23.01.2022 We are excited to announce that Alligator Creek Community & Sports Club will reopen from 5pm on Friday 10th July. Heres a few things you may need to know: Gaming Room will only accommodate 5 people at a time with some machines out of action. Bar will be open to patrons to sit in and drink at the bar or tables Outside area will be available to sit for drinks or meals Dining Room will be open with patrons who need to go out to the veranda, only being able to use the middle doo...rs in the dining room to exit or entry. Entry and exiting from the club will still be via the front doors, but we ask that you enter and the left and exit on the right. All patrons regardless if they are a member or not will have to sign in upon entry and exit from the club. Outside playground will be available for use, but all indoor toys have been put away for the time being. As always, our patron & staff safety are paramount. The club will be operating under an approved Industry COVID Safe Plan with strict guidelines and various restrictions in place. If a staff member asks your to wait or directs you, please comply. All financial members are encouraged to attend. All Committee positions will be declared vacant at the meeting and a new Committee will be voted in. Nominations are now open. Forms available at the bar. You must be a financial member to be on the Committee and no person can nominate themselves. Nominations close February 14th. The 2020 Aussie Backyard Bird Count will be held from 19-25 October 2020. The Aussie Backyard Bird Count is an activity for all-ages that involves observing and counting the birds that live near... you whether that’s in your garden, the local park, a beach or even your town centre. How does it work? During the week of 19-25th October 2020, community record the birds they see within a 20 minute period, This can be every day or one day, To register go to aussiebirdcount.org.au Down load the BirdLife app Google Play or iTunes During the week of the 19-25th October community can complete and submit their count in two different ways: You can submit your counts through the free Aussie Bird Count app. The app is available for iPhones and Android smartphones, go to the Google Play or iTunes to download the app for free. If you have the Aussie Bird Count app from previous years don’t delete it, it should update automatically with the newest version. In between event dates, the app operates as a field-guide/bird finder. OR You can submit your bird count through the online web form What happens to the data? Data from the Aussie Backyard Bird Count, will help Council, BirdLife Townsville and BirdLife Australia find out about the common species that live where people live. Data will also give a snapshot of Townsville and Australian birds and show trends in the local and national bird communities from year to year. 06.01.2022 What a turn out last night. It was so good seeing old and new faces. It was Rustic Home Cooking first night of service and we know there were some hic up, but thankyou to everyones patience. The gaming room was not open due to the machines not coming on line, hopefully it will be fixed on Monday, but after 3 months, we loved having you at the club.
