25.01.2022 We are super excited to have the wonderful support of Golden Pig & Co for our Allergy Masterclass in Sydney. Their philosophies very much are in line with ours in helping support the allergy community positively. When life-threatening food allergies entered their lives when their daughter was very young they turned their love for food into a mission to solve this food problem - not just for Jordyn (their daughter) - but for the thousands of other Australians living with food... allergies. And thats how Pig & Co was born where wholesome allergy-friendly Asian food was created that was also dense in nutrients and incredibly tasty too! The name the Golden Pig transformed after their youngest daughter Jordyn was born in the Chinese Zodiacs Year of the Golden Pig. 21.01.2022 One of the topics we covered in Allergy Masterclass was anaphylaxis and how it's great for your children to visit an ambulance station. In fact the weekend after our event we visited this open day at our local park. It's great for kids to learn what happens inside the ambulance, learn about all the equipment the paramedics use and if you are lucky you may get to turn the sirens on. This is also a great way to help your child process what happened when they had anaphylaxis and an even better place to visit before your child ever needs an ambulance ride. 18.01.2022 At the Allergy Masterclasses weve run over the past few months Ive talked about Understanding Emotions & Building Resilience. When we dove deep into understanding emotions we explored fear, stress, overwhelm & anxiety. We explored scanning our body in relation to how we were physically feeling as well as how we were emotionally feeling.... This then led us to the facts that when we are feeling overwhelmed & highly anxious our physical symptoms are: difficulty breathing shortness of breath stomach aches feeling hot & sweaty light headed etc What was then explored was that these are very similar to the physical symptoms of an anaphylactic reaction. And thats when panic can escalate even further if we dont have this deeper level of understanding & knowledge. Scanning your body & knowing how you feel when you are in a state of overwhelm, heightened fear or increased anxiety allows you to understand more deeply about what is going on in your body & how to respond in a panic attack. There are some very well researched & explored strategies, techniques & tools that help in supporting you in managing fear, overwhelm, & heightened anxiety including panic attacks. The right information & knowledge is powerful. Having these tools changes peoples lives. You are not alone.

Jackie is a renowned author in the allergy space with 6 published books of the Thai childrens book series. She is the mother of 2 boys one being Thai, the namesake in Jackies book series. Jackie is also a national & soon to be global Allergy Educator, founding the Food Allergy SMART education Program which parents, schools & daycare centers have access to enablin...g all to become allergy aware in schools ensuring that our allergy kids stay safe. Awareness and knowledge is key. Simone Albert : founder of Simone Albert - Food Allergy Counselling & Oliver's Choice - Food Allergies. Simone is a Registered family Counsellor & a Registered Nurse. She is a mother of 2 boys with her youngest Oliver living with severe food allergies to multiple allergens. Trying to build support in the allergy community Oliver & Simone started Olivers Choice that has evolved over the 8 years from recreating top 8 allergy friendly fun, traditional recipes, to supporting the allergy community in living a wholesome, happy & safe life. Education has also been a key in the process as they understand first hand how through understanding the right information lives are saved. Simone has gone on to support the allergy community in the space of emotional, social & behavioural health & well-being areas with evidence-based strategies & theories for supporting those in need. Sharing between them almost 20 years of professional & personal allergy experience they are so excited to share with you all their knowledge & experiences to bring about practical & useful change in the allergy community and to your personal journey! 17.01.2022 We just wanted to say a big thank you to all the families that came to our two Allergy Masterclasses yesterday in Sydney. It was so great to meet you all, hear your stories and be able to share our knowledge. We had some grandparents that travelled all the way from Terrigal a family that drove from Newcastle We saw kids become confident as the sessions went on, and realised there were so many others dealing with allergies too. We saw beautiful friendships made between children who had never met. Thank you to Melissa and Leichhardt school for helping us put on these events, thank you to Golden Pig & Co for supporting our event and also providing families with your awesome food. Its not something that they cover in your allergist appointment so where does that leave you? Overwhelmed, confused? Most people feel overwhelmed when they leave their GP or allergist because they havent been given any education or strategies to navigate actually living with allergies on a daily basis. Thats where we come in and help YOU with real solutions, practical tips, coping skills and empowering you to live an awesome life with allergies! From that & many counselling sessions with clients it was evident the overlap of so many physiological symptoms of anxiety & anaphylaxis that I thought it was important to share with you the connection. "Anxiety when living with allergies can be overwhelming and confusing especially when the physiological response in the body can be very similar to that of an anaphylactic reaction...
