25.01.2022 With all the hype around video content, it’s tempting to think that blogging is over. But don’t let this popular notion short-change your content strategy. Your strategy should still involve blogging as usual. Because blogging is, and will remain, an essential game plan to reach your audience. One only has to look at a couple of sobering statistics to realize this:... - You have a 434% higher chance of being ranked highly on search engines if you feature a blog as part of your website (Tech Client). - Businesses using blogs as part of their content marketing mix get 67% more leads than those who don’t (Hubspot). And if that’s not enough reason to place a high value on your blog, then here are ten more reasons why.

25.01.2022 I’ve been lucky enough to have been involved in a number of one on one workshops recently with some very cool allied health people, but one thing has struck me throughout all of this what do you do when your natural client/practitioner relationship is over? Most often than not, we are all very guilty of simply waving goodbye. One of the key questions I ask during these session is what do you, as a health business, do to keep your relationships with past clients current?... If your answer is not much it might be time to stop, analyse and include some key strategies to improve this immediately.

24.01.2022 Business owners in all forms can become stale. I’ve been there. You’re so busy working on what you need to do that the spark may fade or you are simply just too busy. I see this a lot with physios, it’s about client after client, transaction after transaction. Sure, this is great for cash flow but there will come a time when your spark dims and it all gets a bit too hard. This is when I always say it’s time to sit back, re-assess and try and work out new ways to develop yours...elf and your business. Being comfortable is a dangerous thing in business, there are always potential new competitors, technology and even societal shifts. Comfort implies staying in the same ole same ole and is that really what you want? What do you do to challenge yourself and keep your business on point? Not sure? Here’s a couple of tips for you!

24.01.2022 Blogs are such an effective way to improve your SEO and to build your brand and overall trust. Have you even started your blog yet? Here’s our tips to creating quality, lasting, content for allied health professionals.

24.01.2022 One of the most important action items for any Allied Health practitioner no matter your expertise is creating the right relationship with your local GP. If you want the right referrals, you have to nail this initial meeting on the head. We get a lot of questions from confused practitioners asking as ‘what they should do and what they should take’ when they see their GP for the first time. We’ve made a list of the simple things to get you on your way!

23.01.2022 Recently I was asked why you shouldn’t use Wix, Weebly or Squarespace to build your website. It seems like a pretty good deal as they sell you on the easy interface for dragging and dropping your content where you want it to go. It’s cheap too, with low monthly fees. What they’re not telling you is there are problems with this approach. Over the years we’ve helped quite a few businesses move their websites off of these platforms. The simple reason was their experience wasn’t very good and they ended up with a bad website.

23.01.2022 I always get asked by exercise physiologists what can I do to get more patients? New patients (unfortunately) do not grow on trees. BUT new leads and new referrals can grow with a little hard work, fertilising and nurturing. Gaining new patients and clients is not simply a case of spending money on advertising, having a brilliant website and a fancy sign at the front door. It’s about building planned and targeted marketing around yourself and your services. You already face an uphill battle with that fact that you are a new profession and not many out there know what you do so the challenge is twice as hard.

22.01.2022 Thank you for your hard work and dedication to the health of Australians during this pandemic @alliedmagazine

22.01.2022 The social web is huge. From Facebook to Pinterest, they all command billions of eyeballs per year. Which, of course, makes these channels too big to ignore. In other words, you have no choice but to participate in them or else you’ll miss out on traffic and revenue. But, how much time and money should you devote to each social network?... Which ones produce the best ROI? How much are 100 social media followers really worth?

20.01.2022 Authenticity is in short demand these days, yet it is something that so many clients crave. Trust is elusive but once gained can be such a powerful marketing tool for any allied health business. We live in a world where we are bombarded with 1000 statements each day scattered across our smartphones, TVs, radios and a billboards on our way to work. Who can we actually trust?

19.01.2022 So being the owner of an allied health business can be hectic. Well, perhaps hectic isn’t the right way? Madness, yes, let’s go with madness. I work with a fair few ‘healthy business owners’ and sometimes turnarounds can take a while, and I completely understand that. You have to juggle clients, business, marketing, life, familyexercise! It can be daunting. However, getting the right things done can make the world of difference to your business and profits.... I thought I would share with allied health marketing’s top tips to getting things done!

18.01.2022 In our view, one of the greatest promotional tools for your practice is your patient relationship. Like a fine wine, if you keep that relationship safe from the elements, stored at the right temperature and handled properly it will develop into something fantastic. (Yes, we just compared a client to a wine, sorry.) Your patient relationship starts from the very first moment you make contact and and can continue on for years if well planned.

13.01.2022 Having spent the last few months working with a fantastic group of dietitians and nutritionists there has been one common theme passion. Passion for the job, passion for the clients and also, passion for the food. Allied health professionals in general feel so strongly about the roles, but dietitians take this to a new level. I tend to put this down to one thing: food and our emotional attachment to it. You only have to flick on the TV to see some show, advert, news item on food. Food brings people together. Our social and family lives all revolve around what is on our dinner plate.

11.01.2022 I want to talk about networking. Let’s talk about what it actually means shall we? According to the Dictionary networking is a supportive system of sharing information and services among individuals and groups having a common interest, for you and me, it means getting out there and creating long lasting, fruitful, relationships. When you are a small business owner, time is hard to come by so the thought of heading to events merely to talk to people is probably the last thing on your mind.

11.01.2022 As co-founder of Hotwire and CEO of Zillow for the last seven years, 39-year-old Spencer Rascoff fits most people’s definition of success. As a father of three young children, Spencer is a busy guy at home and at work. What’s the one thing that Spencer refuses to do on the weekend? Workat least, in the traditional sense. Rascoff says: I never go into the office on weekends, but I do check e-mail at night. My weekends are an important time to unplug from the day-to-day and get a chance to think more deeply about my company and my industry. Weekends are a great chance to reflect and be more introspective about bigger issues.

09.01.2022 Maintaining a blog is about more than just writing a bunch of blog posts. You should develop a strategy and plan your content especially if you’re writing with multiple staff in your clinic. You should also interact with your audience and respond to their comments. In this post, I’ll explain the importance of content planning and give some practical tips on how to plan your blog posts effortlessly!

09.01.2022 So you have a great few sessions with a client, you fix their issue (or at least help greatly), you say your good byes then what? Do you still keep in touch with them? The power of communication to clients past, present and future is huge just because you have sent them on their way, does NOT mean you should say goodbye. That is where a regular enewsletter comes in keep those communication channels. There are a number of programs out there that can help automate enew...sletters and get them sent out to your database MailChimp, Vision 6 to name a couple. This all points to one thing there is no excuse to not keep in touch! Enewsletters should include relevant information to your clients and increase your position as a knowledge leader, provide valuable hints and tips, offer special rates or one off classes to maintain health and even something funny! We all know that word of mouth is a powerful tool and looking after your current and past patients is just as valuable as seeking new ones so get moving now, and get talking.

09.01.2022 Let’s face it feet are not sexy. Podiatrists, I don’t envy your position. When it comes to feet, unless people have a major issue, they do not usually seek out your help and even then they rely on referrals for their GPs. So the question is, what are you doing to stand out from the crowd and encourage people to focus on foot health?

08.01.2022 Let’s face it, we work with the lot of different allied health businesses and so we come across the most common website mistakes everyone seems to make. We can talk about website architecture, SEO, Google Analytics and all those fancy kinds of things but let’s get down to the bare minimum that every website needs.
