10.01.2022 Hard to believe it’s been 9 years today that I completed my first ‘loop’ of the country. This time by pedal power & in record time! SO many memories - the blood..., sweat & tears we put into this as a team was extraordinary. There was NO way I was going to let them done. A VERY proud moment crossing the finish line. 06.01.2022 Dave has re-written history overnight by breaking the around Australia record. He has reached the key mark of 13,383km in 169 DAYS, 15 HOURS, 31 MINUTES. Pat Fa...rmer held the best time of 174 days, set in 1999. Dave broke the record at 1:51am (NSW Daylight Savings Time) this morning. It occurred at the corner of the New England Highway and Barley Fields Road approximately 4km north of Uralla. It was a very emotional time for all of us and is difficult to put into words what we have seen from this incredible human being over the past 5+ months. To add to the occasion, it was an honour to have the first man to run around Australia, Ron Grant with us, along with his wife Anne. Whilst Dave is now still asleep and will obviously have a shorter day today after such a late finish, it won't be long until he is up and back on the road. He still needs to complete the loop back to Lismore, approximately 400km away. It will be 'business as usual' and Dave will be attempting to return to Lismore as quickly as he can. I want to finish now by saying a HUGE 'thank you' to each and everyone of you who have been supporting RAA2. We hope you can continue to do so right up to the finish line in Lismore. Your messages of support mean so much to Dave and the crew. As today will be shorter, I will have a better estimate tonight as to when this finish time may be. It is fair to say that we are all looking forward to returning home. Dave continues to run for a great cause. Depression has an awful impact on the lives of far too many people. It is such a boost to Dave's morale to see our fund raising tally climb. Thank you to those people who have already donated to the White Cloud Foundation.
