25.01.2022 FACTS ON FUNERALS - NUMBER 1. IF SOMEONE DIES, WHAT’S THE FIRST THING YOU SHOULD DO? At the moment, you’re probably thinking - I wouldn’t know what to do.... Strangely enough the first instinct most people have is to call their family doctor, and as it happens, this is the first thing to do if a death occurs at home. The family doctor (or a locum if necessary) will attend and confirm the fact of death and will later complete a death certificate. Once the doctor has left, you then need to contact a Funeral Director to arrange for your loved one to be taken into their care. If you would like some extra time to be with your loved one, just call us when YOU’RE ready. We are here for you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year! For more information please call 95656200

How we grow can depend on many factors including self-care, the care others provide us, our environment, and the type of sustenance we put into our bodies. Are you getting everything you need to flourish and grow into a mighty oak Jeremy Bishop

21.01.2022 On the 26th of January 1788, Captain Arthur Phillip and The First Fleet landed on the shores of Sydney Cove. This is the marker that we use to celebrate Australia Day - the discovery of our wonderful country. Australia Day is a day to remember the remarkable things we've achieved as a nation throughout the years, but it is also a day to reflect upon some of the things we've gotten wrong in the past so we can aim to improve in the years to come. Enjoy your Australia Day... We hope that you're able to celebrate with family, friends and loved ones! As always, we need to remember to acknowledge the native people of this land and be respectful of their history, especially on Australia Day. Jamie Davies

05.01.2022 Sword dance, known as (jiànw) in Chinese, has roots in many cultures throughout world history. In China, the dance initially developed as a training exercise for soldiers before later turning into an acrobatic dance. It is one of the four classical dances employed in traditional Chinese opera as well as a dance often performed in Tai Chi. Many times a tassel will be attached to the end of the sword, the swaying of which adds a mesmerizing quality to the sword. #ChineseNewYear #SwordDance #AllisonMonkhouse

04.01.2022 FACTS ON FUNERALS NUMBER 5 COPING WITH CHRISTMAS Christmas is a time usually anticipated with joy, but for the bereaved, it can be a time of sorrow, loneliness and emptiness. ... It may also be a time of memories. It is important not to let grief overwhelm the memories, good and bad, of past holidays and celebrations. You may need to tell your friends that it’s okay for them to mention the deceased person. Sometimes they avoid their name in the mistaken belief that this will shield you from your grief. If you are missing someone this Christmas, it may be easier to cope with Christmas if you do something special and specific to remember the deceased. Perhaps light a candle, play special music, attend a service, share memories with your family and friends, or plant a bush or flower in memory of the person. If you would like to talk to someone about arranging a funeral please phone 95656200.
