24.01.2022 I’ve seen an influx of mums and their beautiful baby bumps and spirited babies lately. It reminds me of my own journey into motherhood and the connections I made within the Homebirth community. I remember we used to do postnatal yoga and meditation with babies in tow, with those friendships lasting all this time. (My oldest child is nearly 9) Our babies are now primary school children and most of us have enrolled our children in the same primary school so it’s pretty special ...to also see their children growing up. A community of women with something in common is a powerful thing. One of those amazing ladies has now created an app to support and connect new parents to experienced parents. I was involved in numerous productions with a ballet company as a young child and from my own experiences, I attribute a wealth of knowled...ge and skills of which I am able to draw on in my professional and personal life. I strongly support the arts and want to encourage all children to dream big! I first met Sarah Williams in 2010 through our Homebirth community. Our children now go to school together and I recently had the pleasure of photographing both Sarah and Anthony Brit’s head shots. I’ve been closely watching their journey with their joint production company (The Gemini Collective) and saw an opportunity for collaboration. In this way, I still feel connected to the performing arts but now I’m one of the magical forces behind the scenes. The Gemini Collective comprises of performers, designers, teachers and collaborators bringing outstanding new stage productions to Adelaide stages, schools and regional community theatres. They set their sights on travelling interstate for the Perth Fringe 2020, showcasing their recent production A Thousand Cranes. The Gemini Collective recently won Best Youth Theatre at the 2019 Adelaide Theatre Guide Curtain Call Awards, the first of many I’m sure. Until January 31st I'll be holding a fundraiser and a percentage of my fees will be donated to The Gemini Collective to go toward their goal of raising $2000. 14.01.2022 Photography can be so complex and also so simple. I don’t have to think twice when I capture nature. I see fashion photographers with their stylists and their models who love what they do and I think it must be so easy to do that. Product photography is challenging and sport is difficult but photographing adults who have had previous bad experiences or no experience at all is my forte. I might love the challenge or I might really enjoy helping people promote their business bu...t I think to be honest, I’m just so accustomed to feeling and being awkward myself, so in that space I can relate. It doesn’t un-nerve me anymore when my clients are feeling insecure or unsure. I’ve learnt to trust the process, trust my gear, my intuition and my skill set. Last week I asked about kids coming along and she said they can absolutely do the class or hang out in the waiting room. I think it’s so important for our kids to see what we do in our lives. They need to get to know us too and have the chance to try to understand why we do what we do and what self care looks like. 11.01.2022 I always deliver the digital files via DropBox. I find it the easiest method to transfer large files and DB gives free storage when you create an account. If you shoot regularly with me you may need to purchase additional storage if you want to keep a backup of your files there. You should always download your files to your hard drive and keep another copy somewhere safe like iCloud or DropBox. Im always happy to help with any issues with DB or files, you can always flick me a message

The sheer quantity of quality images I produce and deliver is hard to demonstrate. 05.01.2022 Screen calibration is a strange thing. Colours can look different depending on the monitor they are viewed on. Sharpness can depend on the app being used. I know most apps compress the images and they loose their sharpness especially Instagram. So when I post to Instagram I always sharpen the images around 1/4 and I usually boost the contrast and saturation a little. You are welcome to make adjustments on the images you get from me and if you ever get stuck I’m always here and love to help, just message me

02.01.2022 Technique is one thing, but to get the shot you want you need to be bold. You might need to stand in front of people, ask people to move, get there early to get in position. Sometimes you have to go way outside your comfort zone and in my experience, Photographer’s are mainly introverts. It’s about the way we silently see the world. The extroverts are out in front of the camera. To be a success you have to grow. You want to hide back in the shadows but sometimes you simply can’t or you won’t get the shot. I want to take you out on a shoot and teach you what I’ve learnt.
