22.01.2022 I discovered to my horror that Claratyn antihistamine contains lactose! My son, who is at risk of anaphylaxis to dairy, used to take 1/2 tablet when he was younger but has switched to a liquid antihistamine a few years ago. I was shocked to see this allergen as an ingredient and wondered if anyone has been caught out by it? Just a reminder: Other Names for Milk Ingredients... 19.01.2022 Child in America dies of anaphylaxis due to peanut exposure!!! Doesn't this story just make you ill! We are often blammed as being over the top, too protective and unneccesarily stressed but when you hear a story like this why shouldn't we be. You only have one chance at life, so why wouldn't we be. This article states the mother was allegedly told to keep her epi pen at home!!!! How ridiculous. Think about the impact it will have on all those 1st graders who witness such devastation. 06.01.2022 Protect your students and protect your school! Does your school have students with special dietary requirements, like anaphylaxis, gluten-free, intolerances etc.? Does your school provide food services through a canteen?... Does your school attend camps or travel off campus to venues where your students with food intolerances, sensitivities or allergies require food? Does your P&F run sausage sizzles and you would like to find a way to include all of the community? Protect your students and your school by ensuring good practise is in place during the processing of safe meals.
