21.01.2022 Hello Cat community!! Going back to when we had our cafe..we created a spin off business called St Gertrudes Garden!! St Gertrude is the patron saint of CATS AND GARDENERS. We had a gorgeous rescue kitten dropped at the original cafe with her mum TAMARA both surrendered who we called GERTRUDE. Little white ball of fluffy attitude. Some of you might remember them... The original cafe in Lydiard St. was a mess and we had a trailer load of rubbish removed every week..I’m still ...having rubbish removed from my home from the first cafe. We had a plan to open up the yard to other pet owners..DOG owners. An amazing few including Sheryl Page and friend Greg helped along with Bob and Aaron. Unfortunately once we had the site looking reasonable the original owner decided to put the shop on the market profiting from our hard work, this was also the case with the second location but also unfortunately couldn’t support our business with food licenses. (business plans should be done before leasing a shop!!) these are all lessons. Moving forward St Gertrudes garden is still going supporting animals and Gardeners alike. If you book a job (lawn need mowing? General Gardening services?) funding goes back to the care of our furbubs. We recently added to our family Minnie and mowing lawns paid for her vet bills. We have another incentive with this virus the PETS PANTRY. a lot of people are doing it hard and therefore might need some help feeding their bubs. If you have any excess pet food, litter ect. could you drop it off in Smythesdale at our pantry at the front gate (a box while I’m organising one) this is like free for food but for pets!!! FOOD SWAP FOR PETS. I can also pick up or drop some off to those who can’t get out. I go into Ballarat every morning. 19.01.2022 Bat Cat always played surrogate Dad. Sometimes he would get the front of the neck mixed up instead of the back to carry them around! A lot of our rescues from the streets had forgotten how to play! This is a wonderful story! Enjoy..
