25.01.2022 Woah! I was very excited to receive a message this morning asking for an identification on a snake. Not too often encountered in the wild is a species known as a Black Headed Python (Aspidites melanocephalus)! This snake was spotted crossing the road up near a rural town west of emerald. This species is found in the northern half of Australia, they are one of the larger species we have in Australia. They feed mainly on reptiles including monitors and even venomous snake spec...ies! The reason this species has a glossy black head is to allow it to raise its body temperature by only exposing its black head from its shelter. A cool snake to spot on the wild and I’m quite jealous to say the least! Wishing everyone a brilliant start to the week Jordan
25.01.2022 G’day everyone! Hopefully everyone has had a brilliant Christmas! Here is a quick little snap of a Red Belly that crashed a Christmas party in Glenview. The unwanted guest was given the move on order and relocated to enjoy his Christmas elsewhere! Wishing everyone the best over their break and into the new year! Cheers! ... Jordan
24.01.2022 Another devastating day at work. Well today I was called to a house on Nandewar drive in Buderim, unfortunately when I arrived this harmless python was on deaths door. The Client informed me that they had watched someone accelerate towards the snake running him over. He managed to make his way to their front door where he curled up and lay to rest.... I would put all I own on the fact that if it were a koala crossing the road, the driver would have stopped and helped it cross the road. But this animal isn't cute and cuddly and ghee, ignorance is bliss isn't it. Again this is a call to everyone to please spare these poor animals, just because you don't understand them or you fear them doesn't mean you have to do them harm! It is totally unnecessary and is illegal. Our wildlife is struggling enough at the moment with immence habitat loss due to the impending infrastructure around the sunshine coast and the malicious actions of ignorant people is the tip of the ice berg. One day we will only have story's to tell our grandchildren about the amazing wildlife Australia HAD to offer and that used to live alongside us. Rest easy Mr. Python.
24.01.2022 A little feel good story for your Monday night! ~ Common tree snake having a tough time laying her eggs! ~ A little bit of a different type of video today. Let me know what you think. ... *Another reminder that all rescues are free of charge so don't hesitate to call us at any hour!* Below are businesses that offer the free rescue service. 24.01.2022 HARMLESS KEELBACK RUN OVER AND THEN CHOPPED UP WITH A SHOVEL Being a snake catcher can be extremely heart breaking sometimes. * Warning distressing footage * ... This evening at 5:50pm we received a call from wildlife rescue Sunshine Coast in regards to an unknown snake that had been hit by a car. We arrived at the address within 20 minutes of receiving the call where we were presented with a harmless Keelback. The snake had extremely severe injuries that were unlike injuries that would be sustained in a car strike. The snake had managed to get itself off the road and to the safety of the adjacent house’s front lawn where the neighbour came out and unjustifiably caused fatal injuries to the snake. The snake was still alive when presented to us on the end of a shovel. The harm to this snake was absolutely unnecessary, this snake would have just been trying to get his last feed before his big winter sleep and unfortunately he didn’t even make it to winter. I hope everyone is having a better evening than this snake did Jordan
22.01.2022 Hi all! I thought I would post a feel good story for everyone to start the weekend off right! I was called to pick this little bloke up after he got in a very unfortunate altercation with a hedge trimmer! His tail was severely injured in the accident but after the magicians at the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital patched him up, he was cleared for release! ... What a stunning little animal, hope everyone has a great weekend! Jordan
22.01.2022 Python rescue in Buderim Had a call out this morning for a Coastal Carpet Python that had been run over by a car and had taken refuge in a drain. Enjoy the ride along,... Cheers Jordan
20.01.2022 G’day everyone since we are all stuck at home in isolation during Easter, how about we play a game of guess the species! Now these are all species found here on the Sunshine Coast, and relatively common to encounter. Can you guess them all? Answers will be posted at 5pm tonight! Enjoy ... *please no reptile hobbyists or experts*
20.01.2022 Red belly or cobra? This 5 foot Red Belly Black Snake (Pseudechis Porphyriacus) was relocated this morning from Woodlands Boulevard in Meridian Plains. With the recent rains lots of frogs have been on the move. Much to the delight of the red belly who is an amphibian and reptile specialist. Their diet consist of predominately frogs aswell as other venomous snakes and lizards. The luscious swamp and marsh land that surrounds the Mooloolah river and Britinya area mean thes...e guys are relatively common in these parts. One thing about this specie that surprises a lot of people is their incredible ability to flatten their neck just like a cobra would. We sure do have some of the most amazing reptiles on the face of the planet and hopefully we can start appreciating the evolutionary brilliance of these reptiles and give them the respect they deserve! Happy Easter everyone! Jordan
20.01.2022 Have a look at the size of this big girl! This girl was attracting all the males in the neighbourhood, her and all of her boyfriends were making quite the ruckus up in the roof. Isn’t she a cracker!?
20.01.2022 Playing hide and seek with an Eastern Brown snake I was called out to a home in palmwoods today, not only once but twice. Both snakes being Eastern Brown snakes, were caught and released. This snake tried to give me the slip, and hid inside some bricks before I arrived. Lucky after a quick search we located his hiding spot. A quick demolition job and out he came. Snakes are out in force after the rain so stay safe and stay vigilant. ... Hope everyone had a great Friday! Cheers Jordan
18.01.2022 Read it once then read it again... Understand that these animals are only living. Same as you or I, just ending up at the wrong place at the wrong time.
18.01.2022 Python with a fat belly tries to balance on a vine . Unfortunatly this little python took advantage of an unsecured Guinea Pig enclosure. So this is another reminder to secure your pets enclosures to avoid tragedies like this. Make sure enclosures are securely fastened to the ground with no gaps, and mesh smaller than 10x10mm is used. ... I hope everyone has stayed safe during this rough weather. Remember to keep you eyes peeled for our scaly friends in the warm weather to come! Cheers Jordan
18.01.2022 Keep your eyes peeled when driving on Kawana way Unfortunately I was only minutes late from seeing this big fella crossing the road. Instead when I passed him he had already been cleaned up. This is a huge coastal carpet python, and the biggest one I have seen in this area.... Kawana way runs parallel to the Mooloolah River National Park. This means its a hot spot wildlife activity! Unfortunately there are a lot of animal collisions along this road, especially at this time of year and even more so at night. So please keep your eyes peeled when driving along this road, especially at night! Cheers Jordan.
17.01.2022 The Stephens Banded Snake (Hoplocephalus Stephensii)
17.01.2022 Hearing noises in your roof? A friendly reminder that the cooler months are well and truely on their way! This means it’s not only us that are adapting to keep cooler, but also our native reptiles! The cold weather means our reptiles are looking for warm spaces to hunker down in threw these cooler months. Roof spaces are an extremely tempting option for all animals and especially for our beautiful coastal carpet pythons (pictured below). They mean no harm and only want t...o keep warm; they might even get rid of that pesky rat or two up there. If you do happen to hear noises in your roof don’t panic, at All Coast Reptile Relocations we offer roof inspections to clear out any reptiles that may be using your roof to shelter! For any information about keeping snakes out of your roof we are available 24/7 on 0408030881 Cheers Jordan
17.01.2022 A little feel good story for the night! A few months ago Wildlife Rescue Sunshine Coast Recieved a call for a joey brushtail possum that had been in an altercation with a snake! The two were seperated and the brushtail was transfered to the wildlife hospital at Australia Zoo for a check up. He was given the all clear later that afternoon and was fit for release back to mumma who was still waiting patiently at the top of the tree. Apon release the volunteer rescuer noticed t...he snake was still hanging around and needed to be shifted. After showing off his arborial skills, by climbing up the tree I managed to catch him in the canopy. He was relocated swiftly to some nearby bush land and the joey possum was ready to be set free back to mumma in a tree nearby! Unfortunately Facebook won’t allow me to post the video of the Joey being released as well so I will post the video in the comments! Have a great night everyone! Jordan
16.01.2022 warning graphic content PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! Slow down and look out for our wonderful wildlife on our roads! The is a broad shelled river turtle (chelodina expansa) and is the largest of our long necked species. It was found on the side of the Kawana way link road. ... The recent rains bring these guys out of our river systems and can be seen crossing our roads to find more water. This is the first of this species I have seen here which makes this all the more tragic. See more
16.01.2022 Imagine if these eggs hatched in your roof!!!! How crazy is this! The neighbours had seen a python go into the clients roof space, and it was a good thing they did! If this girl hadn't of been spotted there may have been in excess of 20 baby snakes exiting the ceiling space within the coming months! Now would that have been a Christmas surprise! ... As you'll see in the video this little lady would have to take the cake for being the most grumpy snake i have ever caught! Enjoy the video and have a good one! Cheers Jordan
16.01.2022 G’day guys, How gorgeous is this sweet little thing!? This is a harmless coastal carpet python (Morelia spilota mcdowelli) a very common species found throughout the majority of eastern Queensland and northern NSW. This gorgeous snake was relocated from on top of a homes bird aviary in the middle of Caloundra, for Rhys Chapman Wildlife Services .... Luckily the aviary was well snake proofed so this fella wasn’t able to consume any of the clients birds. An important reminder to keep your aviaries safe for you feathery friends! Have a great weekend, Jordan Available 24/7 for all your snake and reptile needs. 0408030881

15.01.2022 Tawny Frog Mouth rescue a few days ago from the Rocky Creek Scout grounds in Landsborough. This little tacker was found sitting next to the road holding his wing low. So a quick trip to Australia zoo Wildlife Hospital to be checked over. Remember we are available 24/7 and free of charge for all injured wildlife! Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! ... Cheers Jordan
15.01.2022 Can you tell the difference between snakes mating and snakes in combat? Hi guys, it’s the start of spring which is always a very exciting time for us snake catchers. Now during this time we encounter a lot more snakes, and sometimes multiple snakes at once. Now I have put together a little video to help everyone identify the difference between snakes mating and snakes fighting! This is something that we are often asked about around this time of year. Here you will see t...wo short clips, one being that of two male eastern browns in combat and the other of two eastern browns mating! During the video I explain the difference between the two. Hopefully in future you guys will be able to tell the difference too! Enjoy everyone, and welcome to spring! Cheers Jordan
15.01.2022 How crazy is this little tacker that we relocated from a home in bli bli! Apparently the young girls weren’t too fond of their new play mate!
14.01.2022 Guess the ID Play along at home and have a guess at what you think this fella might be! Answer will be posted later tonight :)... Cheers Jordan
14.01.2022 As the weather warms up here on the sunshine coast the reptiles are become more and more active. So be sure to keep our number on speed dial for any relocation, identification or advisory needs. Available 24/7 on 0408 030 881!
13.01.2022 G’day guys, Thought I’d share a pretty funny little video of a python I relocated this morning. Having a stumpy little tail like he did would indicate an injury he obtained a while ago. Reptiles can be extremely resilient when it comes to wounds. Luckily for this guy the injury was about 2cm back from his cloaca (or activity centre if you will ). This means he is still able to do all of his business no worries at all. His tail was completely healed up, so there was no n...eed for vetanary intervention. Having an injury like this would most likely explain why he was so protective of his back end. Hope you all enjoy this video of him having a crack at the camera as much as I did! Cheers, Jordan
12.01.2022 Eastern Brown Snake This is an Eastern Brown snake, it is one of the fattest Eastern Browns I have relocated. This snakes venom is listed as the second most toxic venom of any land snake following the inland taipan. I relocated this snake from a home in Beerwah today. The hot and humid were perfect for snakes to be on the move! Remember if you do happen to stumble across one of our slithery friends, grab the phone and call 0408030881!... Have a great weekend everyone! Jordan
11.01.2022 Say cheese Mr. Brearded dragon Thought I'd share this photo with you guys! I took this the other day while taking a walk. Isn't this little fella just the cutest! This guy is an Eastern Bearded Dragon, and a common species around the sunshine coast.... Who else has seen these guys getting around? Cheers Jordan
11.01.2022 Guess the ID G’day guy! I thought for abut if Thursday fun, we could do a guess the ID. Now this snake is native to the Sunshine Coast, and it is highly venomous. This guys was found a few nights ago and is definitely up there with one of my favourite finds! ... Post your guesses below!! (No snake people allowed!)
11.01.2022 Have you ever seen a python climb? This whooper of a Coastal Carpet Python (Morelia spilota Mcdowelli) was removed from a kindergarten in Montville this morning. The children had spotted him catching some sun by the fence. Luckily once he was spotted the children where swiftly brought inside so neither children nor snake were harmed. It’s commonly asked how snakes manage to get themselves into peculiar spots, such as up high in palm trees or into the rafters of the veranda.... Well upon release, this beautiful specimen decided he would show everyone how to do so. Watching a snake that is as thick as this one, climb up something thin and vertical with no branches to hang onto is absolutely amazing. These animals have hundreds of muscles that run around their body. These are the muscles that they use to not only constrict their prey but also allow them to climb in such amazing fashion. Hope you all enjoy the video and have an awesome week! Cheers Jordan
11.01.2022 Do you know what to do in the event of a wildlife emergency? This is quite a difficult post to write and I’m sure it may be difficult for some to read, but unfortunately it has to be written. Now we are coming into what is know as trauma season. This means that we are seeing a lot more wildlife on the move. Animals are becoming a lot more active, and this mean they are at an increased risk around our busy road ways. ... In just the last few weeks we have been to more rescues than we have relocations. And it’s sad to say but a lot of these animals are unable to be saved. Often and understandably sometimes there is nothing we can do to avoid animals on the road, and we encourage everyone to drive with your own safety at the forefront. But this doesn’t mean that we can’t do things such as slowing down to try to avoid decimating our local wildlife. If, for what ever reason you find ANY wildlife that has been subjected to a car strike, please contact someone licensed to help. (I will list some numbers below). Often these animals can walk, slither or fly off to the side of the road and slowly succumb to their injuries! This can take hours, days, and even months and as I’m sure you would understand this is a horrible way for anything (even a slimy snake) to go. In the event of; Please: - DO NOT PUT YOURSELF IN ANY UNNECESSARY DANGER. - STOP where safe to do so and check the status of the animal; is it alive? This is important to check as people often keep driving leaving the animal heavily injured on the side of the road. - Be sure to activate hazard lights - Phone for help (numbers are below) - Stay with the animal. (Please stay a safe distance, from the animal and the road) -this helps us locate the animal swiftly when we arrive. - DO NOT interact with the animal, it will be in extreme pain as well as extremely stressed. Incorrect handling may cause more damage to the animal and even damage to yourself. - IF, and ONLY IF it is safe to do so, warn oncoming traffic of hazard. - Any photos may help us identify the correct course of action needed for the animal and are welcomed prior to arrival. Below are numbers listed for wildlife workers who will come out and help these helpless animals. Unfortunately not all snake catchers are interested in these types of calls as we do not profit from them. Which is honestly a real shame. Feel free to contact any of these trusted organisations to reach people who are interested in helping our wildlife - Myself - Jordan Sparrow - All Coast Reptile Relocations - 0408 030 881 -Gemma Smith - Gem Snake Catcher - Sunshine Coast - 0484 061 206 -Rhys Chapman - Rhys Chapman Wildlife Services - 0422 090 480 - Luke Huntley - Snake Catcher Noosa - 0499 920 290 - Mathew Hampton - Fast Snake ID - Conservation & Rescue - 0450 743 709 - Wildlife Rescue Sunshine Coast - 0458 682 152 - Below are just a very select few images of animals found on the road.
10.01.2022 How fast are these crazy little fellas? I released this bloke after he was admitted to Australia zoo wildlife hospital. He seemed more then keen to get back out into the wild after his visit to the doctors! ... Hope you all enjoyed your weekend! Cheers Jordan
10.01.2022 WARNING DISTRESSING IMAGE Python bites off a bit more than it could chew Early this morning we were called out to a python on Red Cedar Street in Sippy Downs.... A member of public had seen the snake hanging from a tree coiled around an ibis. The snake was not on anyone's premis but it was in an area regularly travelled by kids going to school. The member of public was rightfully concerned that the snake would get harassed by children on their way to school as it was nearing peak hour. I attended to stand by the snake to divert pedestrians away, but unfortunatly shortly after I arrived the snake had realised that his eyes were way to big for his stomach and it decided to abandon the meal. It should be noted that this young ibis was seen the night before in the same tree flapping and making a fuss. It may have been injured and therefore would of made an easy feed for this snake, unfortunately he wasn't big enough to stomach it!
06.01.2022 Catching a massive goanna in a ceiling space after it was attacked by a dog! Wasn't yesterday afternoon eventful! After recieveing a call about a Lace Monitor that had been attacked by a dog, I hurried to Oceanic drive in Warana. Unfortunatly in the 15 minutes before I arrived the Monitor had made his way into the neighbours ceiling. Where there wasn't just one but 3 in the single ceiling!!... This meant I had to "call in the cavalry!" Recruiting help of Rhys Chapman Wildlife Services, together we managed to catch the large male goanna and transport him to the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital where he will receive treatment for his wounds and be released back into the wild. Enjoy the video guys and remember, we are available 24/7 on 0408 030 881 for all of your reptile needs! Cheers Jordan
05.01.2022 G’day guys, Quick little video here of a juvenile Eastern Brown snake that managed to make his way into an office! Towards the end of the video note how easily this guy disappears under the leaf litter. A good reminder to always be wearing closed in shoes when walking through the bush!! ... Cheers Jordan!
05.01.2022 HAVE A LOOK AT THIS BIG FELLA! He measured at 2.7 meters! We were contact to come have a look at a sizeable carpet python that was curled up a few meters from the side of a very busy road in Caloundra. Our main concern was the he may have been involved in a car strike. This snake was fairly lethargic, he a couple old wounds and a few other things we wanted to have checked out. We took him across to the amazing vets at the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital where he had a th...orough once over and was given the all clear! We received the call late this afternoon to come and collect him for release. This is most defiantly the best part of our job, being able to release our beautiful locals, knowing they have a clean bill of health, and left to live out the rest of their days in the bush! Hopefully everyone enjoyed their afternoon as much as I did! Cheers Jordan
05.01.2022 Aren't red bellies just stunning!? How gorgeous is this little fella relocated by Rhys Chapman Wildlife Services. I attended the release with him to grab some photos of him, and wasn't it worth it!! Hope everyone is having a fabulous week.... Cheers Jordan
05.01.2022 Better check the outdoor sofa! This little cracker had made himself nice and comfy next to the outdoor sofa at a home in Mudjimba. Coastal carpet pythons are more than happy to live alongside humans and are often found lounging around in the protection of homes. Always remember to keep you eyes peeled for our scaley little friends! And keep our number on hand if ever you need assistance! ... Cheers Jordan 0408030881
05.01.2022 A beautiful Common Tree Snake (Dendrelaphis Punctulata) relocated from a garage in little mountain today. The little fella had snuck in through the open roller door to escape the rain this morning! A timely reminder snakes are still active and seeking shelter through these cooler days! Happy Friday everyone and we hope everyone has an awesome weekend! ... Cheers Jordan See more
04.01.2022 Another Guinea Pig down Another quick little video reminder guys!! Make sure your aviaries, huts or enclosures are covered in mesh with small holes! We recommend 10mm x 10mm mesh. Anything larger may allow a hungry snake to enter! You would be surprised where they can get themselves if there is enough incentive! ... These guys are only looking for a meal! They do not understand these animals are pets, they only know that are hungry and there is an easy meal inside! Please remember these animals are operating purely on instincts! Don't give the snakes the opportunity guys! Hopefully you have a better night then our little friend did! Rip Mr. Guinea Pig Thank you to the lovely owners for allowing me to take this video for educational purposes! Cheers Jordan
04.01.2022 How cool is this!? (Try spot them once they have been released! They camouflage incredibly well!) Now you may have caught the short clips on my story of these guys the other day. These snakes are known as Yellow Faced Whip snakes, they are mildly venomous but not generally considered dangerous to humans. They love living in gardens hunting small skinks. Two were spotted mating next to a garden bed and a third one was then seen checking out what the commotion was. ... All three were captured and relocated back out into suitable habitat. Cheers Jordan!
04.01.2022 **LOST PET FOUND** **Diamond Python (Morelia Spilota Spilota)** Hi everyone, putting the call out to anyone who may know the owner of this snake or who may know where it has come from. ... This snake was found in the Bli Bli area on the Sunshine Coast. It is not native to the area and found much further south meaning it is an escaped pet. If you know anything or it is yours please contact me on 0408030881. Proof of ownership is needed before pickup. Cheers Jordan
04.01.2022 This cheeky little Common Tree snake found himself in a spot of bother today when he was spotted in the laundry. The little fella decided his best bet was to climb up inside the washing machine! No troubles though, undoing a few screws we managed to locate him up the top of the washing machine, where we captured him and took him back out to the bush! Hope everyone enjoyed their Monday! ... Cheers Jordan
03.01.2022 RED BELLY IN KIDS PLAYGROUND! Good evening everyone, Hope everyone is well! Does anything say Australia Day like having a highly venomous snake in the kids playground? Luckily this call only came from a few doors down in Brightwater, so we were able to get this guy back in the bush in no time! ... It’s a good reminder to be mindful at all times no matter where you are! Thankfully none of the Bantam chickens or childeren in the yard were harmed! Jordan
03.01.2022 G’day everyone, I hope everybody is having a fabulous weekend! Yesterday I received a call for an Eastern Brown snake that had given a lady an almighty fright in Glenview! When I arrived the snake had disappeared into some long grass on the property. After a quick search of the area we entered the chicken coop, where laying no less than a meter from a nesting chicken, we spotted not just one but two eastern brown snakes enjoying a romantic afternoon in the shade. This video... is a great example of the behaviours snakes display when mating as opposed to two snakes in combat. Hope everyone enjoys the video and has a great afternoon! Jordan *I do not own the rights to the music. Let’s Get It On - Marvin Gaye*
03.01.2022 Python in the Chicken coop! Where you keep chickens, you’ll likely have rats, and following behind the rats you’ll have snakes. It’s not often the snakes are in side your coop looking to feed on the chickens, most of the time they are only in there chasing the rats. ... It was just before dusk when we received the call for a python that had curled up in the coop for a quick nap. He was bagged and relocated elsewhere away from the chickens as obviously they were not a fan of sharing their home. Hopefully everyone is keeping well and staying safe through this crisis! We will be operating as usual 24/7 for all your reptile needs Cheers Jordan
03.01.2022 Hi guys hopefully everyone has had a good day! This big girl was relocated from a home on Bundilla Avenue in Brightwater. The residents woke up for work to discover this large snake in their yard eating a very large bat. She and the bat were captured and she was bought back to consume the meal. She also had an old injury under her mouth that we had checked out the vets. They gave her the all clear as it was all healed and clearly wasn’t impeding her. Hopefully everyone has a wonderful weekend! Cheers Jordan
