent memory show us that memory is closely connected to our environment. If we learn or focus on something while in one environment, it is easier to recall that information when we return to that same location. In addition, memory is impacted by our state of mind, which in turn is influenced by our e...nvironment. For those of us working or studying from home (parents and children!) the goal is to create space for a purpose-built focus area. A small step might be making sure your workspace is always set-up in the same way, perhaps with a regular coffee or tea mug that's only used during work time. Or for children, this might mean laying out a particular table cover when working and putting it away at the end of the day. Muscular dystrophy is a neuromuscular, genetic disorder which results in the progressive deterioration of muscle strength and function. The most common form in childhood is Duchenne #MuscularDystrophy, which can see a child using a manual wheelchair by the age of 8, and being completely dependent on an electric one by his early teens.
