24.01.2022 With a busy day ahead, this photo has inspired me to take a moment for myself this morning and do something that fills my cup (things you enjoy or find calming, grounding - or alerting of that’s what you need ). For me, that’s turning all electronics off, sitting on the couch with a cup of coffee, patting the dogs, and just being present So, take this as your friendly reminder to do the same! Even if it is for a couple of minutes or so, actually taking some time out for ourselves is important and can bring on positive changes in our mood, behaviour and productivity. What are you going to do today to fill your own cup?

24.01.2022 Whilst restrictions are isolating and can cause increased anxiety and uncertainty, we all have to ensure we are taking the time to slow down and focus on caring for ourselves, one step at a time Self care looks different for everyone- Whether its going for a walk (with a mask), planting some flowers, reading a book, or creating a new routine What are your favourite things to do to take care of yourself?

15.01.2022 Engaging in creative activities can help to reduce stress and anxiety as well as improve awareness, memory and problem solving skills! Heres some tips to help you get started: Set an alarm so you remember to take a break and do something creative ... Physically move away from your study/work space, or the place where you spend most of your time- this will help you to exit the thinking mode and enter the creative/doing mode Remind yourself that its the process that helps your mindset, not what you actually produce! Swipe for a list of creative activities to try!

15.01.2022 Metro Melbourne has officially entered stage 4 restrictions to keep ourselves and our community safe Although we need to maintain physical distancing, it is really important to keep connected to one another to support our mental health and wellbeing Swipe right for some easy tips to stay connected with others @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

15.01.2022 Mindfulness simply means paying attention to the present moment by tuning into our senses- touch, smell, taste, hearing, and sight- and noticing these sensations, without any judgement of ourselves and of the thoughts that will inevitably come and go. It brings us into the here and now and has been shown to have a positive impact on our overall health. Bringing mindfulness into everyday activitites, such as drinking a cup of tea, brushing your teeth, petting your dog can... be a great way to get started. Lets start with a cup of tea; notice the sensation of the warm cup against your palms. Notice the weight of the mug as you raise it to your mouth. Take a small sip and focus on the sensation of the liquid in your mouth. How does it taste? Now notice the sensation of the liquid moving down your throat. Notice any thoughts that may come and go, without judgement, and gently bring yourself back into your mindfulness practice. What are your favourite ways to practice mindfulness? Let us know in the comments below
